Autumn Romance

"From the way it sounds, the show jumping one would be the one you would like." Bill smiled in the mirror.
"So is it a he or a she?"

"Jack it is bit it still needs a total of 3 names plus your last name. Any ideas of the other two names?" Bill asked as he pulled in a family restuarant.

"That is a mouthful but it will be quite suitable, I am sure. Plus he will grow into his name. Here is his collar and leash. Put them on and we will go to breakfast." Bill spoke quietly.

Anna smiled as she looked at Kelly.

"Are you ready to eat? We need to be at the house in an hour."

"Yeah....we do have to be there for that. I got a shed coming just in case. Been wanting a couple so I kinda splurged." Bill looked a little sheepish at Anna.

"I'll figure out how to get it paid off, dear." Anna smiled at him.

"Let's go eat. " Bill spoke as he got out and opened the doors for the ladies.

Anna smiled as she got and head to the doors. Once they were inside, they were given a table in a corner where the puppy could be used to strange people.

"We will get the buffet so that we don't have to wait. And here are a few biscuits for Max." Bill spoke as he sat the biscuits on the seat next to Kelly.

"I'll be back soon." Anna spoke as she went to get her breakfast then Bill did the same.

"This food is good here. You come very often?" Anna asked.

"Yep. Me and Kieth meet here once or twice a week. Usually it's fast food." Bill spoke.

"That is why I got Max. He will be your companion dog. I am sure that you and Max will be close friends. Also, that is why Max is allowed to be in the restuarant.
After we get you settled in, Anna will use some of your money to enroll you and Max into specific classes like Obedience Training, Companion Dog Training and Show Jumping. Of course you will need to finish your own education and pass a GED testing.

I couldn't sleep so I decided to think of a few things that you might like to do and while I am your guardian, I feel that I get to have soom input in your life.

You see, being a cop and I am taking classes 6 days a week plus working 6 days a week, I will have a very full schedule. Anna will be alone most of the time since she does not work. I worry about her and with you there, perhaps I don't need to worry quite as much." Bill spoke quietly.
"These things are between the 3 of us. Remember that. You will be considered our daughter and Anna will speak of that when she is ready."

Bill reached over and patted Anna's hand who smiled weakly back.

"You are welcome dear. I hope that you will enjoy living with us. I am ready when everyone else is." Anna spoke after she finished her food.

"It will be a bit longer dear. The owner is here and I need to pay her." Bill spoke as he stood up.

"Good morning Grace. Our daughter has decided that she likes the surprise and we shall take him." Bill spoke as he came aroung and placed his strong hangs on Anna's shoulders.

"This is my wife, Anna and our daughter Kelly." Bill spoke calmly.

"I am glad to meet you both. Bill has volunteered to police our shows for a great many years. You must be proud of him, Anna." Grace smiled.
"Let's go to my Show Home and we will take care of the paper work."

"Sounds like a great idea. " Bill s poke quietly as he helped Anna up out of her chair. He tucked her arm in his and looked towards Kelly to see how she was doing.

"I see that the puppy seems to like you, Kelly. That is a good sign of a good match." Grace spoke then lead them off to her RV outside.

"What about the tab?" Anna whispered.
"I pay at the end of the week, dear." Bill spoke and kissed her gently.

"Behave yourself, Bill." she giggled.

"You don't like blood? " Grace asked as she sat down at the desk inside. She turned on the computer.
"You could think about it a few more years still. College courses will need to come first.

Now the name of your puppy will be once more?"

"Good. Same vet as your father, same address, do you have a phone number?" she asked.

"She doesn't have her phone yet. I'll have Bill give you a call when she gets it." Anna spoke softly with a smile.

"That's fine. Now I need your name and one of your parents name." Grace spoke with a wink.

"This is where you sign, Kelly. Which parent will be the co signer?"

Anna picked up the pen and signed in the appropiate spot.

"Now which classes do you want to be in? How to train your companion dog is one that you must do if you want Max to be a companion dog. But there are others like show dog, jumping dogs classes, gaurd dog class, obediaence training....." Grace asked as she copied the paper into the computer and printed out two copies.

Grace typed that into the computer.
"I have those classes starting in a month. I will send you the exact times about a week before. How does that sound?" she asked.

"Wonderful. Now you will get a special vest for you and your puppy to wear. " Grace spoke as she took out a vest for each of them. Then began to get various books on the care of the puppy like grooming, teaching good habit and breaking bones, excercise is important playtime activity and healthy food styles. These she put in the bottom of a box and added to it. She then out a special puppy drinking bowl and 2 water bottles. A belt with 2 zippered pouches were amoung the other things added to the box. A second box was brought out and two sets of food bowls were placed on top with a food mat.

"All right time to try on the vests and choose a bed." Grace told Kelly.

"There is a spare in the box for you and a larger one for Max. Here is your waist belt to keep on. You have a pocket for snacks and one for your things. A bottle of water for you and a special one for Max. Spare ones in the box. Many toys in the small box here. And there is a food and snack box on the floor.

Perhaps your father would like to bring your car around to load up. I'll give you your tempory paper and your permant one will come in a package. Here is a tag for you to keep with you at all times.
Any questions?" Grace asked.

Bill left to get the car. He didn't realize all that he bought but was glad that he did get the high price package.

Grace chuckled and spoke.
"You are right, Kelly. I'll give you a quick demonstration of how to do it and you and your parents can decide if they want to buy one. It does get very tedious doing the brushing. Brushing does loosen the fur so I'd brush then use the pet blower then brush one last time.

I do have a class on dog grooming which would include the fur blower. I did his fur last night so if you want to wait for a week or so, you can see the fur being remover."

"Max certianly likes you. I will set up an appointment and then you can take Max home. " Grace spoke as Bill came in.

"Is it ok for Kelly to have the class, Anna?' Grace asked.

"Yes, she may. The money is no problem. " Anna spoke.

"Wonderful. How about Monday at 9?" Grace asked.

"It would be fine with me. Kelly?" Anna asked.

"Let's get loaded up. We need to get to the house." Bill spoke as he two boxes from the counter.

"Here are your folders, ladies. It has everything in it." Grace spoke.

"Thank you, Grace for everything." Anna spoke.

Anna followed and opened the door for Kelly. Bill came up and opened the door for Anna. After he made sure the ladies were inside before he got in.

"Alright. Now for the house. All you need to do, Kelly is to put a sticky note on the items that you want. If you want the clothes, just say so and the lady will pack them for you, ok?" Bill spoke.
