The thought of being free from the teoll's grasp was interrupted as fox's grin was wiped from his face by five rock hard knuckles.

Fox flew out of the alleyway into the street, tucking and rolling at just the last moment, then springing to his feet out of the roll.

He glanced at his teammates, he led the charge... was he now going to let them down?

*fox is insecure and guilty*

"You children have no idea who you're up against, I'm afraid. We are the Crime Masters, Masters of-" Scarlet Songbird's monologue is interrupted by Solace.
"We don't have time for these Children, stop playing with them and let's get out of here. Wouldn't want to keep our business partner waiting would we?" you can see a flash of anger cross the old criminal's face at the interruption, but it vanishes quickly.
"You're right of course. Soon enough real heroes will arrive. Let me play you children a parting song." Songbird smiles. With a strum of his magical lute, the world goes fuzzy and then dark.

they just adjusted the labels of Grey Fox, Horizon and I believe Artemis; Savior goes down, Mundane goes up. Normally you'd have an opportunity to deny what they said, but sonbird used his villain move - Put someone to sleep with a magical lullaby. You'll recover in a few moments, but the crime masters will have gotten away! The only clue this group has to go on is a baggie of what appears to be some sort of drug. On it is a music note. And your GM is a total illiterate when if comes to music notes so... no I can't tell you which. For grey fox stepped down savior and up danger
Apollo woke up from the whammy first, face in the street, Grey Fox slumped against a wall and Artemis not far behind himself. Dragging himself to his feet, Apollo shook the cobwebs out of his head and looked around, dismayed that everything was gone. He took his company down into the nearest alley and let them recover on their own, Fox on the wall across from him, Artemis' head resting on his lap. What a terrible showing that was, and we are supposed to be the upcoming heroes, ha!

A small object caught the corner of his eye as Apollo absentmindedly stroked his sister's hair. Slowly, it pulled towards him as it's relative gravity was affected in his concentration, letting it float there in front of him as he studied it. A small baggie with individual paper wrapped pills inside, the only identifying marker was an obscure musical notation, likely at the insistence of that "classically trained" Songbird. Now what, some stupid puzzle game to figure out what's going out on the streets. Wait... Something struck Apollo in the quiet, the fermata on his thoughts finally clearing way for his a tempo

Business partner? That's going to be trouble...
Artemis was already taking off after the trio of villains making off with the mayor when she heard Riptide trying to give off orders. Who did he think he was? They might have agreed to be a team but no one had said anything about anyone being in charge. The brightest star wasn’t about ready to be sidelined to a bit player as a bad guy got away with someone as important as the mayor.

Her frame glittered with sapphire energy as she darted down the streets, picking up Apollo orbiting off in a similar direction. Good she smiled to herself, confident that they could take on a couple of aging criminals without much issues even if he was flaunting quite a bit of his power as usual. Artemis huffed a little realizing that meant she’d have to stay back a bit or he’d really implode the place.

Coming to a halt, Artemis clenched her jaw as she watched as Grey Fox bounced off the side of the alley wall. With the arrival of Solstice they were outnumbered now by much more experienced supers. I wonder what the real Sol would think of this guy? That old giant would likely find him amusing.

She refocused on the Scarlet Songbird just in time to catch their exchange for a second but before she could open her mouth, she felt a fuzziness in her head. Artemis knew something was but before she could do anything about it she had slumped to the ground and everything had gone black.

Artemis lifted her head against the warm figure next to her. A moment passed then she blinked, sitting straight up with a groan of pain as she tried to move away from the contained void that was Apollo.
”Shit, I must have hit my head on the way down,” she said as she rubbed her forehead. Life had been much easier without body parts, rather immobile but she could do without the bruising and general pain that came with the freedom. ”What’s that?”
His eyes narrowing Impulse focused on the gear themed villain. "Stealing toys? That's low!" Impulse shouts. Focusing all of his will power into making the gear master believe they are in a toy store.

❑ Are you watching closely?: When you mislead, distract, or trick someone, roll + Superior. On a hit, they are fooled, at least for a moment. On a 10+, choose three. On a 7-9, choose two.

Feeling himself easily slide into the gear master's mind, Impulse lets out a sigh of relief. As the toys slowly fade into Gearmaster's vision, the villain looks taken aback almost shocked. Quickly using this time to grab the sack and hurl it into the safe and slamming it shut.

"Anyone got a way to handle this guy? Alls i could do was stop him." Jeff says. cracking his neck as if he did all the heavy lifting.

"What the... how did I... where the.... damn it kid!" Gear Master rages. He begins reacting to the illusions, swatting away hanging toys, knocking things over as they make noise or move. To on lookers, he is dodging things that aren't there and smashing the shop at random.
Then he sees something the young hero didn't; the poor sales associate who'd taken cover behind the counter. He grins as whips from the Gears on his suit shoot out and wrap her up, dragging her into his arms.
"Alright kid, you're not so raw at this you don't know how a hostage situation works are you? You take me back to the jewelry store, or- Sandra here gets hurt." he says, checking the woman's name badge. She's crying with fear and begs him to let her go. "Two girls? You here that hero? Sandra's got two little girls to go home to!" he says the word hero snidely.

Impulse was taking on the Gearmaster handily until suddenly there was a poor woman suspended by those blasted whips as he taunted the new hero. Rushing like a current, Riptide slid behind Gearmaster while his attention focused on gloating at Impulse.

Riptide came out from the confusion and stepped up to the offensive whip holding the woman hostage. "We know exactly how a hostage situation works, sir. You let them go, and we take them to safety" Flipping open a flask, he let spill a precious stream of water, coating the whip, freezing it on contact.

Directly Engaging a Threat, trying to take leverage away from Gearmaster, using 1 from the Team Pool as Impulse has the villain's attention, gaining +1 for acting on his answers, taking on a B-list villain he has a chance to hinder.

Crackling ice appears as the gears come to a grinding halt, Gearmaster futilely trying to move the arms to regain control and swinging at the hero as Riptide ducks under and around thrashing whips venting at him in frustration. He pried the frostbitten extension away from Sandra's form and carried her back behind himself and his partner, squaring off in front of the Gold Era Villain.

Danger+1 Team Pool, +1 answers

Sandra thanks Riptide and races off to the police line that's forming outside.
"Hey! Do you know how much those things cost? No respect from today's youth." Gearmaster grumbles. He still doesn't seem to take you guys seriously, as if...
All of a sudden you hear an engine revving and tires screeching. A van smashes into the wall, showering the room in rubble and dust.
The doors open up and you see colorfully costumed goons inside.
"Come on boss, cops is here!" one one of them says. Gear Master sees them, Impulse's illusion not covering up such a violent shift in the scenery quickly enough.
"Well boys and girls, my ride's here." he grins, reaching into his costume and pulls out a gear. He slides it across the floor and as it stops, a cloud of inky black smoke fills the room.

gearmaster uses the villain move; Throw a tricked-out gear perfectly suited to the situation and escapes the scene. go ahead and put some reactions here (both groups) and i'll open the next two scenes tomorrow.
Mom, just five more minutes... Fox mumbled. The pain from the talking brought him fully awake however. He leaned over and looked at the baggie, and furrowed his brow as the siblings talked over the item.

Drugs? Doesn't that seem as little underwhelming for this group? There has to be something more to this than just peddling dope.
