Sam did indeed see 00013 two floors behind, and swore colorfully under his breath. David had Alex over his shoulder, and his plasma pistol ready, not that it'd do much good, the way his brothers were running. Michael shouted.

"Go go go go go go go! We're right behind you! " he yelled, turning for a moment as he sprinted and shooting out the fluorescent fixture hanging in the stairwell. The plasma melted through the metal, and the giant thing crumpled behind them. It wouldn't be much, but a few seconds was a few seconds, and they needed all the time they could get.

Alex was still and silent, and David gave him a little shake. "Wake the hell up Alex, this is not the time for your beauty sleep!"

From where David stood at the door, there was a colossal thud outside. Something just collided with the concrete. Seeing Austin sit up, he started sprinting over. "AUSTIN! " He didn't put Alex down, but slid to a stop. "You alive?" Seeing that he was apparently uninjured, David jerked his head. "We gotta get the **** out, come on, up up up. Mikey and Sam got the kids."
Austin groaned, and looked over at David sluggishly. "Huh? Oh. No, I don't think so. Shouldn't be, anyway..." Then David cursed and started running. "Oh, uh, okay." He stood up from his sitting position and followed the brothers, lagging slightly behind.

Someone needed to call in the transport. Austin clearly didn't have the presence of mind to do so, although he was running at a steady pace.

... There was a larger thud heard behind them, and should they look back, John had just landed in the same spot Austin had moments prior. Differentiating factor being that John was standing upright.

He and 00013 were suddenly on their tails.

Luckily, their shuttle's pilot radioed in. "I see you're on the move from the waypoint. Do you need pickup?"
Alex was limp as a noodle, and David was trying to keep his weight balanced. Thankfully, their pilot called in, and all at once, the brothers shouted at the same time.

"Yes!"

Sam grunted. Someone would have to lay down SOME sort of cover fire. From what he was seeing, it wouldn't do much good against the thing chasing them, but something had to be done. Once they finally burst out of the lobby of the building, David sprinted for them, glancing back now and then to make sure Austin was still behind him. If he'd had an extra arm, he would've grabbed the man, but they were out of time and options for that.

David cursed into his comm. "What's your ETA? We need that ride."
Austin sat up suddenly-

Where was he? He couldn't remember anything. A quick glance around revealed that it was dusk at the moment, that the Scott brothers were gathered around a campfire a few yards away, and... Then Austin remembered. It'd been a full month since they'd landed. Shit.

The shuttle had flown in within a few minutes of the call. By that time, though, Austin and David had lagged extremely far behind. John had rushed up and tackled Austin to the ground, leaving 00013 to deal with the Scott brothers. Shouldn't take too long.

Luckily, almost everyone still had access to their weapons. 00013 could handle a few hits, but with the constant barrage of fire he was now taking, he decided his skills would be put to better use at some other time and fled westward, disappearing with a cloaking device.

John was still beating up on Austin when 00013 disappeared. It was either run away to play more cat-and-mouse games, or fight. Naturally, John picked the latter option. His baton-thing appeared once again. Superheated plasma slammed down through armor, flesh and bone, and Austin's arm fell off nearly bloodlessly from the shoulder. The pain caused a blackout. Thankfully, the shuttle had arrived on-scene and was firing the plasma cannon at John.

Not-so-fortunately for the group of heroes, 00013 didn't run as far as he'd made it seem. The shuttle took a ton of damage from an EMP blast, falling to the ground. Its plasma cannon was ripped from the front, and if it weren't for the pilot's quick thinking, it wouldn't have gotten back off the ground at all. He had to make a decision to stay and risk never returning to home base, or go without the team.

With the help of covering fire from the group, the shuttle was able to power back up within a minute, and hovered back into the air, where it launched off towards space.

So much for being back within two weeks.

They'd been walking around the city, trying to avoid hostiles and looking for places where they could stay until they were retrieved and brought back home.

Austin stood up slowly and walked over to the campfire to see what everyone was talking about.
((Psst. Hey. If you don't want to do this anymore, just tell me. Thanks.))
