Just posting this here preemptively for the next Aftbide adventure. If this keeps going the way it does we might end up having a mini world for ourselves.

Aftbide, once a village of little import, became the grounds of a catastrophic battle. Homes were destroyed, blood shed, weapons clattering to settle in the mud.

In the beginning, all anyone could expect was a skirmish; running off a clan of bandits who had taken the village for themselves. But as the bandits lost their nerve a new enemy was awakened. The visitant, a shadowy being clad in ancient armor, appeared at the call of the bandit chieftain and slew many, devouring the essence of those it killed to further empower itself. It shrieked in such an unholy cacophony that its coming was heralded for miles, and it shed the snow from the mountain peak north of the village.

In the confusion a warrior named Tara Faolan fought against the bandit chieftain, Grum the Pineless, to liberate the yet uncrowned king Merthyr. The chief relented but kidnapped the king's personal manservant and close companion, Taff.

Eventually with the help of the Knights of the People and the king's army, the monster was contained and banished, leaving nothing of itself to remain. But Grum was still at large, many of his bandits escaped and the village was in complete disarray. The king's army sent what it could to find the minotaur and his captive, to no avail. Half a fortnight, largely spent with reparation and recovery, passed quickly. Many died from their wounds in that time; many others were found already dead in the houses dotting the grounds. Sickness became a constant menace and the winter rations were all but gone. Worse yet, a pall took the skies above since the wraith's banishment, one which eventually yielded a blanket of snow upon the land.
Sounds awesome already
I was gonna say, I'm hoping to use Grum's absconding of Taff as a means to transition the story to focus on a new antagonist. I feel like the chieftain's animosity towards the crown would get the interest of others.

And being that word of the king's death just reached Merthyr, it wouldn't be hard to imagine the beginnings of intrigue taking place as well.
All my characters and humble ideas are entirely at your disposal, to use as you see fit so you can get the story well started and set into a direction to RP towards.
Aight well I built the first leg of the new OP. Gonna post it to the top of this thread, but I'll be adding a lot more to it before the actual IC thread is posted.
Any specific ideas for my character or more a fitting in where possible
If its the same character, really you have free reign with that. I figured they were going to travel with Kerik, though I don't know where. They could have even been a part of the battle, or the banishment. I could write it in... but yeah. You're in a position where you could have them do most anything.
I guess I am a more sinister writer and would go for having the lich go to Capital City and bring back king Conrad as a wraith at his command, turning the tables altogether

With the throne ruled by dark magic and those who oppose it being arrested, it would put Merthyr in a very awkward position towards his undead father whilst trying to arrange a rescue of Taff, a capture Grum

This could be a take for RoA3 who knows...
I'd need to find another R word for a third take. Rotini? Rainbow?
Reclaim, Repossess, Recoup, Recover, Regain, Ransom, whoa too many R words

For now... let's focus on RoA 2, I can't wait to see it started!
Would Atoli still fit in this story somewhere? If you'll have me, I could imagine she could have gotten captured by Tara and the group in the chaos. I miss Rp'ing with yall. ;~;
Yeah. Atoli could be in the village still. You control your character so if you want her there I can write it into the opening thread. Don't despair!
Hello there beetle... I am sure king Merthyr will love having you around :D Atoli has a certain bag of his...
Now that Thunder in the Heights is kicked off I can maybe give more attention to RoA. x_X

Edit: It is done. I'm sorry guys, I got carried away with exposition and homely feelings!
Yay! :)

A couple questions for my post; Where should I say Atoli is being held.

Also, ilthelyn, should Atoli should know anything further about Grum that only bandits in his group would? (Like where he might have headed incase something went sour, like it did. The info would be all within reason of course, cause I think Atoli for the most part would keep to herself and only really communicate with the bandit leader when she needed to.)

Feel free to PM me if you think of anything. :>
Well I figured by now the mess in the barracks' jail is cleared out by now so now its just a few cells again. So there'd be room for her to be stuck down there with some other bandits.

I do think that Atoli would have the knowledge of where Grum usually would end up. There's a hideout further south (determined just by the fact that Iskra's bandits are local to the northern mountain range, so if they're competing they're probs not sharing.)
Okay! Good to know, thanks.
Side note, not sure if its obvious but I listened to this mix while writing the OP. Might help set the mood...?

Ooooo, that definitely does!
I feel like my random 'npc' characters are developing lives of their own without my planning them to. D:

Also I realize in this situation I'd make a terrible guard. I'd take one look at Atoli's pouty bird face and think, "She can't be that bad! Lemme just open the door and--" And then chaos. At the very least I imagined it that way.
