A steady, rythmic flash of bright, red light is what intially woke Zelda from a deep, confusing sleep. The first thing she noticed was the cramped, silk cushioned space she was trapped in. Panic flared up in the pit of her stomach as she realized that she had no memories past waking up here. No knowledge of who she was or why she was trapped inside this body length box.

With some careful manuvering, Zelda managed to get the palms of her hands and her knees wedged up between the lid and the floor of the box. Using every ounce of strength she had, she applied pressure to the front of her feet and her elbows, pushing at the lid in some effort to get it to budge. There was a loud crack seconds before the bottom of the box gave out beneath Zelda. The thin silky fabric ripped open from the sudden dead weight and she hit the icy marble floor with a heavy thud. Coughing at the sudden dust assualt to her nose, she rolled to her side with a groan, rubbing her lower back as it pulsed with a dull pain.

God only knows how long she had laid there, her whole body feeling heavy and numb from lack of movement. While she laid there trying to gather her strength and remember how she even came to be in the box, she took a good look around.

Blue, soft lights glowed along the outer rim of the room, revealing three other dark wood boxes--no, coffins. That was the word for them. Coffins. Or at least thats what they looked an awful lot like. There was a thick coating of dust on the cream colored marble floor and the dark, cherry wood coffins. Debris was scattered around the room, as if there had been some sort of struggle here. Two flower pots had been knocked off the table by the double doors, their shattered pieces laying scattered about the room. One coffin nearest to the door had something sticking straight out of it, but from here, she couldn't make out what it was.

Finally, after some time, Zelda pushed herself up off the floor and crawled out from beneath the broken box. Her feet were bare and she had a thinned fabric white dress on. Not really my style.. she thought, brushing the dust off of her dress as she carefully picked her path to the nearest coffin, avoiding the broken vase pieces on the floor and other debris. Come to think of it, Zelda honestly couldn't remember her style. Or anything else past waking up in that box, for that matter. As she walked around the box, trying to find some kind of clue as to who was in it, she wondered if maybe this person was actually dead or not. Maybe it was some kind of freak accident that she was still alive? Who would put a living being in a coffin anyway?

A flash of silver caught her eye, making her look closer at a small, silver plated etching attatched to the side of the coffin. C, Grace. That's all it said. Perhaps it was the name of whoever was in the box? "C, Grace.." Zelda whispered to herself, running her fingertips over the letters and effectively wiping the dust away. With one last glance at the name, she returned to the front of the coffin and looked down at the lid of it, already having decided to open it.

Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, Zelda pushed the lid open, a hiss of air breaking the silence in the room. A very much alive young woman was laying asleep inside, no flashing red light in her coffin to wake her or annoy her. Reaching out, Zelda's hand touched her warm shoulder and she gave the girl a small shake. "Hey. Wake up Grace," she said out loud, using the only name she knew for the girl.
There was a pressure at her shoulder. Then a noise. No, a name. She let out a soft grunt and turned her head. It wasn't time to wake up. Just five more minutes. What woke her up was that feeling of someone there. Instead of confinement, she could feel fresh air. Eyes were on her and curiosity won out. Stormy blue orbs creaked open; a figure formed and slipped into her gaze.

Her lids fully opened and took in the woman in front of her. She blinked and reached up to rub the corners of her eyes to get rid of a bit of crust that had formed from too much sleep. The woman had gray hair that faded to red. Pretty, she thought. Though eventually she had to stop herself from staring and her gaze went to around the room.
"What is this?"

Her mind ached to remember, but nothing came to mind. She moved her hands out and they came in contact with walls. Her next thing to look at was the box she was in. Small, tight, just enough for her to fit. That's when she saw all the tattoos that decorated her arms. Then fingers came up to touch her own hair. It was short and tangled. Then they came down, as did her stare and she saw she was wearing the same white dress that hung off her body. It was simple and looked more like pajamas or a hospital gown than actual clothing.
"What is this?"
Her nose wrinkled in mild disgust at the itchy fabric.

She had to ignore her fashion sense and she took her first step out of the box. Debris littered the ground and her curiosity of the other female was almost gone as the room around them took over. She couldn't remember any of this and nothing was more frightening. Why couldn't she remember anything?
She whipped around to look at the other, there was almost a wild look in her eyes as she tried not to panic.
"I can't remember anything.."
The heart in her chest was beating rapidly the more she tried to remember something. Something as simple as a name was alluding her.
"What did you say my name was?"

There were other boxes around them, but on second glance they looked like coffins. When she turned to look at hers, it was the same. Obviously the one the other girl had opened was hers so there had to be more. The previous questions she had asked forgotten, she carefully stepped over towards another coffin.
"We need to open these," she mumbled out.
