The camp is a grassy glade partially surrounded by tall bushes and shrubs. The grass is tall and soft, and used to make plush nests. The dens are situated under different bushes and reinforced by partially-woven blades of grass.

The leader's den was originally only shared with the nursery in a separate chamber of an old fox's den, but Beetlestar gave his spot to the medicine cat, saying it was a better place to store herbs. While he is now technically supposed to sleep under the bush where the medicine cat's den used to be, Beetlestar will sometimes sleep in different dens for fun. His favorite is the extra-warm elder's den under a flowered shrub.

Beetlestar would have much preferred to sleep in after staying out late at the Gathering, but he knew that being the leader came with responsibilities that required him to be up just before sunrise. The large tom let out a wide yawn and padded out of the elder's den, where he had spent the night.

He sat down close to the middle of the camp and let out a tired sigh. Maybe, if the others woke soon, he could get a head-start on organizing the dawn patrols to make up for Dawnwing having to properly lead the clan both to and from the Gathering. Beetlestar began to lazily groom his long fur a bit as he waited for his clanmates.
Frostwhisper slowly opened her eyes, blinking away the leftover sleep. She stood and stretched, opening her mouth wide to yawn.
She shook out her fur and padded out of the Warriors den, spotting Beetlestar. She walked over and sat beside him.

“How was the gathering? By the time everyone got back I was already asleep.” She asked, her tail twitching back and forth.
laurelleaf didn't dream often. the medicine cat couldn't remember the last dream he had.

tonight was the first night in a while.

he was in water. his pelt was heavy, trying to drag him down. water up to his chin, making his chest heave and struggle under harsh crashing waves. he couldn't catch his breath. there wasn't a chance to. the waves were choppy and violent; relentless. suffocating, heavy, and yet he never went under.

but he never drowned.

laurelleaf woke with a start, his heart scrambling to find a steady pace once again. the world around him was still, quiet.

normal.

the tom rose to his paws, trying to ignore the shaking in his bones.

he padded from the den, careful to not wake nettlepaw. he didn't know why he was trying extra hard this morning - its not like he was a particularly noisy cat anyhow.

the medicine cat blinked in surprise. beetlestar was awake, sitting outside in the middle of the camp. odd.

laurelleaf paused outside his den, frowning to himself. should he tell beetlestar...? he flicked his tail in irritation, in thought. but as he closed is eyes, lost in his mind, images of the high waves, the frothy water crashing down on him came flooding back, leaving the medicine cat feeling uneasy once again.

"beetlestar." laurelleaf spoke, opening his eyes to fixate on the leader. his gaze was hard and determined, not the usual for laurelleaf. he hoped beetlestar would get the message, and come with him somewhere a little quieter.

Beetlestar turned when he heard another cat approach and gave a tired smile. He laughed awkwardly at Frostwhisper's question, looking out at the camp instead of making eye contact. "It, uh, went well, I think. I didn't fall off the rock this time, but I think everyone was bored. Boring times are peaceful times, though!"

The leader was about to ask Frostwhisper how she had slept when he suddenly heard his name spoken. Recognizing the rare voice his expression turned serious as he looked over to the medicine cat. He had known Laurelleaf for his entire life, and knew he wasn't one to speak unless he felt it necessary. "Excuse me, I'll be right back," he said with a polite dip of his head to Frostwhisper. He stood and raised a brow in Laurelleaf's direction, indicating him to lead the way to wherever he wanted to talk.
laurelleaf gave a curt nod towards beetlestar once he met his gaze. the medicine cat turned tail and made way back towards his den, stiff and uncomfortable. he left without a word, but beetlestar would follow him.

nettlepaw would be waking soon, laurelleaf thought as he tiptoed through their den once again. should he wake her? the tom drifted his gaze over his apprentice, tail flicking in thought.

he gave the small she-cat a gentle nudge, hopefully rousing the apprentice from her sleep before venturing further back into their den.

laurelleaf settled himself down in the farthest corner of the medicine cats den, frowning. how would he explain his dream? and how would he get beetlestar to believe it wasnt just a nightmare? the tom gave a soft huff of annoyance, his own shortcomings getting underneath his skin.

he hoped beetlestar would be able to get the gist.

Beetlestar followed quietly, careful of where he stepped in the medicine cat’s den so he wouldn’t risk disturbing anything. He was trying not to let his worry show, but the occasional nervous flick of his tail gave him away. He hoped that whatever it was wasn’t too serious, but he knew expecting so would be foolish.

The leader sat down facing Laurelleaf, making a point to give the other enough space as to not be too uncomfortable. He shuffled his front paws anxiously. “Something’s wrong, isn’t it?” he asked in a low tone, wanting to cut right to the chase.
Frostwhisper watched Beetlestar pad toward the medicine cat, her tail still twitching. She layed where she was, fluffing up her fur against the morning chill, waiting for more of the warriors to wake.
Copperglow awoke to the sounds of chirping birds. Once he came to his senses, he considered how long he could get away with continuing to lie in his den. After a few minutes of lazily lounging, however, he recalled that he hadn’t seen Frostwhisper since the previous afternoon. She’d already been asleep when the rest of the clan had returned from the Gathering.

Copperglow gathered himself and bounded out into the camp, energized by the thought of seeing a friend. He puffed out his chest as he approached her, and tried to put on a bit of a deeper voice when he said, “Morning! I thought you’d be up.” He noticed she was alone and confusion dawned on his face. The suave act fell. “No Beetlestar or Dawnwing yet? Damn, this is a personal record for me.”
Startled from her slumber, Nettlepaw's eyes fluttered open. Relieved to see she was still in the medicine den, she took her time stretching out her back for a moment. Laurelleaf must have woken her up. She turned to look for him.

Beetlestar's here! she realized. Something important must be going on! In an anxious hurry, she straightened herself out and went to go stand by Laurelleaf's side in the most respectful manner she could. She peered up at him, though, unsure what was going on or if something was wrong. And she looked at Beetlestar as well with amazement and anticipation. She just looked back and forth between both of them with wide eyes until one of them said something.
Frostwhisper purred jokingly as Copperglow padded up to her.

“Beetlestar has to go speak to Lauralleaf, and no sign of Dawnwing. Sit with me.” She answered, motioning to the spot beside her with her tail.
Copperglow laughed at Frostwhisper’s purr. “Don’t mind if I do!” He said with a grin, sitting down next to her. He was happy about the invitation to spend time with her, so much so that he failed to remember that sitting wasn’t exactly his strong suit.

He was pretty good at making conversation, though.

“Did you catch what Laurelleaf wanted to talk about? That guy sure doesn’t say much. You think there’s something wrong?”
Frostwhisper shrugged, “He just summoned Beetlestar over and they went to speak in the medicine cats den.” She thought for a moment.
“Maybe there is something wrong, Laurelleaf rarely has to have such private conversations with the leader.”
laurelleaf fidgeted his paws, trying to find the words to say.
his shoulders hunched, the medicine cat tore at the floor of the den with his claws mindlessly, pondering.

"i...had a dream-" he mumbled finally, tongue in cheek trying to decide how to describe the vision he had. "dont dream at all. if any." laurelleaf shot his gaze up to his leader, and then back down towards nettlepaw, a small fire lit in his eyes. it was a medicine cats job to interpret these signs. he might not be good at anything else, but he was good at being a medicine cat. and he knew in his paws something bad was happening.

he flicked his ears in irritation, shaking his head. "there was lots of water; it was like i was about to drown." laurelleaf spoke, trying to shake off the uneasy feeling that had begun to creep back up. "it was suffocating n' big waves...couldnt breathe."
Dawnwing and Peachpelt strolled out of the warrior's den together, tails curled around each other. Peachpelt gave Dawnwing a few affectionate licks and Dawnwing purred in response. The chill of morning air made them press closer together.

"Y'know, you didn't have to wake up this early, you could've gone back to bed," Dawnwing said softly.

"And miss a second of your company? Nah. Plus, I didn't really sleep well," Peachpelt replied.

"A nightmare?" Dawnwing asked, in a hushed voice.

"Yeah..."

"Do you need to talk about it?"

"There was water... lots of water, churning. I was fighting against it, almost drowning, but I didn't. That was about it but, terrifying enough," Peach whispered, trembling a bit as she recounted the dream.

Dawnwing brushed her tail along Peachpelt's back to motion her to stop. They sat and Dawnwing licked Peachpelt's face and brushed against her, comforting her.

"Tell me when you get these, okay? I want to be able to help"

"I will, but for now you've got to worry your tail about your deputy duties. Go find Beetlestar, I'm gonna take a short walk to clear my head, maybe catch something to add to the freshkill pile."

"Hey"

"Yeah, Dawn?"

"I love you"

Peachpelt purred loudly at this. "I love you too."

Dawnwing padded to the center of camp and stretched, blinking the sleep out of her eyes. Looks like she overslept a little today.

"Drats, I should've been up earlier. Morning Frostwhisper, morning Copperglow. Either of you seen Beetlestar yet?"
Frostwhisper nodded and gestured to the medicine cat den.
“Beetlestar went with Laurelleaf to discuss something.”
((I created a profile for Frostwhisper so I'll be replying with this character now))
((Bump))
Beetlestar felt a lump form in his throat as the medicine cat spoke. He didn't know what to do if this was an important vision from StarClan; he hadn't ever dealt with anything like it before. Amberstar had always handled things like this herself. He looked at Laurelleaf with wide, nervous eyes.

"D-Do you think it means something? No, that's a dumb question- of course you do, that's why you asked me here," he muttered, getting lost in his own thoughts for a moment. He caught himself and let out a sigh, sitting straighter and putting on his best calm face. "What do you think we should do?"
Frostwhisper stood from where she was and stretched, fluffing up her fur. She decided to take a short walk around the camp, a short relaxtation before the long day.
