I'm reposting the summary I put in the LFRP thread here.
Aftbide is a village in the middle of cold nowhere, its only unique feature being that it rests under a great mountain; the lord of that village lives in his castle on said mountain. Its not visited often by common folk other than merchants during the summer who come to trade for certain goods. One night the village is taken by a villanous clan of bandits and their chief who kills the local guard and keeps the surviving villagers prisoner as they eat the stores the locals harvested for winter. Nobody outside the village (except the lord) knows anything is wrong so the bandits get away with this for two weeks.
Then my oblivious character Tara shows up hoping for a place to stay after she climbed down from that big mountain. The bandits, disguised as guards, try to kill her and steal her stuff so she defensively kills one and injures the other before running into the alleyways. To see if the town really is occupied by brigands she goes into a house to investigate; thats when she's grabbed by Katja and her Knights of the People! The knights are there at the lord's request to deal with the outlaw problem. Initially they think Tara is a bandit but once that's sorted out they strike an uneasy accord to fend off the bandits who are now knocking down doors to find the intruder(s). Katja mentions there's a blind albino fellow they need to defend in the meantime, so when the bandits show up they do just that (after the blind boy accidentally ruins their ambush). One of the militiamen named Drake murders a few guys; so does Katja, but in the process she accidentally blew a gigantic hole in the side of the building with alchemy (whoops.) So Tara points out they should leave and they do that too, just in time to see the building collapse behind them. Since the village has no walls they're able to just walk out of it into the woods.
The Knights of the People have a camp nearby that they go to to tend wounds and plan another attack. But when they reach the edge of said camp blind boy Marcello notices there's a magic protective ring that would expose his true identity as a Cambion (half demon.) Tara sees Drake is revealed to be an orc and figures Marcello can't be all that bad and tries to coax him across... only to see what he is and accidentally bring the camp mage and orc down on him. There's a brief chase, Tara tries to defend Marc and fails. Then she and Drake argue and he takes them back to camp (Marc unconscious, Tara pouting and him also pouting.)
The next day things become a bit hectic. A boy named Tom stumbles into camp, seemingly injured. Marcello is healed and awake by now and can sense something odd about him. The cambion also keeps smelling odd things from the woods! The first time he investigates he and Tara run into a man who refuses to give his identity but states he's from the lord's castle. He gives Tara a package, telling her to return it to Katja. The two return to camp and split off; Tara heads to the knight's tent while the albino man hears a commotion from outside camp and goes to investigate.
Tara shows up and tells Katja the news, leaving with her the package just in time for the arrival of the lord's servants to be heralded. The knight, with Tara's help gets her armor on and meets with the two-- Taff and Lwyncelyne-- only to hear that the king of the realm is dead and they're searching for his son. Coincidentally that man was the one Tara talked to earlier; realizing he probably walked into the bandit-filled town, the two collectively panic for a few seconds and then prepare to return to Aftbide. Taff goes to Kerik's tent upon being informed of the boy and Lwyn seeks out the cambion.
Marcello runs into a harpy and a man who just fell out of a tree; they'd been grappling up there and slipped, landing on the forest floor. He succeeds in breaking it up; the harpy leaves for Aftbide while the man-- or rather, the boy-- proceeds to consistently get on his nerves. Marcello and his conversation grows heated, to the point of threats. The boy kisses the cambion to spite him (weird I know) and by extension further incites his rage. Lwyncelyne has been searching for Marcello and finds him just in time to witness his predicament. If the lad doesn't stop, Marcello made it very clear that he might carry him to the canopy of the forest-- and after that the boy can only imagine what grizzly fate awaits.
Meanwhile, Kerik the bandit has had a lovely morning being beaten by Drake. Tom stumbled into the tent the brigand's being held in and told the orc that if he heals Kerik, Tom will help with the interrogation. What they don't know is that the boy is capable of supernatural feats; he puts the bandit in a trance and demands that he comply, implying that if he doesn't he'll be raised as an undead of some kind. Kerik obeys and tells him everything he asks, still there when the boy reveals his identity as a lich. Drake naturally doesn't care and so when Katja rallies her men he leaves; initially intending on giving Kerik a chance at redemption but deciding once Taff arrives that it isn't worth it.
Oh also that man who left the package with Tara has indeed walked right into the village and was initially locked in the tavern with a large portion of the villainous bandits still there. He's incidentally met with their chieftain, Grum the Pineless. Grum has taken the unwitting king to the town's jail, where he's been holding the villagers he has no use for. They're all in deplorable conditions, hardly any of their needs being met. The man, called Merthyr, snatches the key from Grum's hand when they reach his cell and subsequently pleads for the chieftain to show his captives more mercy.
Worked on the summary, I hope its not too disjointed. If it is I'll just have to write a new one from scratch.

Let me know if I missed anything that last post, the entire time I was typing it there were a bunch of things going on around me.
BY THE POWERS VESTED IN ME, I RESURRECT THE THREAD!
Well well well look who's here.. welcome back
This week I am in Germany due to business travel, my replies may have to be tragically shorter than i would like them to be

Oh, I wanted to mention that I don't believe any of the guards from the prison are dead. At the very least there's one of them there that freed the others. I figure there might be a few deaths among the men who were residing in the barracks connected to the prison, so Merthyr can have some weapons from them. Just wouldn't be the fellow who freed them.
He's one of my characters. Though his role in this story isn't going to be very important.
And don't worry about reply lengths, its np.
Side note: I imagined that the ghost monster that appeared sounds kinda like the red guy in this vid. ... don't watch the entire thing if you think you're gonna play the game.

Are we going to post in Raid of Aftbide to finish off the story (wrap it up) on how the dark creature was destroyed? or we just leave it as it is and you mark it off as (completed)?
We technically could but I don't think the mods would appreciate us necroing a thread. I think its better to leave off. It helps others integrate themselves into the developing story to have a vague moment anywho.
