Forums » In Character » New Check In: Necrofuhra

Dusk is beginning to settle over the city of Santa Peralta, California. You've probably had a long journey, and a dry wind relieve the stifling heat from earlier that day. When you disembark, there's a friendly, metallic face there to greet you.

You see a five foot tall copper robot, wearing a leather jacket, striped shirt, blue jeans, red Converse sneakers, and a pompadour wig. He is blocky and old fashioned looking, with circular eyes, a square jaw, and two-pronged pincers for hands. He extends his rubbery arms and speaks in a metallic, Joisey accent.

"Welcome to Oddity Park! I'm Axel Hutchinson, at your service. May I help you with your bags? "
Thanx much appreciated, but im only carryin a single backpack, besides youed likely explode if I let you touch it. By the way I really dig that style of yours.
((Dear, if you could, try and write with punctuation, like quotation marks and stuff. Write it almost like a book.))

"Well, thank you kindly. What kind of room were you hoping to rent? Studio, loft, penthouse, tank, laboratory, or arcanum?"
As soon as Necrofuhra replied they felt as thogh thed already volunteered too much information as the last couple of weeks had been on the run. But who knows maybe this place would stay safe long enough to figure out a more cohesive strategy.
(00c) sorry that last response was tied to first remark and yes I know im bad with punctuation but will give it my best effort)
Necrofuhra took an unnecessary long pause before asking" ive been in a lot of unconventional places, but what is this about an arcanium never heard that word?"
"An arcanum is like, basically, a magical laboratory. It's got rune sigils, alchemy sets, sky panels, all the stuff you need to connect to the magical world, I guess. I don't mess with the magic stuff, so honestly I can't really explain."
A flush of embarrassment hits her for she so nearly asked for an arcade ium. Clearly this was why finding one had been a trouble....... theyed been saying it wrong. Rather than look like a shitty occultist they wished the robot a good evenin and simply requested a regular room as far away as any neighbor's as possible.
"Alright, follow me."

He escorts you to the apartment complex. It's a large, imposing building. A strange, Art Deco style building with several glass domes at various levels the higher it goes, leading up to a stylized penthouse suite at the 20th floor. The building has metallic gargoyles jutting from the side. The eyes appear to follow you. You cannot tell if it is illusion or if they really are.

Then you go to the lobby. It's a wide, open area with chairs scattered about around a fireplace and a coffee table. The table includes a large, dusty tome titled "A Monster's History Of Santa Peralta". It also has a Keurig, K-Cups of various flavors, creamer, and several paper cups. The table sits in front of a fireplace. Hovering above the fireplace is a portrait of a thin, skeletal figure completely covered in coal black skin and thousands of sharp thorn-like appendages. He wears a crimson suit, golden shirt, and black bow tie. The plaque reads

"TIMOR CARBONARIUS

12TH DUKE OF TARTURUS, COMMANDER OF THE 10TH BRIGADE OF ARMAGEDDON, 18TH COUSIN TWICE REMOVED OF LUCIFER

YOUR FRIENDLY LANDLORD"

Axel hands you a stack of paperwork.

"Fill in your name, number, room requirements, and any special service requests such as room service, tank cleanings, extra electricity for lab equipment, you know, standard apartment stuff. If you have any questions, holler. Please, help yourself to the coffee table."
Entering the lobby, Necrofuhra looks around, noticing the portrait hanging above the hearth. Reading the plaque, a small smile creeps across. Commander of the 10th brigade of Armageddon? It certainly explained the aethetic of the place, making the gargoyles perched outside seem like an appropriate addition(low key they were one of her favorite creatures). Turning as she was given the stack of papers, she went over to the coffee table, filling out her information required from the page. Necrofuhra jot down a request for a regular apt. as far from neighbor's as possible, a do not disturb sighn and lastly she needed the room to be pet friendly just in case (as she was still on the lookout for a familiar creature)
"Hmm," said Axel, reviewing your paperwork. "I'm afraid we only have one apartment available that's fits your exact requirements. If you want true solitude, you need to have one of our pocket dimension rooms. They appear on the Negative 1st Floor. Only accessible through pushing the secret button on the elevator. However, that's going to run you up quite the bill. $20,000 a month. Can you afford that?"
"More likely not",she sighed. "In that case a regular pet friendly apartment should be fine. I'll just have to get more comfortable ineractining with others she thought.
"Alright, that'll be $950 a month. Do you want to set up autopay or pay it yourself each month? If you pay for it yourself, then you'll have to hand deliver your payments to me or the landlord. Preferably me, because the landlord is kind of a..."

He looks both ways before whispering

"ASSHOLE."
Necrofuhras eyes widened a bit remembering full well exactly who the landlord was...." noted and thanx....yea ill be paying myself"they replied.
"You're a very brave soul, right this way."

Axel leads you to the elevator. He takes you up to your room, 981. It's at the far end of a long hallway, not someplace you'll likely be disturbed. The apartment has three rooms: A bedroom, a living room/kitchen, and a bathroom. Very bare furnishing, a blank canvas for which you can paint a home.

But, it's been a long bus ride. The sun has retreated, and unless you are a nocturnal being, you are inclined to sleep.

-END OF DAY 1-
Thank you, replied Necrofuhra turning away and gently placing their only bag on a chair. Afterward they warily stumbling to the floor to rest. Necrofuhra did not sleep but could only lie and gaze at the backpack their entire lively hood contained theirin. " "Im over these evasive maneuvers, next time I stand my ground" was the thought echoed through the night.
