Geryn examined the barrier for a moment and nodded to it. "Alright, just stay out of the way and use those scrolls on him if you have any still." Geryn returned to his use of Crack Beat, mixing in Cross Slash every other attack. When Apeiron figured out the ogre's elemental weakness, and if it was an element Geryn could merge with his skills, the attacks would become death blows. The sheer physical hit added to any elemental bonus would soon leave the boss ogre dead, and hopefully the event over as well.
Aperion moved to behind Geryn keeping him between the main boss and himself, moving quickly, using a speed buff on himself it looked like Geryn was going to move across the field, so he could catch up by moving the long way around the back of the battlefield, also being bound inside of the combat zone, the buffs he kept up on Geryn letting any unnecessary ones drop such as magic defense since the ogre was a purely physical opponent. The other ogres used some type of fire breath, as did the wolves. The main boss showed none of that, but did make large shock wave type attacks that were physical based. Once they got into a good rhythm, he stopped a moment and started spam casting a weakening effect on the ogre to give it a fire weakness. "Fire now" He stated starting to dance around more using the fire scrolls that were left on the boss, he figured the rest had fire resistance so he had a decent number of fire scrolls left which were being spammed constantly. Geryn should be able to finish it off easily now.
Geryn spammed his attacks as well, using almost all his SP, though he reserved some for a finishing move. When Apeiron gave the element to use Geryn would nod and mix Fire with his attacks. When the health bar was low enough Geryn jumped back to let the ogre stand straight before the final blow. "GiVak Slash!" Aztec, the curved blade, burst into crimson red flames before Geryn struck with four powerful blows that greyscaled the ogre and made the creature drop to the ground defeated.
The music faded back to normal and all the characters that had changed appeared dead on the ground where they were in wolf or ogre form and would soon resurrect, there were very few people standing. Their image appeared into renewed sky, Geryn level 100 blademaster, Aperion level 40 wavemaster, defeated the invader captain. The image would remain in the air for the next hour. Geryn's Inventory was modified to add a special Guild Upgrade, that when used he would submit a form requesting a unique guild upgrade for his guild. Aperion's level was changed to level 100, and received a guild charter with the same ability since he wasn't in a guild. The rest of their equipment was also flagged as rare, and the stats increased by 10%, and stats that were at 0 had 5 points added to them. The equipment was not part of a set called the Mac Anu Defenders set. The unique weapons were incorporated into the set but a set ability was added to each of them that allowed them to be holstered into the armor. They could both now create a push back shock wave which cost the same SP as a lower level maneuver and served only strategic or show off purposes.
Aperion's Experience bar filled and stayed he was now max level, a large jump from the mere level 40 he was, he had more than tripled his level in a single encounter. That wasn't supposed to be possible he figured it must have been a mod consideration for the feat of Geryn and himself completing this herculean task as a duo team when it was clearly designed for a much larger group. Then he noticed a special guild charter in his inventory. "So I don't think we were supposed to be able to complete that with just two people."
Geryn nodded and checked his inventory, making a mental note to examine the guild upgrade closely later on. "Alright Apeiron, what were you talking about before the event. You said you saw the Book of Twilight?" Turning back to his party member he crossed his arms, Aztec hanging at his side by nothing visible. He liked the new feature to hold his weapon like a sheathed one, but now his mind was back to business and the wavemaster's earlier words which he had not once forgotten about.
"As you might have noticed my staff is a unique item, I have translated the ruins on them and they it ends up that they are parts of the code of the world, and I saw something in it that shouldn't be there, just hints. I simply would ask you to keep your eyes open for odd things there is something not quite right." He stated simply. "We should probably not talk so frankly now that the event is over."
Geryn shrugged once again during their encounter, a habitual expression for him. "Alright, my guild is always on the look out for some new and unique...anything within the world. If I hear anything, I'll consider notifying you." Smiling impishly at his secretive actions the blademaster left the party, forcing Apeiron to speak to him openly if he wanted privacy. "Come by the Umbra with Carmina is reopened. My member address will get you discounts at the store and free drinks in the tavern."
"I will make a point of it." He nodded to Geryn and logged out, the yellow particle effects washing over his avatar as it dissapeared.
Katan warped into Mac Anu, a first time player logging in for the first time. Looking first at the town he had warped to his mouth flicked into a small smile and he walked away from the Chaos Gate to explore. Much like his offline self Katan was quickly hopelessly lost, stuck in a back alley with too many turns and he had somehow disabled the mini-map without knowing how to re-enable it. Leaning against the wall of the alley he sighed and crossed his arms, trying unsuccessfully to make a mental map of how he had gotten lost.
