Community Feedback
- Our next contest will be a profile BBCode one, which will be freely available to everyone, epic or not.
The Jam's goal is to build up community resources through our own work and collaborative efforts like this contest! -
@Nativity - I understand your frustration, we all do.
But this isn't up to us.
This is something Kim have decided because hosting a site like this is expensive, and she has to generate some kind of income besides ads. And one of those are the Epic upgrades. Custom templates is a carrot to help the site.
If it was up to us, we'd make them available for everyone, even non-epic members. -
How beautiful! Great job, everyone!

Coding is not something that is easy to learn, and the things the group of coders do with the complex set-up RPR has is AMAZING. Honestly, I appreciate that you all make these available for free at all, because I would have happily paid for most of them if I could.
$5 a month may seem like a lot when you don't have a lot to spare, but without our contribution, RPR couldn't stay afloat as easily. I love the Template Jam concept. It was created by a community, and helps to promote RPR itself by encouraging people to become epic members to use the gorgeous sites. These people make RPRs to make money, too. For some people, the stuff they do online is their job. The ones they make available for free generate interest in their work. By making that content available to people who can spend money, it's good business.
I was one of those underdogs for a long time too, didn't want to spare the extra for epic member ship just to use the extra fancy layouts, so I understand your point of view. I'm just asking you see it from THEIRS. -
@Lexi - ..Uhm, it doesn't tempt me. I have things called bills and that's where money usually goes since I don't make enough to make ends meet so. #Priorities I guess...
-
@dray - Yes, but for those less fortunate enough not to be able to throw money at the site? I care.

beautiful work!

Look at it this way Nativity, the temptation of these gorgeous templates help encourage those who can to help support the site we all know and love. It's a win/win!
These are beautiful. Very well done, I love them all so much! Thank you to everyone who put such hard work into them. -
Everybody really put in a lot of effort -- that's why I am glad I have so much time to judge. Happily, there are enough prizes for everyone who participated!

Bobbin's template is amazing!
-
The reason these are only for epic members is because they aren't official templates. CSS layouts that are user made can only be used by epic members. I promise it isn't a conscious decision that template creators make.
-
I don't even care if they're for epic members--it's worth spending a bit of extra money to support the site and get a fancy background, and these are lovely.
Good work, you guys!! Whipped up in such a short time, no less. Keep up the good work! -
Not going to lie, I wish there were more free Templates for NON epic members. Most templates that come out are for Epic members now and it's depressing...
