Rules

  • The Dragonstead Tavern & Inn is a Strict RP dream, and though the standards of Strict RP are to be upheld, we invite and welcome all experience levels of Roleplayers to find their place here. With strict RP as the standard, we expect the Continuity of the world to be adhered to, however, a Moderator will not always be present to supervise the RP therefore, here are the core rules which must be followed to create a more pleasant and cohesive RP environment for all.

-This dream uses the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game rules for Combat interactions. Therefore, if a player would like to become involved in combat situations, he/she must first create a character in accordance to the rules of Pathfinder RPG. If a player would not like to be involved in Combat, a character sheet is not required, and the consent rule applies.

For those currently unfamiliar with the Pathfinder RPG rules, you can view the extensive ruleset online for free at the Pathfinder Resource Document.

-In combat, you must first state your actions OOC (ie. move and attack target), then make the necessary rolls to determine your successes. Once rolls have been made, you may make an IC post detailing your actions.

-Races and classes allowed in this dream will have a few restrictions in order to make the rules more compatible with play in Furcadia as well as compatible with the Continuity.

Restricted Races are as follows: Merfolk, Advanced Races, Monstrous Races (except Centaur), Very Powerful Races, Unknown Races

*A character may play as a feral animal as long as it is on the animal companion page and you have an avatar available to accurately represent your chosen animal.

    Restricted Classes are as follows:
Cavalier, Gunslinger, Summoner, Unchained Classes, Spiritualist

-It is to avoid complications that summoning classes and all summoning spells are restricted.

-A character with an animal companion must create an alt for their animal companion or have another player play as that animal.

-Ability scores are determined through a 15 point buy. (Point Buy Calculator)

-All characters will start with average starting wealth for their class and can gain more wealth at a moderator's discretion. Adventuring gear will cost in game coin, but smaller exchanges such as buying food and drink will not effect the character's wealth total.

-All characters start with 0 Experience Points and will gain more at a moderator's discretion. Character's will level up on the fast leveling track as displayed here.

-Use an online character sheet host such as Mythweavers or a similar site to keep your character sheet and have it open as you play in the Dragonstead. Also keep a link to your character sheet available in your description or on your character's website, so that moderators can easily access it and check it for inconsistencies. You must get a character sheet approved by a moderator before taking part in any Combat or die rolling situations while in the Dragonstead.

-No advanced technologies allowed. The Dragonstead is a low technology dream, which is why classes such as gunslinger is prohibited. Explosive powders are currently non-existent in this setting. Time travel is also prohibited. The Dragonstead has a very real past and present, but the future remains unwritten.

-Any IC or OOC arguments can and will be settled by a moderator if necessary. Moderators will not always be present, so more importantly, be civil to one another, be honorable, and always consider the feelings of others.

-Paragraph RP is not required, but it is highly encouraged.

-Respect the rounds. 1 post per character in each interaction until all characters in that group have posted.

-Within the Dragonstead, death is considered permanent, however ressurection is a function of the Pathfinder RPG and this service can be somewhat easily attained at the Cathedral of the Divinity.

-Read this helpful post by Talzhemir to better understand playing in a Strict RP Continuity.

Thank you for reading the rules of the Dragonstead Tavern & Inn! To enter the dream, search the rules for the letters in bold. Those letters will form a sentence that you must say to the storyteller in the entry room.
