The teacher, a young man in his 20's, greets them.
The bell rings, signalling the beginning of class.
The teacher looks at a clock on the wall and closes the book she was reading. She then stands. "Good morning and welcome to math class." She analyzes the room, her cold blue eyes scanning the student's faces. Her voice was a mixture of monotone, elegant, and analytical. She had a mild British accent.
"My name is Mrs. Stoneset." She writes her name on the board behind her. "Now, before we begin, I'd like to say that I do not tolerate cheating. Thus, any ability use is banned from this class unless truly necessary."
"Great. Let's begin by opening our textboo-" She's interrupted by yelling coming from the hall. "What in the world," she mutters, going over to her desk and grabbing a phone, ready to call campus security or the principal. "I wonder who's disturbing classes out there."
The building's fire alarm goes off. "Alright, everyone. It seems we're having a fire drill on the first day. Odd, annoying, but required. Please line up and exit the building in an orderly manner."
Mrs Stoneset returns, the alarms being shut off. "Apologies students, we had a situation. Let's resume."
"Now, let's open our textbooks to page 15 and start going over the lesson.."
