"Thank you!" Posey blurted out loudly, her eyes bright. She looked down almost immediately, her face red. "Thank you, really." She repeated.
Donovan smiled and threw his arm around her. "Hey, you got nothing to worry about. You don't have to be nervous. We all may change it different beasts, but we're all the same."
Posey straightened, her eyes widening at the sudden and rather unfamiliar contact. She relaxed after a while, then smiled widely. "Y-Yeah? Yeah. That sounds great." She took a deep breath and laughed a little, her dark eyes darting around the room. "Though I suppose I'll always be jumpy."
Donovan chuckled with her, looking over at her. "I promise I won't scare you, alot. Every now and then, maybe, just to get you up." He said jokingly
What was she supposed to say to that? Was she supposed to be honest? Or was she supposed to play along? Was this a joke? How did people just... get social clues right away? Posey's eyes widened and she looked down at the ground, her face burning bright red. "U-Um, okay..." She managed to reply. It was hard to swallow.
Donovan looked at her and saw her face was red. He chuckled and patted her shoulder. "I'm just playing, I ain't going to scare you."
Nairn heard the tail end of their conversation and tapped Donovan's shoulder. "Hey man, the joking's my thing. You're the nice one."
Donovan chuckled at him and patted his shoulder hard. "If you say so, seeing as how fawn you are of jokes."
Husk almost half smiled. "I think Donovan is better at puns than you."
"Oh no, you're not dragon me down with just one pun." Nairn said with a wide grin.
"I had a feeling that you would buck up to a challenge." Donovan said, chuckling.
"Oh my deer Donovan, you already know me too well." Nairn chuckled. He hadn't had this much fun in a while.
Posey giggled, her eyes darting back and forth, watching the encounter between Donovan and the light haired boy. She still didn't quite understand what exactly was funny about what they were saying, but the reactions of each person as they replied to the other was pretty funny. It was actually pretty nice seeing others talk. It certainly beat sitting up alone and she was starting to feel a little more comfortable around the members of her group.
Donovan tried to say something, but laughter just came out. "Oh, this is gonna be a good year."
Husk smiled. He wanted to join in with a pun of his own but he would probably mess it up so he didn't say anything.
Nairn noticed and smiled. "Cmon Husk, where's your joke? There's no such thing as bad humour. I should know!"
As Nairn talked to Husk, Donovan looked over at Posey. "See, you got nothing to worry about, especially with me around."
"No thanks, I'll leave the jokes to you." He stuck his hands in his pockets and looked around wondering what was next up on their tour.
John smiled, glad to see his pupils were getting along so well. "Since you'll be moving into the dorms in a couple of hours, we can just skip that for now, and go for a short hike if you like." He glanced down at a silver watch on his wrist. "We have at least fourty minutes until we have to switch, if you all would be up for a stroll through the forest."
Once Donovan heard this, he looked up at John. "Question, are there any like rives, lakes, or ponds nearby?"
