Autumn Romance

"How horrible! I shall go to the library and find a few books then to my room so that I may gather a few things. I shall sit with Kadern as much as possible." Lady Allanna spoke as she quickly stood up.
"Please excuse me for I must hurry along."

"She is excitable over the bite. But she is in love. Would you be able to make the needed potion? Do I need to call for the doctor while I am in town?" King Kadern spoke thoughtfully as he looked at Kava.

"Hmmmm...... I will need to check in with the doctor then. Come along, Lady Avalon. We need to get going. It feels like the winds are getting ready to blow. I should look into getting a healer for here.
"Planned on sending Lady Allanna this spring but that will not help us now." King Albert spoke as he stood up.

Allanna got her shopping basket and went to the library to find a few good books. She was not into romances but loved to read the ones on Herbal Cures. She took one that had a section on spiders and their bites as well as a couple Herbal Cures.

((I think that Stephanwolfe will be a Healer and a Warder plus a bit of dark magic. The reason will come out in the RP. He will have a great many books with him which annoys Wolfgang. LOL)

King Albert smiled at Grand Lady Avalon fondly then turn his attention to Sir Kava.

"Please Excuse us, Sir Kava for it is past time that we left to greet our other guests. We shall return as soon as possible."

He then guided Avalon to the carriage.

Allanna went upstairs and knocked softly on Kadern's door.
"Kadern? I came to keep you company for a while if you are decent enough for me to come in." she spoke softly through a crack in the door.

Slowly the door opened and Allana walked into the room. She walked to the bed and spoke softly.

"Feeling any better? May I bring your desk chair over to sit in?"

Allanna placed the basket down on the floor and got the chair. She sat it next to the bed. She sat down.

" I was hoping that laying down would help you. I could read to you if you would like. Or perhaps play a bit on my harmonium if you would like to hear that."

Allanna spoke softly
"I'll be back soon. Just rest for a bit."
She left to go get her harmonium but she saw a servant on her way. She asked for a table to be put in Kadern's room so that she could use it while he was ill. It was done.

By the time that the table was in place, Allanna was ready to play for Kadern.

"Any particular song that you would like to hear?" she asked.

"Very well then." Allanna spoke as she took the top off the of the harmonium.
She sat down and began to play soft music.

"I taught myself since I hate to be still very long. I tend to be a bit restless if I don't have something to do. I also do needlework and macreme to keep my hands busy." Allanna spoke as her hands kept playing.

"It's my pleasure. Now just rest." Allanna spoke softly as she continued playing.


Albert walked Avalon out to the carriage and helped her up inside before he got in.

"I am sure that Kadern will survive but I don't want him to be in pain or laid up for a long time. I hope that I am not being over protective of him." he spoke as the carriage left for town.

"All that is true. Thanks for understanding." Albert spoke.

"About the guests that we are picking up....... They are not bad people but your father might think that they are. They have studied the Black Arts for a reason and I feel that their reasoning is very valid. I accept them for what they are but most people will avoid them because of their studies."

"Perhaps I should have explained that Alekus was cursed with this black magic. I'll have a quiet talk with Kava later today or tomorrow. I just don't want any fighting is all." Albert spoke quietly as they arrived in town and at the Inn.

There were 2 men who were in an heated discussion next to a stack of trunks. One was older and quite shaggy while the other one had longer hair but younger. The argument was silent so no one would hear it but if you attuned to their magical wave length, you could hear snippets of their argument.

"I am afraid so. Must be one of their intellical magic discussions or Stephanwolfe brought too much. Perhaps both." King Albert spoke softly.

*Enough is enough. I have a lady friend with me so please settle your differences later.* King Albert spoke to them.

Wolfegang and Stephanwolfe turned towards the carriage. They quickly changed their expressions into pleasant smiles.

"Come and meet them. They are not as bad as they seem. Wolfegang is a cousin of mine. Stephanwolfe is 2 years older than Kadern." Albert spoke to Avalon.

"This is my Grand Lady Avalon. Her father is also with us at the castle.
I do have a few requests of the two of you. One. Keep your squabbles to a minimum. Two. Be respectful to all. Three. I would like for one of you to tutor one of my ladies.

Agreeable?" Albert spoke quietly with a firm stern voice.

"Agreeable to one and two but not three. I am retiring totally." Wolfegang spoke.

"I am agreeable to all three. Does this lady have anything?" Stephanwolfe spoke as he smiled.

"No not a thing. I will allow you an allowance and you may purchase the things that she will need including lab things. There are several shops in town where you may browse for supplies. Here is the letter of accepting the charges at the two stores named. Be frugal but get what you need." King Albert spoke.
"You may go now so that you will have what you need and what she needs to learn with and start a lab. The stores will be closing early so make your choices quickly. The great snows are coming."

"I understand and will do my best for this lady." Stephanwolfe spoke and bowed to the king and picked up Lady Avalon's hand to kiss.
"I shall see you later as well. "
Stephanwolfe left quickly to do his shopping.

"Yes, Lady Avalon. We should go at once. Eric! Load up the luggage and take Wolfegang to the castle. Have James take care of settling him in his room. After unloading, meet us right here. I am not sure when we will be back and when Stephanwolfe will be back. Load up what he has unless it is being sent on to the castle." Albert spoke then held out his arm to Avalon.

"Yes, your highness." He sat a couple trunks on the ledge then upwards to the roof. He was quite strong and agile.

"Just a minute, Avalon......." King Albert's eyes narrowed in a cold stare.
"I shall be right back."

He walked up to the caged carriage.
"Driver ho! I would like to speak with you."

"Where are you bound and is this slave girl sold?" he demanded with cold authoritive voice.

"Mind your manners when you speak to a King. Of which I am." Albert sharply reprimanded the slave.
"I understand. How much for the slave? I wish to purchase her and train her for the Royal Castle."

"The crown should have given you a clue. Take her to the back and door of the castle.
Ask to speak to James. Tell him to do the usual. Obey his orders." Albert took out his money bag and pulled out the silvers and counted them into the man's hand.

"Do not cross me or you will me back triple. I can tell when you use them until you have delivered the slave girl to the appropriate person. Understood?"

"Indeed I shall. But first things first. I must be sure that she is loyal to me. WIlling to do the job that she is assigned to. And a few more things. I hope to free in due time. But she will be treated well.

Where she will be kept has a clean bed, table, chair, lavatory and will be fed on decent fare. She will be fine.

Now to the doctor Quinn. He is an older doctor but one day he will retire or die. But he is one of the best around. I need to find a new one and soon." King Albert spoke as he guided her to a small door between 2 shops.

"That is true. He is not married and works day and night. He will die before he retires. And I wonder why the door is locked. Normally, it is unlocked so that anyone can go inside for help." King spoke as he looked around a bit.

He finds a notice that said that the doctor had left town for the season of Blowing Snow.

With a heavy sigh, King Albert showed Avalon the paper.

The castle door open and a man spoke with a stern voice.

"What do you wish?" he spoke simply but authoritatively.
