It's like a mini gymnasium, only there are safety mats everywhere.
Rowan swung her arm across her body, catching it with her wrist and stretching it back. Ro then repeated it with her other arm, and then finally swung both her arms behind her to finish up the last of her stretches.
Rowan was wearing a grey tank top with the word, 'unfinished,' plastered across the chest, the arms clearly having been cut off. She wore cycling shorts beneath the shirt and simple, coral-colored sneakers on her feet. They jumped back and forth as she exhaled, putting her fists up to begin her routine.
Then, quick as a flash of lightning, Rowan struck, her fists flying faster than raindrops as she moved around the room, occasionally hitting the mats on the walls. Suddenly, taking a deep breath, she ran at the nearest wall, gaining two steps up and over before flipping off it and dropping into a shoulder roll. She stood up afterwards, brushing herself off and continuing to practice the style her friend had taught her.

The teacher stands in a nearby corner, watching Rowan. "Nice form. You'll do well in this class. You're here for homeroom then combat, yes?"
Rowan turns over her shoulder to face her apparent teacher. "Uh, yes, I do believe so," she replied, her eyes looking upwards as if looking at a list only accessible in her skull. "I hope what you say will be true."
The teacher nods. "I hope so too."
Rowan froze suddenly when the first bell rung, her ears instinctively searching for the source of the sound. She then looked to her teacher. "Alright, now what?" She asked, but then corrected, "For homeroom, that is. I mean, what do we do for homeroom?"
"I'll be going over what we'll learn in class, and I think we have an assembly today. I'm not sure though."
Rowan nodded. "Alright, cool." Rowan shoved her hands in her pockets and began to walk around the gym aimlessly, occasionally dropping into a lunge.
She walks to the center of the room and blows her whistle. "OKAY EVERYONE! Come and take a seat, homeroom is starting!!"
Rowan's head turned sharply toward the teacher as her voice rang out, the rest of her body lingering for a moment before turning too. She then sat closer to the teacher- as compared to where she was- and crossed her legs crisply, her ears giving the teacher their full attention.
"Welcome to homeroom! The name's Ms Shelby, and today we'll be going over the basics of the Combat class, then you'll have a bit of free time before class actually begins. Got that?"
Rowan nodded, still listening, understanding.
"Alright! The main focus of Combat is to teach you how to defend yourself and think strategically in a fight. We'll also go over basic fitness during some parts of the year." She glances around the group of students to see if anyone has their hand raised.
Rowan did. After getting the nod from Ms. Shelby, she asked, "Does that include sports? Like no-maj school sports?" The last bit was just for clarification.
"When the weather is good, we'll be outside doing sports or running. Otherwise we'll do basic fitness exercises in here, or of course combat lessons."
Rowan gave the teacher a double thumbs up to show her understanding.
She nods in reply. "Something I want to say really quickly is that if anyone taking this class attacks someone at any point during the year, they will be removed from the class and be put into a study program in the library."
