If you'd prefer Tara not actually recall she was the leader I can retcon that bit and just say she's familiar. She did appear the same time the bandits working with the militia did though, so she'd be at least a bit suspect.

Oh she can definitely recall her, it’ll make things more interesting considering Iskra is kind of holding Katja captive...or so she thinks.
Katja’s knightly duties are always present, so if the woman happens to slip away while Iskra is in Aftbide, well, that’s on her. Even sick and injured, Katja is very, very stubborn. Plus who wants to spend 25/8 trapped in a whole den of the enemy?

Since you two are in this thread I wanted to ask; do you guys want to make a successor to Rainy night? I felt like when stuff fell off we were on the brink of a potentially interesting new arc. Not sure what you had in mind Beetlebelle, though if you were improvising I'd be glad to brainstorm with you.

Sounds good. Just need to see what Beetlebelle thinks. My rp list is a bit extensive atm but one of them is a halloween thread and another is dying, so it shouldn't be too hard to fit in another.
YEAH! I would love to revive Rainy Night! That was the first RP I joined on this site, I would love to get to be back in it again.

So, it'd be easy to say that the mercenary encounter was just a short incidental thing, but there's this thing about mercenaries historically. That thing is, of course, that they tend to move around in pretty large groups. And when a town can afford to they'll have walls and laws to keep them from residing inside the walls, but I got the distinct vibe the town they arrived in doesn't have any of that.
So maybe this nameless mercenary takes one look at our terrible trio and just thinks, "I can just get some friends to help put these losers in their place."
Sets a new antagonist off the bat. Thoughts?

Sure! That sounds pretty good. Who will be playing as the Mercenary group? I could keep at it since I know you already have a lot on your plate. (but you have such a special touch with alternate npc's) xD

I think when it comes to a potentially large group like a mercenary camp we should all collaborate. I can do heavy lifting but I think it'd be more fun and make the scene livelier if I wasn't the only one playing mercs, even if they are antagonistic.
Usually mercenary groups in fantasy stories have company names. Any ideas? And I don't see why you couldn't join Tusitala. Just gotta work some stuff out before the thread is made, then you're good to go.

So I'm gonna say that the mercenary that ran into Maren is familiar with catching creatures like her to sell. And he's got a bit of an inkling that she might be worth money if he can prove it to his buds. So that would also be another reason why they'll want to tangle with our trio.

@tusitala There aren't strict rules regarding post order. I just like to wait til most people have replied before I do because my characters are in multiple scenes and run a lot of the stuff going on in the thread. So if you want to post a little something in between other folks' posts that's cool. Just don't go crazy.
Side note I've been awake since four am and its seven here now. I must retreat to the nearest soft surface for hibernation.
