II: *keeps a hold on it, but lets her touch* Careful, it can be a bit picky about who holds it. It's the kind of thing that works as well as the amount of work you've put into understanding it. Or at least, that's how it was explained to me. A while ago now.

RR: *shakes herself a little more awake* Is there anything I should do to help?
[===] notreally. wejustwantedtoletyouknow. sorrytohavewokenyou.

*she thinks its a fun little trinket* "guh... must be a potent artifact. what kind of magic do you have? mine is electric." *she lets go of the hourglass after looking at it closely*
RR: It's okay. I've been in and out.

II: Time.
"Oooh, thats a powerful one... you must be real important back where your from."
*she sees the tea stuff mess* "guh. sorry about the mess. usually we keep things nice and tidy."

[===] mmh. *return to work*
RR: *goes back to letting her mind wander*

II: I guess... Oh, Vivian got that out for us. She's a good host.
"guh. How nice of her to get you tea. I'll be a moment. I've got to focus on cleaning this up." *starts putting the tea away into the basket*
II: Okay. *shifts the chain on her neck; sometimes it feels heavier than others*
*after she has everything cleaned up, she returns to the den and says,* "guh... you said the others were downstairs?"
Yeah. *glancing down at the hourglass* Should be about another hour, if I read the flow right. As I understand it, what they're working on is the kind of thing you should be slow and careful about.
"oh... guh, would it be ok to go look? I want to make sure she's doing ok."

[===] *a few of the crystals are being removed, but there is still about 12 still stuck in her body, moving around*
II: I don't know... It's soul work, and that's not my area... I do know, if anything was going wrong, Sophie wouldn't be all quiet down there. She'd be making a fuss.
"time... soul... guh... you two must be very very important. could you please tell me a bit more about the place you came from?"
It's...complicated. I mean, the place we're from originally wasn't all that complicated. And then things got complicated. With the end of the world.
"guh. yea, the end of the world always complicates things. I'm glad my sister was able to help prevent it. It would have been a disaster if the queen had escaped..."

*not to much longer... there are only 5 crystal spears in her now*
Yeah, well... I wish we'd have been able to prevent the end of ours. I was okay with it in the moment--I was told we were moving on to something bigger and better. And we did. New titles and magical powers and everything, and even a new world to live on and take care of. But... It isn't the same, you know? And recently I've started to realize just how long time is.
"guh... wait, if you have time powers, can't you go back and stop it from happening?"
Heh. I've thought about it, to be sure. Recently I've thought about it a lot. I know some people who'd be really happy with that. But I don't change time, I heal it. I go along the flow and see where it's twisted or broken, and ease it back into place. *indicating the hourglass* That's what this is meant for. I bet if I went back intending to change things--things in the past of my own timeline, I mean--it wouldn't take me there. It's a bit like that oath doctors take, to do no harm? I can fix time when it goes out of whack, but I can't cause breaks in my own timeline. I don't think I'd be able to fix that.
"uh... guh... ok. a time healer..." *she doesn't really get it, not knowing much of time stuff*

*almost done... 4 crystals left shifting around*
Yeah, I know, it took me a while to get a grasp of it. *adjusts the chain again* But what I know now... is that when I think about going back and changing things... getting our families out, warning people... this thing feels like it gets even heavier. Sophie called it a metaphor for responsibility, once--I think it's literal.
"guh... thats, heavy..." *they arn't 100% sure what the best response is, so they keep it brief*
