@Michael Would you believe me if I told you there are equipment pieces in DQ9 that match the attire you described for your character perfectly? Because I am serious about that.
Weapon: Short bow. A beginner's bow that's easy on the purse and the pectorals.
Headgear: X-ray Specs. Enchanted Eyewear that enhances Magical Mending. (increases the potency of healing spells)
Torso: Cloak of Evasion. (A green robe, basically) Uncommon clothing that makes evading enemy attacks easier.
Legs: Cotton Trousers. Simple Slacks made of standard stuff.
Feet: Sandals. Simple slip-ons that slip on simply.
Pretty basic starter gear honestly. Are you absolutely sure you haven't played DQ9 before?

That is very accurate! I've definitely not played the game before, but the more you talk about it, the more I want to play it for myself. I've seen some of the items you listed in a wiki, and mentioned the shortbow in particular because that was definitely one of the items I noticed while browsing.
There were other bows that I had my eye on, but I didn't want to go overboard when starting out (though he is the type to buy an expensive and durable weapon before thinking about fancy clothes and/or light armor).
Well, don't forget we're dealing with late game content, so there's very little gear that would be considered overboard or overpowered.

True! I'll totally keep that in mind as we go.
Hey Michael!! Guess what!! I found the gear you mentioned and changed Sevio to the Ranger class right quick to model your chosen attire for you. What do you think? Keep in mind Sevio might not look as good in the gear as Michael IC would. But this is pretty much everything you described yourself wearing IC.
That's actually quite accurate in terms of what he would wear. Aside from the blue trim of the cloak (artistic license on my end obviously, but the more I look the more I love the idea, so it's no big), it's right on the nose! I'm so happy you thought of me when it came to my character's outfit, though~ That really means a lot. I'll definitely have to take that as inspirational reference to finish up my drawing of him later on!
Uh...what's the DQ IX/JOKER equivalent of an earth bender? One who is keen on the plants.
*looks at Sevio with a 'you know what the heck I am talking about' expression*
You know what I'm talking about, Sevio. What's the Wakfu conversion to DragonQuest of Ileana? OH also her cute sheepskin armor outfit. OH OH OH and the blob!!!!
*Pokes Sevio*
Do it! Do your conversion thingy and tell me what your magic 8 ball says.
*Waits Patiently*

OH and, while you are at it. Do the conversion thing on Cybele too. If you convert it I can't get in trouble.

Very well. I shall begin the translation process from Wakfu Sadida to Dragon Quest character.

Hmm... Considering Ileana has a thing for nature and plants, I could see her being a Ranger or a Priestess, but instead of a cloak, glasses, and sandals, I can imagine her sporting a Fur Hood and a Fur Poncho, and perhaps either some Agiliboots (if Ranger) or Sheepskin Shoes (if Priestess). Another option though, would be the Armamentalist if you like using support magic to bolster allies stats and weaken enemies stats. Though there aren't any real fuzzy boots in DQ9, there are plenty of other footwear options. Do any of these that I mentioned sound like anything you might like?

It might be easier on me if I could read the picture you have of what the classes are but all I can make out are the outfits and I don't like the way any of those outfits look. Makes the girls look like hoochies and the men like fops.

Sorry that I don't have my DQ9 strategy guide anymore...
The picture has nothing worth reading on it. It's just the best I could find without posting 12 other pictures. But the gear in the pictures is just the advertised gear of the classes. There are far more options for clothing than just them.
BTW, if you want to know about the Ranger class's spells and abilities, here's a link that explains everything. There's also ways to get to the other classes too, if you want to look into them.

I do have a small question: are we waiting on more members? Or is the three of us enough to go on for now? I was just wondering because you mentioned there would be a posting order.
(It's honestly no big deal to me either way, it gives me plenty of time to finish drawing Michael and work on a few others as well.)
EDIT: Four of us, my bad.

I was wanting to wait for one other member, but 3 will be fine. As for posting order, I propose:
1. Me
2. Michael
3. Ileana
4. new player (if any)
5. new player (if any)
and so on.
Would this be acceptable? Once we get Maleficent situated and able to understand most of what's going on then we can get started. And no, Maleficent, I'm not calling you stupid... I'm just saying I want to be sure you understand what's going on with the concept of the topic and everything. We've all been in the new player position before.
I know I have.

Only three? What about me?

Finally she speaks!
Also... Given your description, Cybele, I'd say your character would best translates to what Dragon Quest 9 calls a Thief class... But in all seriousness I'd rather call it Rogue class just because it sounds more respectable. But yeah, there are scarfs and hoods like the one you described, but unfortunately they're reserved for the "Rogue" class. It's not a bad class to be actually. High focus on item acquisition and deftness, which helps with critical hits.
The order sounds fine to me! I can deal with that easily.

*looks at Sevio with an, are you serious look from behind her scarves and hood before speaking again in her voice that seems to change gender and pitch, however, the changes did not alter the emotionless and otherwise flat tone*
I spoke yesterday asking specifically for you to help me do the conversion thing that Iliana was talking about since I know nothing about your game. I checked the time stamp even. September 17th and as of my clock it's still September 18th for another minute as I type this.
*rolls her shoulders and then crosses her arms.*
My mind thinks there's something to being this 'thief' that you suggest since apparently, you won't budge on letting a fighter be a fighter that essentially wears a hijab. I'd think you could just give me a hood visually but use the stats of another item that whatever actual class it was the person chose. It would require keeping track of things but that's stated in a way in the rules page for general things and what not.
*shrugs*
Have fun playing dress up with your game for me I guess. I eagerly await your results.
*sigh* Cybele, the aesthetic gear selection is just a mini-game I like to play. If you don't want to go through the process, then fine, I wont make you. I just want to do something that's based on DQ9, but that doesn't mean it has to be an exact copy of the game... The group is supposed to be a fan-based parody of the actual game. So please, lets not fight... And I was only playing when I said that "finally" thing... I didn't mean to cause offence... v.v
Anyway... Aesthetics aside... Ileana, it's your turn to post an entrance post, and Cybele if you wanna post in after Ileana, please feel free. Or if you wanna mix up the order please feel free to suggest something. I'm open to suggestions and want to be a bit more flexible for stuff. So please, lets not argue, ok?

*Looks at Sevio confused as she uncrosses her arms and scratches at the back of her head. She'd sigh as she had not been fighting at all and was clearly asking questions and making a statement about the attire restrictions. A shrug though and that emotionless tone again is heard*
Sevio. I was not trying to start a fight. I was suggesting that in your quest to find my niche you consider that the image you make does not have to have a hood on. I'm sure there are other helmets that could be worn 'in game' to represent a 'hat with a veil' essentially. I'm sure I speak for Ileana as well when I say, shouldn't we make sure we have our actual conversions as to 'character type' (ranger, rogue, mage, mystic, ect.) so that we know what our limitations are? I am more of a monk type character but I don't believe that was one of the listed classes. Also I am curious about my familiar because it is essentially all of my elemental powers personified.
