The History of Shadowynn
Ancient Shadowynn
Long before any of the kingdoms here were built, Shadowynn was inhabited not by men - But by Dwarves. Diminutive folk who lived in small stone huts that sat above the ground. They lived simply, but were considered barbaric, to the first men to settle in those lands. Thus they were driven out, and further south, their huts knocked over, and their species ignored. This of course, was a long time ago - The people now do not remember Dwarves, and know not of what happened to them after being forced into the colder southern regions of the continent. If only they knew..
The city of Morhall was one of the first settlements built, by men. Records there date back to the years just following the banishment of the dwarves, whose technology at the time was inferior. Of course Morhall was not always the grand sight it is today, it started as a lightly defended village, of wood and stone, with a sparse population. Most of the people who lived there did not converge with one another, they simply settled small plots of land and moved on seasonally to follow wildlife. Nomads.
The biggest issue they then faced, was goblins settling near them, in underground chasms. They were weak, but many in number, and often launched small raids against their unfortified settlements, and camps. Yet the men here are stubborn as can be. They reacted not with flight, but battle.
The first king was Sergius Wynn, who gathered each of the scattered villages under one banner, and raised a small army with promise to defend their settlements, in return for loyalty. This small militia was trained with spear and bow, to fight against the growing goblin menace. Within a few years, the goblins were driven back - Though they still remain they are no large threat; only a reoccurring nuisance. Sergius was then crowned King. He and those who now united under him, spent the next few years slowly building up Morhall, and the Iron Vale - Yet, Old age took Sergius before the latter was completed, and his second son Kaden become the second King of Morhall (The first was killed in a skirmish against a large tribe of goblins).

The Kingdom of Thaelith
The Kingdom of Thaelith is located in the province of Shadowynn, the center-most province in the realm known as Theriven. Shadowynn is a cold environment in the center and below, mild deciduous forest north and west, leading into the much warmer climates of Oron, Aelton, and the Veramina Islands to the distant North. The kingdom is centralized in Morhall, the Capitol city, where the king himself lives.
Though not always militarized, this kingdom has developed a strong army over recent years - His men are not high in number, but are each well trained. Knights of skill, before heritage.
He is allies with the Queen of Verth, Lady Accessa.
Capitol City - Morhall
Morhall is the capitol city of Thaelith, and one of the most well defended on all of Theriven. It was built specifically within a pitted mountain range, where few could get in without going strait through the main gates. It is a large city, with a grand, stone castle in the North-Western corner there of. The majority of the city is merchantile, since most of their resources are traded for. Reason being, the ground is bad for farming - Yet it contains vast amounts of Iron, which keep trade open with warmer villages, with better soil.
Villages of Note
Fallgrin - A small village in the south-east, recently taken over by Kormal's Milita
The Iron Vale - A Small city built outside of Morhall, to act as a first line of defense against invaders. It is located at the edge of the mountain range, and must be passed through first, to enter Morhall. It is only a bulwark, for soldiers.
Millwick - A riverside village, North-East of Morhall. It contains a few small farms, but is mostly an exporter of lumber.
Norcrest - A larger town, with a stone wall. It lies South of Morhall, closer to the Border of their enemy. Though it has historically been a large, mining town, it has recently been transformed into a miniature garrison, where soldiers are now residing in fair concentration.
Valmere - A settlement North of Morhall, near the Border of Oron. It is a fairly large trade hub, but the traffic makes it also a target for unsavory types. It has a somewhat higher crime rate than other places, yet this is due largely to its close proximity to Oron.
