Crystie sighed as she heaved her backpack in the revolving doors. She was looking forward to taking a week off from work, it had been far too long since her last vacation. Smiling, she approached the counter and patiently waited behind another fellow.
"Hey, you seen anyone else around here?" She asked him, he sung her full backpack further up her shoulders.

After a few moments a human-like girl appeared. She was much taller than average person, for what looked like a girl in her mid to late teens. Her eyes were large, and her nose was slightly more rounded in the front than a humans. Behind her swished a long powerful tail. Her hands only had three digits. On her face were odd, dark markings. And finally a pair of horns jutted from her forehead, which were put through a head band of sorts. She was wearing the standard uniform for the hotel. "Uh.. I'm sorry for the wait."She said wearing an awkward grin. "I assume you were wanting a room?"She asked.
HOW could she resist? The opportunity to involve herself was almost too much to bare for the kitsune, her curious nature getting the better of her. Having been on a proverbial break of sorts (one can enjoy a baguette in mid air, yes?), she soon found herself questioning many things. Why the hotel seemed so understaffed, why the apparent receptionist turned up right on cue or just as importantly - why was she on a lunch break when she did not require any form of food?

She chose to forgo this little circumstance in order to lend the receptionist a helping hand. Still solidly in her jujin form, she greeted floor to bare foot (there's a hygienic staff member!) and soon strode up to the desk side, offering the guests a bright smile and a flourishing gesture "Welcome, welcome!" she cooed, her body seemingly giving a rather eerie shimmering before her Kimono faded into a rather typical bell boys outfit, complete with the hat and the hotel's emblem in faux-personalized fashion, being chewed upon by a red fox.

"Once our wonderful front-liner has registered you, I can help you find your room and move those heavy bags of yours! "oh she sounded enthusiastic... Far too enthusiastic.
Crystie couldn't help but peer around the boy in front of her to get a good look at the staff. Odd fellows they had here, but she had seen some weird things in her time. Crystie quietly chuckled into her hand as the ghostly kitsune appeared. She seemed awfully joyful to meet a couple of guests.
"Once I get checked in I can handle my bag. I packed pretty light this time, thank you though," she replied, gesturing to her backpack.
"While he's getting checked in can you tell me about the amenities here?" Crystie asked, approaching the counter.
"Okay... Uh..."Condolette said, not sure what to do. "Uh.... I... uh..."Condolette said, scratching her head. She truly had no idea what to do. She rarely if ever stayed at hotels and thus hadn't seen the staff work in them before, and worse she hadn't been trained to be a receptionist.
Improv! Now was the time to shine, Kasumi! You spent five hundred years learning this one!

"Oh, do forgive my friend here!" She attempted to lean over aside, placing an arm upon Condolette's back, patting it firmly and giving the guests a toothy grin. "She's a little new to the establishment, very nervous! In fact she's here as part of an appenticeship!" With that, her form seemed to distort, becoming a shimmering, golden gaseous substance before sliding over the desk, attempting to take over for Condolette - or at least give the poor thing a helping hand! SOMEONE had to get the job done, it was a professional business.

"Now, then. If I may, good sir?" One of her tails raised itself, flicking rather briefly before a room key floated free from the numbered rack, slowly levitating towards her and reaching her hand as she raised it to grab it. Meanwhile, she answered the curious customer's question. "We have all that you can ask for! Comfortable rooms, warm beds - self-restuffing feather pillows, stylized and specialized rooms for guests with special needs and specific environments (why please, do bring along your firey elemental sister, we'll have room to spare!), radiant springs within every room, a fine view of our fantastically walkable gardens - I do keep them very , very tidy, by the way - and we have an open candy shop located on this floor!" she pointed towards the doorway branching off from the lobby, assuming there was any indication of the store being there.

"You may call me Kasumi, no that is not my real name - speaking my real name anywhere outside of Amenōtōkōtachí would have disastrous amounts of power and I would rather not end up going 'poof!' and turning into a tornado! That would blow! Swoooo! Wind humor!" she chuckled aloud at the guests, giving an exasperatedly pleased sigh before offering Max his key. Leaving a hand open to take his money "I do believe that room will be to your liking, sir. I can direct you to it, or leave one of my friends to do that for you." She peered aside at Condolette, feeling she'd tried stealing her thunder a little too hard "Would you rather show them? Surely you know where the rooms are!"
"Uh... I guess I can."Condolette said, with her tail flicking back and forth behind her. "Uh, right this way."She said, leading Max to his room.
Condolette glanced around the halls they were going down. "Okay... uh, here's your room."Condolette said as she came across the room Max was supposed to stay in.
"I hope you enjoy your stay"Condolette said before heading off.
Observing as the girl lead the fox off, Kasumi lent her gaze to the remaining customer, flashing her a toothy grin and leaning towards Crystie, yet staying behind the counter. "Well then! What about you, ma'am? What would suit you just fine, hm?" she pondered, eyes glimmering intensely. "Perhaps something to fit your specific nature, hm? Ooh, or perhaps you feel like taking a room that has just the right view? No shortage of that, our windows are crystal clear and we have fantastic views all over!" She quipped, already running a finger before her own eyes as she turned to the rack.

"Of course, if you'd rather simply have one and be done with, you could see what you get." Ah, the mystery choice. Her favorite, but now her curiosity was blooming as to what this customer's deal was. The others could harry the new guests along at mach speed for all she cared - Kasumi was one to learn more about others, even if it was business as usual.
Crystie chuckled and couldn't help taking a step back. The worker's enthusiasm was almost overbearing. Still, Crystie seemed drawn to it.
"Gosh..what room.. I've never really had the choice before. So you know what, surprise me! I don't necessarily need a view, but one would be nice. I'm really just here to get away, you know?" Crystie told the joyous attendant, a small smile on her face.
After a few moments Condolette returned.
'Surprise me'. Now those were words she didn't hear often enough. For that moment, her dark lips pursed in surprise, giving a little giggle at the circumstance before she would fan a tail over the desk. "Oh, but of course, my good woman! Allow me to get you the luck of the draw and the surprise you have requested!" She reaches out again, allowing another key to float right to her, pinching it out of the air, she would tilt her head to the side, gesturing for the woman to follow her.

Her movement wasn't so much a step nor was it a glide - but both. She took one step, floated through the air and then took another. Elemental breeds , always showing off their pride. She lead the woman with the light baggage right ahead through the halls, her tails fanned out behind her - each of them topped by a miniscule blue flame that gave off some extra light, occasionally catching the light if their surrounding necessitated a fiery source. "I must say - I do love the hair! Such an adventurous colour. And your face is quite fetching. Oh, do forgive the personal intrusions! No harm in making one aware." Turning back to face her as she glided along, it would be but a flash - but for the sightest moment, it seemed as if she'd just mimicked her features exactly, flashing a grin at her before seemingly changing back. "I must ponder ...what is your story? Why come here? A little time away from your troubles?"

As the door met them, Kasumi stopped abruptly, allowing the woman to talk if she wished to before she would slide the key into it's lock, taking but a second to unlock it, pulling the key loose and offering it to her. "I do hope your stay here is as relaxing as I hope it is." with one last toothy grin, the fox leaned aside and turned the knob, allowing the door to swing open. The room was suddenly lit up by several blue crystals, streaming alongside the walls and illuminating the two rooms rather brightly. By all means, she was going to be living comfortably, perhaps if she liked blue - considering the walls , floors and ceiling seemed to be rather crystalline in nature. The main room contained several drawers and shelves, a rather wide and spacious bed seemingly carved out of pale wood, an inset matress covered with warm, comfortable looking furs as blankets and soft pillows, looking fluffy as ever. To the side, one could see a basic bathing room, with tub and basins at the ready.

The view of the outside through the nearby window appeared to be rather odd...it was a foreign landscape - the entire outside world seemingly made out of pure sapphire, that included the water that was running and the rather curious blue sun that shined in the sky.
What a curious...person she thought. Politely, Crystie followed behind the kitsune as she lead her down the hall. The place actually looked pretty high class, it would be no trouble at all to escape the world for awhile here. She smiled at the thought of living simply for the next week.

Crystie's smile relit her face at the girl's comment. She had never pictured her light brown hair to be "adventurous", especially since she usually had it tied up on her head, but everyone had their own opinion! When the worker turned back to gaze at Crystie, she swore she was looking at her own reflection mirrored in the girl's image. The next second though, it was gone. Guess she really did need a vacation after all.

When they finally arrived at her door, Crystie felt excitement bubble inside her. She wondered what lay beyond the door, and more, she was ready to relax.
"Something like that," Crystie replied to the girl's question, giving the girl a grin. Part of her was running away again, and part of her was using this place as an excuse to regain her energy so she could return. She immediately pushed the thought of the Allilian out of her mind.

When the door opened, Crystie was amazed to see what lay inside. The room was more immaculate that she would have ever imagined. Crystals lining every inch of the walls, a large comfy bed, a tub big enough to sleep in, and a view of a place unheard of. For a few moments all Crystie would do was gawk, trying to look at every corner in the room; she didn't want to miss any detail. Finally though, her hand went up and took the key from the worker.
"This place is incredible. I can't believe you have rooms like this here! This is exactly what I needed." She slowly stepped into the room and let her bag drop to the floor as she gazed around. After a quick one eighty she met the workers gaze again.
"Thank you so much!! So question, where's the best place to eat around here?"
Whatever the girl's reasons for moving away were - what really caught the kitsune's interest was her rather ample amount of excitement. Oh how she loved something like this. Kasumi's mirth could only grow as her deeds were venerated, hands meeting at her centre to give the girl a long, deep bow. "Ahh, I'm pleased to see it tickles your...fancy, my good woman." She gestures towards the window, speaking assuringly. "No fear, nothing shall come through that window. What you see through there is merely a one-way scrying spell. Nothing can see you and it compliments the room perfectly, wouldn't you say?" she stopped to lean up close to the woman, waggling her brows once more.

"Now, that is a very relative question. Would you like food that is or is not murder upon your teeth? If you do not mind the decay, I would direct you to our resident candy shop - you will find a wide assortment of fine delicacies from the beyond over there - do mind the staff, they are quite the bunch! And if that does not meet your fancy - well, I am sure there are many different restaurants to meet your fancy! We also have room service in case you require something brought to your room - on request, you'll find our selection...near infinite." With a sly giggle, she found herself turning her side to the guest, pursing her lips and hruming.

"Of course we shall be opening a restaurant when we get the chance, you see we haven't quite gotten there yet. Interesting fact about this hotel - we're marvels of the multiverse that would make a city of doors blush...and yet we're still working on staffing ourselves properly. Quite an odd conundrum, humhum? But by all means - I, Kasumi , shall tend to your every whim. When I am not tending to the hedges outside or the raking...or the dusting. I won't lie - I am just the ground's keeper...but!" she turned to face her fully, crossing her arms over her chest as she levitated herself high, pride filling her chest as she raised her chin "A five hundred year old immortal versed in the arts of hospitality should prove to be enough suppliment.!"
"I see, I had no idea this hotel was going through such dramatic changes," Crystie replied, turning back to look through the window. The new outside world was amazing, she was sure it would take her awhile to grow accustomed to it.
"I guess i'll have to do with room service until the restaurant is opened up! I can hole up in my room for awhile," she turned back to the girl with a smile.
"Thanks for all your help. I'll be sure to ask for you if I need anything else! I'm pretty well suited to my room. I'll just take a little time to unpack!"
It really was romantic. Even a being like Kasumi had to admit that. The thought of a place for such unique beings to congregate was absolutely intoxicating. "Mmmm by all means! I'll see you're well fed and comfortable. If you need anything at all - be it what it may, I shall keep you comfortable."

To her words she'd simply scoff, waving her off as she would wink to her "It's no trouble at all. The beyond is wide and terrifying... We all need a bit of comfort. And my kids say I am fond of smothering." she giggled aloud, moving to the doorway and bowing her out. "You will find ample closet space. Barring that? Well, you seem like a capable woman. I leave that to you." she slid the door closed with a wave of her hand, cooing a toddle - loo.
Sighing, a young Twili Girl walked in the hotel, black coat on with the hood on her head. ''Let's hope this hotel doesnt mind weird looking people like me..'' Sam thinked, arriving at the main lobby. ''Hello, one room at the name Sam Jackson, please.'' She asked, trying to be polite. After paying and getting her key, the Twili Girl silently walked into her room, not aware that other people must have seen her or anything.

After she was done unpacking, Sam walked out of the room, starting to explore the features of the hotel.
Walking in the hallways and looking everywhere, Sam saw a man-fox. ''Atleast i'm not the only one weird here..'' She though, still walking.
Yet another fantastic part about the nature of being a spirit? Incorporeality! Especially when one was working on a multi-tiered location, the ability to transfer herself from one floor to another was quite useful. So, having finished with the previous guest and helped them to their room, Kasumi simply sauntered down the hallway and simply dropped through the floor, her body seemingly phasing through it as she steadily controlled the mass of her body, phasing it out just enough to send herself through. Now there was that one-time she goofed up and ended up reversing the process half way...coming back from that destruction of her corporeal body was not exactly luxury. And the innards - gods they took ages to clean those off the ground.

But, more things to tend to then old gory memories of yore! Another guest had come in, as Kasumi found herself in the lobby, adjusting herself just enough to be able to float a few feet in the air, watching Sam as she came in and passed a comment about her co-worker. She didn't quite catch that, but she'd have to investigate this herself. Allowing her time to get comfortable and commit a dozen tasks before she finally started to explore - and who wouldn't explore this place - she chose to introduce herself with professional eloquence.

By phasing her head through the floor ten feet in front of her and greeting her with eyes glowing a bright cyan and a toothy, wide grin. "My, haven't seen one of your kind walking around for...well, longer then I've been alive. Or un-alive. May I help you?"
