"Listen, all I'm saying is that they just don't carry my shade here. Would it be that much to ask for a quick jaunt back to Earth?" a sleek red bot said as he walked alongside a slightly larger white bot.

"Bee said we need all the help we can get with reconstruction. Those revitalization pods aren't going to fabricate all by themselves." the white bot replied back to the red one.

"Smokescreen... It'll just be a quick trip - there and back that's all I'm asking?" the first said as he tried to reason with the Autobot known as Smokescreen.

"Well... Maybe Bumblebee won't mind a day trip. Just as long as we get back in time for the unveiling of Neo Kaon," Smokescreen said before pausing. "-And Knock Out... Try not to get stuck in any more walls!" he said while shifting in his vehicle mode as a white sports car.

Knock Out grinned, "Ha! Eat my dust!" Knock Out said as he shifted with Smokescreen into his own vehicle mode as a red european sports car.

The two began to race towards the Space Bridge generator, "Setting Space Bridge coordinates for Earth. Just outside of Jasper, Nevada." Knock Out said as the circular archway illuminated an electric teal and the portal opened. Both revved into maximum overdrive and sped through the portal.

Soon the two came out of the space bridge on the outskirts of Jasper.

Both Knock Out and Smokescreen came to a screeching halt as two long pairs of skid marks trailed after them. "Smokescreen to Ratchet, you in Doc?" Smokescreen asked via audio transmission to the Autobot base.

Ratchet looked up, surprised. "Smokescreen? What are you doing on Earth? Aren't you supposed to be on Cybertron helping with the reconstruction?"Ratchet said. "Are you the only one that came here?"Ratchet asked.

Smokescreen laughed a bit at hearing the sound of Ratchet's voice after nearly a cycle. Such a short amount of time to a Cybertronian but Earth time seemed to have made that same period of time feel like decades.

"Its good to hear from you too Doc," Smokescreen replied even though Ratchet hadn't even given a greeting. "I'm here with Knock Out, we're just here for a few days or so. We wanted to visit-" Smokescreen said before being cut off.

"-And pick up some Earth commodities that I've grown accustomed to." Knock Out added as he butted into the frequency.

"Anyway could you open a Ground Bridge for us, we heard that 'Scream was still lurking around. We'd hate to invite him to a party he isn't welcome to." Smokescreen said with a smug demeanor.

"I fear Starscream is the least of our worries."Ratchet said. Soon a ground bridge opened before the two, allowing them to enter the base. "I don't believe you encountered them during your tiem on Earth, but a group known as MECH has resurfaced. They had interest in Cybertronian biology, and even managed to built a false Optimus."Ratchet said.

Both Knock Out and Smokescreen revved up and drove through the ground bridge into the base, "I remember Bulk telling me about them, Optimus destroyed the fake they built. But I thought they disbanded after everyone found out Cylus died..." Smokescreen said before shifting out of vehicle mode and turned to Knock Out.

"What? I may have roughed up his exterior some for killing and re-purposing the carcass of Breakdown but I was not the one who snuffed out his artificial Spark. You can thank Arachnid for that, wherever she scuttled off to..." Knock Out said with a huff as he shifted from vehicle mode.

"So what about MECH? Are they back?" Smokescreen asked.

"Unfortunately I think so."Ratchet said. "I currently sent out a recent arrival named Blurr to try and find any what we dubbed 'Syntheticons'."Ratchet said. "Hey, doc. Anymore late arrivals? I doubt we were the only survivors of the 'Con's assault."Roadkill said entering the room, soon noticing Knockout and Smokescreen. "I don't recognize either of them."He said.

"Syntheticons..." Smokescreen repeated as a puzzled look spead across his face.

"Allow me to ask the obvious question Smokescreen," Knock Out said to him, "-What in the name of Primus is a Syntheticon?" Knock Out asked in almost comedic fashion and exaggeration.

That was when Roadkill entered, "I'm Smokescreen and this is Knock Out. We came back to check in on things here on Earth. Now what's this I hear about the 'Cons?" Smokescreen said, he didn't mince word when it can to Decepticon threats.

"They aren't decepticons Smokescreen. From what we understand of them they are simply Cybertronian shells being piloted by a MECH agent."Ratchet explained. "So far the Syntheticons we have encountered seem to be based off standard decetpicon troopers."Ratchet explained. "Save for one. Ah think it was a captain or general or someth'n"Roadkill said."Oh, and name's Roadkill by the way. Nice to meet y'all."Roadkill added.

"Shells? Their using fallen Decepticon chassis as suits?" Smokescreen said with a fearful disgust at the depravity MECH had stooped to. "Then the question remains, who in their right central processors would willingly join with MECH?" Smokescreen went on to ponder.

Knock Out was busy looking around the new base, "Quite the set up you have here Doctor, remind me next time to bring a few touches of home for you." Knock Out said as he ran a digit along some of the equipment laying around.

"They're not using corpses from what I understand. They're building their own Cybertronians to use."Ratchet said. "Hence the term Syntheticon.

"Building... This sounds serious. Have there been any innocents put in harm's way? Where are the kids?" Smokescreen said.

"Jack, Raf, and Miko are fine. They have currently been appointed new guardians. Unfortunately one of Miko's friends is currently being held by the Decepticons. Hound, one of the new arrivals, and Miko went to find her friend, but unfortunately failed to save her. Thankfully though, Hound knows the Decepticon. The Decepticon's name is Treads. From what Hound told me and Miko, Treads is a very honorable decepticon, and would never stoop low enough to harm a human, nor allow one to be harmed. Quite frankly I'm surprised he's a Decepticon at all. However, considering Starscream has taken control of the Decepticons, I fear that Miko's friend may not be as safe as we may think."Ratchet said. "Hound and Roadkill are currently working out a plan to go and retrieve Miko's friend, but we'd need the location of the Decepticon's ship. Assuming they're using one."Ratchet added.

"I could help!" Knock Out said a bit too eagerly as he waved his hand in the air to get the others' attention. "If you've been on one Decepticon warship you've been on them all. I should be able to get us in with no trouble whatsoever, I doubt Starscream remembered to change the frequency scramblers. I should be able to find the right frequency that will allow us to simply Space Bridge in." Knock Out explained.

Smokescreen shrugged, "I guess it'll give me a reason to use my trusty phase-shifter again." he said as he pulled it from the holster on his waist.

Oop: if we are going to do this I'd need to get contact with Caramel. The character that was captured is hers after all.


"Hmmm.... that might work. Though while I do consider Starscream's leadership skills to be nothing compared to Megatron's, he isn't that foolish. We should also consider some of his recently acquired co-horts. According to Ironhide's description, there were two other Seekers that destroyed their ship. I have reason to believe the two seekers were Thundercracker and Skywarp. I was also informed of another decepticon that fits the description and mannerisms of Barricade, a very skilled hunter, aswell as two insecticons who seem to be specially made. According to Hound.So it's entirely possible one of them changed the Frequency Scramlbers."Ratchet said. "Though you are welcome to try if you want."He added.

"Come on Doc, you know me! I can handle anything that comes my way." Smokescreen said as he pounded his metal fists together causing all of the smaller equipment in proximity to jump up before clattering back down.

"And he'll have some assistance, I did manage to fix the Immobilizer after I broke it the last time." Knock Out added in.

"Like I said, you're welcome to try."Ratchet said. "So, we go'n or not?"Roadkill asked.
