Rebekah had no idea how she misstepped the way she had. She fumbled with herself for just a moment before looking up. There was no way she could have missed this woman, they stood nearly eye to eye. Rebekah's eyes narrowed at the obstacle for just a brief moment. "No problem. If you tried to get over here to see what that fuss was about, they're just cleaning up now. No reason to push on further."
A surprised chuckle escaped Awilix's lips as the other woman suddenly became confident in herself and made a rather crude joke.
"I like you," she purred, a inspecting the woman with predatory gaze. She looked down at Suku as Mercy asked about the cat. "This is Suku," she said, stroking behind his ears. "Suku, my new friend wants to meet you." she said to her companion.
The cat padded forwards and then rose to stand, using Mercy's body to support his weight. Then the cat liked the girl's face a few times before lowering himself back down.
"Suku seems to like you too." she laughed. "Well, you've earned my attention, so are you going to tell me why you've come into my camp, or shall we skip right to my tent so you can show me all about your skill in the bed chamber?" she asked in a teasing tone.

Jillian gave her a big grin tilting her head to the side. "I know exactly what the fuss was about. Those are mighty fine weapons, I would love to take a peak at them. I have a touch of knowledge in first age technology and haven't seen those outside the south!" She said deciding to be honest. Worst case scenario the woman snubbed her and she'd have to resort to finding which camp she was sleeping in that night.
Rebekah really didn't like how this started, but she needed to keep moving before everyone else realized she was the one who caused the commotion. Too much attention too early was just annoying. "Come with if you want to see it, I want to get out of this buzzing circus. You can help me with these straps too," She shrugged in her breastplate. "I'm tired of having to threaten the boys every time they try something stupid."
A small relief and some nagging feeling in her head said that she wanted to watch her curious new acquaintance with her firewand. She'd get to at least handle the one that Rebekah made from scratch. The alterations would probably interest her if she had a genuine interest. The Captain's wand was still tightly wrapped in oilcloth, and would stay that way for a while.

The reply made Jill beam glad she had taken the gamble on being honest. Then again most things that came out of her mouth were, surprisingly so for someone who had started out as a petty thief. It hadn't dawned on her to bank on the fact that there weren't many women here, but that would work out for her as well she supposed. "Great, happy to assist. How are you so sure my hands won't wander where they aren't supposed to go?" she smirked as she fell into step with the red haired woman.
Rebekah slumped her head into her hand as they walked. Not exactly what she was hoping for, but hey, it was her fault for saying it the way she did. "At least I get to threaten someone new? She stopped dead in her tracks and stared through her partner, "If I don't like how you touch me or any of my things, I will break those pretty little legs of yours and dump you into the ocean bleeding faster than I can reload my toys. She accentuated her statement with a matter of fact grin and started once more back to her camp.
After a brief moment of silence between them, Rebekah struck up the conversation again. "Who are you here with anyway? I'm the arms commander for the High Water Company.

The threat made Jill giggle but not for the reasons the woman would think. Unless she was more than a mortal, she highly doubted the woman could follow through but she was impressed with her confidence. "The ocean is a long way to haul me just because I grabbed your ass but I'll keep that in mind and keep my hands to kyself. You're not really my type anyway," she winked.
"Not with anyone yet, just passing through and saw the excitement. My name is Jillian. You can call me Jill, or Whispers or Silver. Actually you can call me just about anything you'd like."

"All right Silver, you can call me Ruby. You have something you specialize in? Might be able to direct you to the right group. For example, me and me men are siege craftsmen. If you need something big to hurl other things at an even bigger problem, we're who you need. Personally, I work a lot with firedust from the South, and they give me the support I need. Speaking of support, here we are."
The tents had been put up and they were assembling some makeshift tables. Rebekah assumed that cards would be coming out shortly. She headed towards the largest green put-up they had in the area and went to make sure her trunk had made it. The boys looked her way and when she nodded, half of them disappeared into the crowd, most likely to get drunk.

"Oh colors, I like the theme. Yup, I make things dissappear and dismantle stuff, mostly really old stuff. Don't worry, I can put things back together too. I'm not really here to fight but it should be an interesting time, yes?"
Jill glanced around the camp and swished her tail at a few men who were looking at it. She was used to be an oddity but it wasn't like it was all that uncommon around there. Being an outcast was the norm for her and it didn't bother her much.

"Well, if you want a place to work that has a good chance of being the first to get through the walls, you're there. I'm betting there isn't anyone here set up like my boys." Satisfied that everything was where is should be, Rebekah sat on a cat...cot. She sat on a cot, and noticed a tail passing through the air behind Silver.
"...Interesting. Yes, it will be a very interesting time indeed. She started fumbling with the buckles on her armor to keep from staring for the moment. "You mind? It's like trying to scratch an itch you can't reach sometimes.

"Well, I'm not a front lines kind of girl but I'll keep that in mind," she shrugged as she turned her attention to the buckles expertly popping them off. Jill wasn't the most proficient with armor but she knew enough that she was as skilled or more so than a normal squire. "Not a common profession for a woman, not that I'm one to judge."
"Oh, ha, no way will we be front lines. From what I've heard, I expect to have some blockheads distracting the magic folks up top. No way are my boys going in without a screen."
The last of the buckles came of and Rebekah held the pieces before they clattered to the ground. "Ahh, so much better. Thank you" She stood up, rested the plates on the cot, and began rummaging through her trunk. She stretched her lithe frame, unburdened from the metal, and found a simple blue tunic to change into once she got the padding off. She took the metal faulds from her hips and bound a leather bandolier in its place, putting each wand in it's proper place and securing them to her plain leather breeches. "Common, no, sure. But it was necessary at the time. This is one my last expeditions with the Company before I walk off on my own. Want to go out and find something decent to eat?

"Hmm, magic folks huh?" she said musing over the prospects. Sorcerers tented to mean a higher likelihood of Exalts and that meant more chances of artifacts.
Jill help3d her put of the rest of the armor before asking, "You're going outo on your own? Any particular reason?" Her eyes lit up as she grinned "Find something to eat? Yes, I'm starving!"

"Gods yeah, I need a chance to see what there is. Served in Lookshy as an engineer, left after term, came into some financial troubles. This excursion settles me with High Water, and I get to keep what I found on my last trip down by Chiascuro. Calling it a win at that."
A purse of scrip was the last to come out of the trunk before Rebekah put the deadlock back on. She motioned for Silver to lead the way out for them. "I've been here only a little longer than you, let's see who makes the best whatever they serve here. Now that you have my story, what's yours?"

Mercy pet the big cats head and scratched it behind the ears. The low rumble of its purr was something astounding compared to her little ginger cat at home.
My duties for the morning were finished, and this looked like the most interesting place. A cup o’ale and a right proper brawl is better than an hour in the drill yard any day in my book. she rotated her hurt wrist. Begin yer pardon M’Lady, I’m sure I should be flattered, but I’ve spent the extent of my free time, and my own Lord’ll be expecting me back at camp shortly, or I’ll be mucking out the stables for nigh a week.

Awilix frowned, there went her fun.
"Well we can't have that. Come to my camp anytime you wish, Mercy of An-Tir. Even if you smell of horse shit." she winked before heading back to her seat.

"You found something good in Chiascuro?" she said, her ears perking up. Jill had never been that far south and was curious what wonders lay there. She got extra chipper then. "Food? I'm starving! Now you're talking my language," she grinned and started away from the camp. "My story? My folks left me in the streets of Nexus and I had to figure out things myself. Had a turn of events that helped me meet some friends and switched careers." Jill shrugged, there wasn't much to elaborate on thathe, not without explaining her turning into a chosen of Luna anyway.
"Sounds about right. I was left on a ship. Captain made a mistake, and the crew wound up dumping me in a port. Made money how I could, wound up here through happenstance."
The reached a mess camp area, benches and people, sitting, talking, gambling. Seemed like any soldiers dream of waiting for battle. The purse wasn't even necessary. One of the cooks saw the girls and brought some crusted bread and salted pork stew when Rebekah waved. Wasn't great, but it certainly beat ship rations.
"I couldn't find anything NOT good in the city of glass." She spoke between mouthfuls. "It's where I learned how to put this together." Rebekah pulled out the wand that she fired earlier. The bronze tube was ornately decorated with silver filigree. She had already removed the dust from the quickloader, so was relatively comfortable letting Silver handle it, especially with her second one in quick reach under the table.

Jill dug into the food immediately, she'd hunted a few things on the way and was ready to have something with real flavor to it. Once the fire wands was brought out, her ears swiveled all the way forward and she pushed the food aside for a second, wiping her hands off politely before she picked it up to inspect it.
"You made this?" she said turning it over in her hands. Jill was impressed a mortal could work up something so complicated, which made her a touch suspect that the woman was more than she seemed. "Not many people can master this level of technology easily."

"Broke about a dozen before I figured out just the firing chamber. Even have the first one I got my hands on back in the trunk. Still works, but missing some pieces I couldn't copy, so I made some of my own. Even have a twist on the dust refinement, kind of a signature of sorts." There was more than a hint of pride in her voice as she went over it's history.
"You're talking a lot like you know the workings, but you've never been to the South? Where did you first encounter these little trophies?"
