There are two types of IC membership options to the Vulpine Vandals. The first are called the Company Regulars, the actual soldiery of the company, and the second are the Company Irregulars, who make up the behind-the-scenes supply train and camp amenity providers.
For a character to be accepted as a Company Regular, he or she must:
A) be proficient in a martial skill (be that hand-to-hand, sword and shield, archery, etc.),
B) be a fox or at the very least a canine who could get away with claiming fox ancestry (even if it is not necessarily true),
C) swear allegiance to House Açelya and renounce any previous allegiances,
D) declare themselves an enemy of the state of Kasuria and
E) behave in a way that befits the good name of the company and to respect the laws of the land in addition to those of the Vulpine Vandals (this does not apply to Kasurian law).
Each Company Regular of the Vulpine Vandals is given a dagger engraved with the letters "V.V." and all oath taking is done on that dagger. If a member of the Vandals is dishonourably discharged, their commanding officer is required to drive the dagger into the chest of the offending member and snap off the handle. This is not required to be a fatal act.
For a character to be accepted as a Company Irregular, he or she must:
A) submit to the authority of the Company officers,
B) swear allegiance to House Açelya and renounce any previous allegiances,
C) declare themselves an enemy of the state of Kasuria and
D) behave in a way that befits the good name of the company and to respect the laws of the land in addition to those of the Vulpine Vandals (this does not apply to Kasurian law).
Company Irregulars do not receive daggers and cannot be dishonourably discharged, but they will not receive pay no matter how long they have served if they are determined to have broken one of the rules of the oath swearing.
