10th century BC
A long time ago the greek pantheon was in power, opulent, decadent and corrupt. They enslaved the people and took what they wanted, using their innate powers to bring them to heel and destroy any rebellions that arose. It was to their understanding that if strong humans enslaved the weaker humans then the gods could enslave them all, but one was not so cold hearted towards humans. For the gods loved each other greatly be it familial or romantic they all had a deep love for one another.
Zeus, he had looked upon what his siblings and children had wrought and was greatly saddened. His heart broke in his chest and he reached in for the broken pieces, using them to beseech Gaia. To begin the gods anew as humans in a time long past from now, when all that they had done would be forgotten and retold as mere myth.
For Gaia was too saddened by what they had brought about on her earth, she answered his wishes using the rest of her life force and that of Zeus' she took the essences of the gods into herself, dormant. Ready to allow them to be born again as a human when the world is without the memory of their deeds.
2000 AD
The world had forgotten, all traces of what they did had disappeared and they were remembered as the greek god whom everyone knew never existed. Gaia decided that at the exact moment of the turn of the millenium they would be reborn but something went wrong, as they were born so were their powers. Artifacts coveted by wealthy humans and museums came into being, waiting for their godly counterpart to take in their power but what path will they take?
On their eighteenth birthday they awed at themselves as a sliver of their innate power came to the surface and so did their memory. Will they be horrified at what they did or would they try and recreate the hell on earth? Though one thing was certain they must find their beloved fellow gods and their artifacts. -
