II: Ah well. We can stop by and see this Luke guy. And we can go shopping either way. Being a tourist is fun, isn't it, El?
RR: The funnest. *she's hoping to be able to stop acting soon*

*the guards, continuing to be of actual help, say* if you've got forein coin, there's likely a large number of merchants who won't sell. You should visit a pawn shop, or maybe have something with which to trade for whatever your looking for.
*the mages seperate, and the main one says,* "any contained wraiths that are not contained in vacuo tubes, should be in sleep mode if they have it, unless a proper permit is provided."
[==@] *the darkmatter look to you, awaiting a 'shutdown' order*
II: Thanks for the tips!
RR: *sighs* If we have to. Take a nap, buddy.
[=@=] confirmed. [===] *they move so as to drape themselves across you as they 'sleep', looking like nothing more than an ordinary cloak* *a thought is briefly heard* *we can still talk. And we are glad that things here are putting us all on more equal ground with eachother, since we are all supposedly under orders from a master off in the wild*
*the mages seem happier than a kid in a candy store watching this, and add,* "if you awaken them within the city, then we might need to place you under arrest, and ask that you leave our town."
*guards ask,* "that all you want from them?"
*a nod from the mages, followed by a,* "other than wanting to talk with their master of course. They are free to enter."
*with a nod, the guards head towards the main gate to let you in, while the mages rush back towards the slab that had lowered down, eager to try new theories*
RR: *rubs at the collar of the "cloak" with her hand, thinking* *Good.*
*both follow the guards and mages towards the town*
II: Yeah, that'd be a real damper on our trip. Keep big buddy asleep, El, alright?
RR: I heard them.
*the mages go back up with the slab, while the guards direct you towards the gate, one of them talking to you while the other lets a geode half hidden on the side of the wall emmit a light that scans his eye, a flash of green going off before the gate opens for you, revealing a rather old-fashioned kind of town*
"Sorry about all that. Just got to keep the place safe... And, if you don't mind, may I ask where you had such fine fabric such as the cloak and your cloths made? My daughter is almost to marrying age, and I wish to be able to provide her with the perfect dress once her big day comes about."
II: Oh, these? They-- were gifts. I could ask when we get home-- oh, no, that would take a long time. Hm.
RR: *shrugs apologetically*
"Ah-well... It was worth an ask. Stay out of trouble now."
*the guards are letting you pass*
*the place is very much like an old medieval castle town, with a few notable differences. there seem to be wooden stands with brilliant yellow crystals atop them to function as street-lights, and the pavement is lined with a few small gems, including both the blue ones with the white cores, and some green ones as well. the place is surprisingly tidy along the streets, though there are a few places that are an exception, dirt and other bits of trash lieing in small piles in corners... a beggar can be seen sitting near the gate. the streets are quite lively, and a few kids can be seen running around playing* *and... there, a sign advertizing a bar owned by 'Luke'... Luke's Luncheon* *a few other stores can be seen, ranging from Inns, to cobblers, to enchanters, to pawn-shops, to butchers, to metal-smiths, to nik-nak places with all kinds of fancy magic and non-magic things* *see anything of great interest? we can't see like this, but we can hear.*
*as they leave the guard behind*
RR: ...Artiesprite?
II: It was the first name that came to mind. Can't wait to tell Cody what his dog's famous for now.
RR: Hm. *looking around at the streets as the walk*
II: That guard was nice. Pity we can't tell him how to get outfits like these.
RR: He'd rather not know. There-- That must be the Luke guy's place. Should we try there? --I'm asking them. *taps the robe collar again* They can't see, but I can hear them thinking.
II: Oh. That's handy.
*yes. There is where the closest 'wraith' is supposed to be... Try and see if a price can be arranged, and once/if we buy it, we can see if it is the last three grams of darkmatter soul that we need to have a full 21 'grams', the natural weight that all fully formed and healthy souls should be*
*a few kids are looking at the two of you. You are clearly foreigners in this city*
RR: ...yeah, let's see if we can buy it. *under her breath* As sick as it sounds.
II: Can I ask... Are you really here to buy a wraith?
RR: I guess so... *notices the kids watching, and gives them a friendly smile, then looks away* I'll explain once we're out of town. For now, we're on a mission for renowned inventor master Artiesprite.
II: Got it.
*a few of the kids smile back, one notably with a tooth missing, and they start running around to play again. with such rough and tumble activities, its no mystery how the kid lost it*
*it would be easy enough to go right to the Luncheon if you didn't want to do anything else first*
*the darkmatter make no objection to having things be properly explained later*
RR: The guard's right, we'll need money if we're out to buy something.
II: You think boondollars count as foreign coin? Because the guys and I still have a load of those.
*if need be, we can fabricate some potential valuables for trading. ... oh. um... we just realized that you were giving Hamnet and Factor a bath when we... briefly broke down, and ended up telling your friends that we could fabricate objects from the solidified fluid emotion crystals we have... but that is an option. we would just need to go back outside the city walls so we could 'wake up'... and boons are certainly foreign coin, but they do possess a certain, enchantment, to them. they are made to be a universal currency after all. the glowing and flashing some of the larger boons have isn't just for show.* *they seem a tad embarrassed by the fact that they hadn't ever directly told you about it, even if they had referenced it a few times*
RR: Let's see if he's willing to consider selling first. Then try boons. Then, try that. Making something. *adds silently* *It's okay. I don't need to know everything at once.*
II: Alright, let's go shopping.
*thankyou...*
*the shops are still all around, and there's probably more deeper into the city if you wished to look for other kinds of shops*
RR: *she just wants to get this over with. The whole owning and buying and selling people thing is making her uneasy* *she heads for Luke's Luncheon*
II: *follows*
*the place isn't crowded, but there is a decent number of people sitting and eating... A large menu shows a punch-card layout. When you want something to eat, you take a numbered card, use the card puncher to input your order, and slot the card into a reader on the side of the wall. The only machinery to be seen is the punchers, readers, and a conveor coming out of the wall, but the sounds of steam can be heard coming from somewhere* *a dull, automated voice says, "card; 67. Order up.", and a man gets up and takes a tray that arrives on the conveor... The menu also says that punching every hole on a card will get Luke to come and discus any special order you want* *the menu seems to consist mostly of noodle products, such as spaghetti and Mac n' cheese, but theres some teas, wines, and breads as well*
RR: I'm not hungry.
II: *takes a pair of cards* Well, I am. I haven't eaten out in forever. And he'll probably like it if we buy something. *hands Sophie one of the cards* You can do the special order thing, so he'll come out and we can talk business for Artiesprite.
*in a quieter tone, the automated voice says, "cost; 0 G. 1 S. 21 R.", and the man drops a whole pentagonal silver coin with 5 sapphires inset on it, a silver coin with a neat fith missing, and a small copper coin with a lone ruby set in the center, down a small tube on the conveor, taking his food and walking back to his seat, even as the machine says, "correct pay. No change. Thankyou for eating at Luke's"*
*the cards that were taken say, 70 and 71* *the machine calls number 68, and another person gets up to get their order*
