I'm just gonna write an interpretation of the story, or "My version", if you could call it that, it's up to you.
In the middle of the Starkwodd forest, lived two packs of wolves, the Neros (Us) and the Apollos (Rival pack). The two wolf packs lived in harmony, both sharing the forest. Then one day, a pup from the Apollos went missing. It were later found bloody and cold by a cliff. A Nero stood over it, bloodied in the face. The Apollos were mad, and the Neros banished the rogue wolf on the spot. What the two packs didn't know, is that by the bottom of the cliff were a dead and bloody boar, the real murderer. From that day forth the Neros and Apollos were enemies for life, forever trying to take over the others territorium.
As many of the wolves thought things couldn't get worse, humans were showed into the mess. A nearby hillbilly community were a little girl named Sarah lived. One day she went out in the forest to pick flowers for her dad, the leader of the hillbillies. As she were picking flowers, something growled behind her, a wolf (Apollo). As she turned around, a wolf (Neros) jumped over her head at the other wolf. Their battle were bloody and furious. The little girl were only harmed a little, just a few scrathes and some clawmarks. The girl were scared for life and ran home. There she told her dad everything that had happened in the forest. He took up his barrel and told his friends that they were going to purge the forest of wolves.
Just so we have some motivations behind our "villians".
