"That may be but I wonder what kind of torture a female goes through..." shudders as thoughts floated through her head of what she had seen so far.
" I don't know.. and I don't want to know... I wish we could both just leave" he said looking down " I have never liked it here but I stayed because of my Uncle... And I'm glad I did, or i would not have met you"
"The one bright spot of my life here is you. One day we shall leave and it might not be the way I prefer but we shall leave. " melody looked at Brian with a smile.
" i do love you very much " he said smiling softly at her " so while we are stuck here " let me show you how to care for Prince 's mane incase you ever need to" he said taking out a brush from the saddle bag
"All right. I doubt that he would like braids but a nice brushing should be something that he might enjoy." Melody spoke as she stepped away from her horse.
Brian chuckled softly as he began to work " well first off like your own hair start at the roots and if you find a knot try holding the hair like this and slowly work it out, it will be less painful for him"
"Just like the way I do my own hair. That is quite simple enough for even a novice like me to do." Melody spoke quietly as she stroked Prince's muzzle.
Brian nodded softly " Yeah, my hair is naturally spikey like this, no matter what I do it will not stay down" He chuckled " I packed a few things to eat, im glad I did. you hungry?" He asked her
"I could possibly eat a bite or two. What do you have? " Melody smiled as she looked up at Brian.
" cheese and bread. Some dried meat and fruit" Brian replied " but let's save the apples for the hotses incase the storm lasts longer than I hope" he said
"Sounds good to me. I'l start with some bread to chew on. I'm not too hungry at the moment. I am glad that you thought of some food and drink." Melody spoke quietly.
" Trust me, you don't ever want to leave the city with out food and water.... I did once as a teen and got trapped by a sand storm that lasted days, almost died od dehydration... but that's how I found this spring, its s shame it dried up"
"I will definately remember this lesson. Thanks for the finding this shelter, Brian. It is a bit tight but at least we are safe once more." Melody spoke then laid her head down to think.

After a few moments, she asked

"Any thoughts of how to escape this place ? I'd like to leave but have no knowledge of how to do so. The Sultan gives the permission to leave doesn't he?"
" We just walked out perfectly fine, I don't see why we cant... " Brian said stretching slightly
"hmm.... such a simple way to leave. Yet I am worried about whether of not someone is watching up. With so many magic users, why can't there be someone that watches the coming and going of people?" she asked.
"Guess they figured nobody would dare attack or betray them seeing as who lives in the city" He said shrugging
"You might be right then. Perhaps we should make these trips like once or twice a week. Then perhaps we can leave one day." Melody spoke softly.
Brian nodded and smiled " Sure, next time we come out ill be more prepared for if another sand storm hits" He chuckled.
"Sounds good to me. I just eat so much now days and yet I am still tired......" Melody spoke softly as she leaned against the Prince. She gently stroke the horse's neck as she stood there.
" Could be from being cooped up inside all the time... I know when I don't get allot of sunlight I feel tierd " Brian said looking out at the sand blowing by " Good thing this building faces away from the direction of the wind"
