Thea sat in the compartment of the Hogwarts Express with the other Prefects going over one of her new school books. She had taken the time before term to read them all once and now was making a few preliminary notes as others ran up and down the corridors. She would not be to hard on those who seemed excited about the start of term but when she heard the loud bang from the next compartment over she sighed and stood. Long almost white blond hair fell down past her waist. It was pulled half way back with a simple blue and bronze ribbon to keep it from her soft heart shaped face. Steel blue eyes pierced through the long frame of lashes as she pulled open the door to step her tall slender frame out in to the corridor. She pressed herself back against the wall flat as three first years ran past chasing a cat that seemed to have escaped its basket. She chuckled as she went to the next compartment and peered in to the windowed door. She gasped seeing luggage on the floor and three third years were in a heap laughing. Opening the door she asked "Are you three alright?" She pulled her wand from behind her ear waving it to replace the luggage that had fallen and fix the broken leather strap that held the trunks in place. They all nodded and she smiled. "Alright well lets not do that again. It would not be good to start the term off with detention now would it?" The third years paled a bit and shook their heads as she walked back to the Prefects compartment and took her book back up. She was trying to make good on her promise to herself that she would not procrastinate so badly this term.

Another year was about to begin. It was time to board the train today to take the long ride back to the familiar halls. That was home, at least for now. Her foster parents were nice but they did not understand her. They are muggles but they know of the wizarding world, much like Harry's aunt knew about his mom. They knew of it but were not apart of it so they did not know how to relate with her. Other than that they were kind and considerate but left her alone to do her thing.

All her books and materials were gathered. She boarded the train and went to find a compartment. She found an empty one by chance and sat by the window. She pulled out a copy of the daily prophet and pet her owl ,Arctic, through the cage as she scanned it for any interesting headlines.

Aria was a sixth year student. She was not very tall only standing roughly 5'3 or 5'4 and she was slim built. At the moment she sported pink streaks, a muggle thing, in her brown hair. She was not anti social but not popular either. She comes from parents of different worlds. Her mother was an intelligent Gryffindor but was only a half wizard. Her father a feared yet respected Slytherin from a pureblood line. Things went bad in her first year of Hogwarts. Now her mother was gone and her father locked in Azkaban for life, hopefully. After she had returned to school in her first year, she had a hard time readjusting so she took a deep study into her school work and did not bother with a social life.

When she finished with the prophet she pulled out a note book for her Care of Magical Creatures class. This is was a high interest study for her. She had a note book already filled from her over the summer studying. She was ready to add more. For now she reviewed her notes and made adjustments while she waited for the train to get moving.
Thea saw Aria sitting with her books and smiled. She stopped and peeked at her notes. "How hard did you find the chapter on the Blastended skrewts?" She had seen the girl in her classes that they had shared and always had liked her. She tucked her wand behind her ear as she sat across from her.
Aria looked up from her books and smiled a little. She did not expect the conversation but welcomed it nonetheless. "I wouldn't say hard but it is rather weird if you ask me. Of course they are not a natural breed. They do make for an interesting topic though." She recognized Thea and knew her to be a rather bright student. She respected anyone that took time for their studies. "I am honestly looking forward to this year though. I mean the OWLs are over and we get to focus more on interest now."
"I am excited as well! I managed to get an Outstanding in all of my classes so I am able to go in to the lessons I need for becoming an Auror. Have you thought about what you would like to do when you graduate?" ~She smiled warmly and pulled out a box of bertie botts offering her a few.
Aria smiles when she offered her some treats then shook her head "Thanks, but no thanks. I rather not eat when traveling." She thought about her own Owls for a moment and nodded "Yes, I received an Outstanding in all of mine too. As for what I want to do, I am not sure. I really want to be a Magizoologist. I think that would be an interesting career choice. I am not sure if I will specialize or just generalize."
"That sounds wonderful. I have not looked much in to it what do you know now?" she leaned forward interested.
Aria smiles, "Honestly I am still learning but I know that I am going to be focusing a good bit in Care of Magical Creatures. I am even going to see if the professor will let me spend some free time in the field. That would be a great help." She paused for a moment. "What about you? Are you ready for this year?"
She leaned back listening with a smile a nod showing she was paying close attention."I am sure they will. They usually love helping where they can for serious students." She shrugged at the question. "I am. I am ready to start learning more advanced lessons and maybe I will be able to start working at the ministry during the holidays."
Aria nodded, "That will be a good learning experience for over the holiday." She looked around for a moment then looked back to her. "Everyone is being unusually quiet during this trip. Normally the excitement of leaving the parents to go to school gets students going or at least the first years." She shrugged a bit then closed her books putting them in her bag. "Did you do anything exciting over the summer?"
Thea smiled and ran a hand through her silver blond hair. She shrugged afterwards and answered "I was made to spend part of the summer with my grandfather working on the Qubbler. It is part of why I am hoping that I will get a chance to get an internship or something of the sort at the Ministry. What about you? You have any big adventures?"
Aria nodded "Sounds like you had an active summer. Nothing special happened honestly. I pretty much studied all summer. It is still kind of weird living with Mr. Malfoy and his family considering he was friends with my father." She shrugged a bit though. "Oh well, I am gratefull could be worse honestly." She smiled again. "But it is not all bad."
A fade-in of noise would overtake Aria and Thea's ears:

"Well, you know what's great about being a HUFFLEPUFF?! If your girlfriends don't save you a seat, after five minutes of pouting - we make new friends. pfft. Oh, it is like that - don't give me your angelic, non-muggle, non-Arwen-eared nonsense!! I am not talking to you ever again - until we're in our common room - **silence** **silence** And you pay me with Bertie Bott's: every flavored beans! HRMPH!" The finale resonated into a crescendo directly near Aria and Thea.

Alle entered their booth, and appraised the sixth years. Composing herself dramatically, with full on smoothing of her robes and a comical straightening of her posture. "'ello. Might I join you?"
"That's good to hear. I know that the Malfoy's are trying to keep their heads down after all that bad news." She looked up and sighed. What was all that yelling about. She stood up adjusting her robes and making sure her prefects badge was on them properly before she moved to open the compartment door. She almost ran head long in to a girl walking in through it and gave a little half shout as she lept back. She looked the girl up and down and tilted her head "What is going on out there?"
Aria nodded "They are doing rather good honestly. The family's name is starting to clean up." She stopped when she heard the commotion and watched the girl get up to take care of business.

She noticed abother student walking in then tilts her head. "Um sure if you lik3. Everything alright?" It sounded just like school squawks were starting up again. Sometimes they were entertaining.
Alle giggled at their surprise. "Of course. Absolutely. I know your faces and not your names. I must apologize on my quirkiness. I am Allestrina, but my friends call me Alle! May I sit?" Alle's eyes flicked to the box of beans, as if she somehow sensed them. They quickly returned to hold Aria's gaze for quite some time.
Thea blinked and chuckled before sitting down herself. "I am Thea nice to meet you. What year are you in?" She looked at the girl with a half smile as she rested against the seat back.

(Sorry for the long wait and the short post. I was doing a charity event this weekend. so I am dead on my feet)
Aria settled back down and nodded. "And I am Aria." She would move her bags over to give the female some room to sit.
Allestrina grinned from ear to ear. with a quick flick of her wand, cast the cheering charm "Beatrus Intra!" Pink spirals flew out of the wand, causing instant happiness. "I do so like positive energy!" She took a seat, smoothing her robe. Her finger brushed from her bangs to behind her ear. "'ello Thea, I am a fifth year, an early 16. Drat!" She squished her face. Again she looked up at Aria, seeming to search her soul for long moments. Finally she adds. "Miss Aria. Pleasure."
