Derek crossed his arms. "Well, I know you're more than just a car. You're just a heartbroken soul who needs a little love and attention.. At least now you can move around. " He said after he'd redone each of the tires. He felt exhausted.. The cosmetics would have to wait until tomorrow. "There's a paint place next to the sport shop, so I can paint you there, any design or color you like, as long as it's not too difficult for me to do."
''Could you paint me purple?'' She asked, engine humming.
Derek grinned. "Of course, that's really easy. Besides, purple's my second favorite color, alongside black. I'll get leather seats, too, and maybe I can get the air conditioner working.. The whole nine yards..." He trailed off, sitting on the side of the pavement.
''I can drive myself, but anyone can manually drive me. A flaw in the plan of humans wanting the perfect machine to destroy the things they hated..''
He nodded. "I'd think so. We'll have to do the cosmetics and air conditioner tomorrow... I'm exhausted. Since you're running now, I'm sure you can find a garage somewhere to sleep in, then tomorrow, like I said, we can get started on the AC and the stuff that makes you comfortable and good looking."
CD reverses into am old garage that was behind her. The garage was only part of one that had once existed in the lot, as the foundation around it revealed outline of 10 more garages. They used to hold other cars, but alas, time had attacked so bsdly that it had eaten the bricks away until only one remained.
