This is the center of the campus. Leading to each area is a paved path, and this is an area linking all the paths. It's a popular hangout spot.
The two girls arrive at the center, looking for something to do. Breakfast wasn't going to be served for another hour or so.
Blaise walked into the center and leaned up against a wall waiting for breakfast. While he is waiting he started tossing around a ball of fire and having it change into different shapes and sizes.
This catches Gracie's attention. She watches Blaise. Suddenly, Hihi's crystal ball fell off of the zipper it was attached to. Gracie gasps and crouches to look at it, alarmed. Kate's attention snaps to Gracie. "Why are you looking so worried? It's just a glass ball," she points out.
"Well, I- You know about that old lady I help out sometimes, right? Yeah, it was a gift from her. I don't wanna break it," Gracie blurts, remembering that only she and other Witch Apprentices would be able to see Hihi in her crystal ball. She picks up the glassy, light green ball and inspects it, making sure the fairy inside was okay before reattaching it to her backpack. Kate glanced at her sister suspiciously.

I don't wanna break it," Gracie blurts, remembering that only she and other Witch Apprentices would be able to see Hihi in her crystal ball. Blaise hears the ball hit the ground and looks over at them and said "What was that? Do you need any help?" He could sense the height signature of the fairy but seeing the girl's expression decided to keep it a secret for now. "You should be more careful with that stuff, they are very breakable."
"Ah.. It's nothing, but thank you," Gracie says. "Uh, I gotta use the bathroom." She wanted to go somewhere private where she could apologize to Hihi.
Kate sits at a nearby bench and takes out a Nintendo 3DS and starts playing some random game. "Really? You just went! How much water did you drink last night?!" She has a joking expression. "Whatever, fine by me. Just be back soon!"

"Ok." He shrugs and sits down on a bench opposite Kate and starts messing with his ball of fire again. "So what kind of outstanding thing can you do?" He asks looking at Kate.
"Well, a lot of stuff. Telekinesis, telepathy, healing minor injuries, and a few other things, I guess. Far as I know, Gracie, the girl with me, can do some of that, too," Kate says. She then sticks her hand out, holding her 3DS with her free hand. "The name's Kate."
Blaise nods and says, without shaking her hand "My name is Blaise, I would shake your hand but when I touch someone I do not completely trust my body temperature becomes that of a fire so unless you are also immune to fire or slightly resistant I will not shake your hand sorry." He says as he extinguishes his ball of fire by closing his hand.
"Oh, okay."
Gracie returns and plops down next to Kate. She then pulls a textbook out of her backpack and pages through it.
"Whatcha reading?" Kate glances at the book, which was about history. "Oh, cool." Kate returns to her 3DS. "Oh, wait!" She snaps the 3DS shut. "This is Blaise," she tells Gracie, who nods in acknowledgement.

"Hi, I am assuming your name is Gracie." He says waving, "I am Blaise I am half Phoenix with the power over fire and no I do not have the immortality of a Phoenix. Where I am from I have earned the title Fury of the Phoenix, as I sometimes have a hard time controlling my anger." He says putting one of his hands in his leather jacket pocket.
"Yeah, I'm Gracie," Gracie says. "Huh, really?" She says once Blaise's explanation was finished.
"Wow," Kate says. "That's pretty interesting."

"Thanks, most people do not really believe me when I say I am half phoenix, but since I am here it looks like people believe it." He says with a small smile. "I do not really have many friends, mostly enemies because people do not believe me, I am hoping we can be friends."
"Well, I get why people wouldn't believe. Oh, and I'm hoping we can be friends too," Kate says, smiling.
"Thanks," He says returning Kate's smile with a nod. "I am not very expressive, the only expression I show is anger and the way to tell when I am angry with something or someone is when my irises ignite."

Kate is absorbed in whatever she's doing on her 3DS, but still hears. "Wait, what? Really??"

"Yes really. Just a second," He closes his eyes and then when he opens them again, But instead of having orangish red irises, they were replaced with actual flames. he kept them open for a bit then blinked again, and his irises returned to normal. "I can sort of control when I am angry or not, but not for long and it is not real anger."
"Huh." Kate says.
Gracie gasps. "That looked really cool."
