Jade nods her head. “So we cook it. “ she looked around, not finding much to work with. “Perhaps a solar oven....everything is either wet or too damp to burn...” she looked around the ship and found a metal crate and some extra unused materials. “I’ll make one for us...” her out her hair up, the gears in her head, turning out ideas. “It’ll be quite simple and it will take time to cook, but it’s better than nothing. We’ll need to boil the purified water too...”

The girl continued scrambling for unused parts. She took the sand and mollusks that’s been clinging to the hull of the ship and gathered them on a sheet. After moving awhile in a determined fashion, she noticed she hasn’t been communicating with Fushio. She looked at the other woman.

“Maybe we can gather more materials? It’s always good to stockpile them for when we need to print something. “

She then went to the nest and went to work. She shucked the mollusk like things, separating the meat from the shell. She then washed the shells and left them to dry. She then fed the sand to the fabricator. While waiting for it to make the black heat resistant glass, she took a piece of the mollusk meat and put the rest in the cold storage. The girl returned to Fushio with the piece of mollusk meat.

“Can we eat this?”

At first it was a faint signal, too faint for The Laurel's radios units to properly detect. As the vessel continued on it's course the signal gradually becomes strong enough to be properly detected, at first an occasional beep...but it soon becomes a semi-clear message. It was clear that the vessel was closing on the source of the signal.

It was an automated emergency beacon that continued to repeat the same phrases over and over, "Immediate...covery......VI -ight Nine. Transport Freighter Haven.....Immediate...covery......VI -ght Nine." Parts of the message skipped or sounded garbled, likely from the pod sustaining some type of damage during it's deployment from the stricken freighter.
Fushio nods toward Jade, acknowledging her. She continues to sit on the deck, next to the scanner, and making use of what shade she can from the boat structure. Simply watching Jade round things up for use in the printer. It is not that she does not wish to help, but rather... she just doesn’t know what to grab. Plus, as she glances around the outside of the vessel, most of the things she could grab seem already pretty well stored... so... why move them?

So when Jade returns from the nest with the mollusk meat... she still hasn’t moved.

“Uh... let check... just one second...” Fushio opens the molecular scanner, and removes the odd slice of clear fish meat... then casually tosses it over the edge of the boat and into the water. It might attract a predator fish. Something larger and more catch worthy?

She then takes the mollusk and tosses it into the machine, her hand about to initiate the scan cycle again. The Sul suddenly looks up, then around... her head finally tilts to one side, her ear aimed at the main cabin behind her.

“Radio. Sound like a garbled distress call.” The huge ears aren’t for just decoration, after all. She presses the start button then hops up... leaving the machine in the sunlight to run as she heads back inside.

The door opens and her head pokes out. “Jade! It sounds like another made it off the Haven... and... I can’t seem to work the radio, or anything for that matter. The ship AI does not seem to like me touching stuff.”
Jade was just as excited as Fushio when she heard mention of the signal. She went to the console where Fushio was waiting and tied her hair up to better focus.

“Okay. This is very complicated but it looks like he put some labels on some of them...”

She looked towards what looked like two large radio dials labeled ‘volume’ and ‘frequency’. She fiddled with the dials for a bit before getting a clear signal.

{—Requesting immédiate recovery!}. That was as much as she could hear before noticing a signal beacon in the distance.

“Oh! I see it! This looks similar to the Nest’s navigation system..let’s see..” Jade pushed the throttle forward, moving the ship towards the beacon.
From what she could see, it was another VIP survival pod. Perhaps the owner is part of the pathfinder or the healthcare team?

“Okay. It looks like we have one free claw left...the nest can interconnect with other VIP pods.... gimme one moment Okay?”

She lowers the anchors and goes to the nest. There she turned on the VIP seeker. It releases a tube like rope that attaches to the other VIP, then pulls it next to the next. After she moved to the other person’s pod and knocks on the glass.

“TELL THEN POD TO SWITCH TO WATER NEST PROTOCOL!”
Now within reach and closer inspection, the outside of the pod appears partially scorched with a multitude of dents and dings littering the upper half. From outside, the pod appears dark inside with the only light entering through the windows.

A woman's pale face appears from that darkness shortly after Jade finishes knocking on the glass, her expression one of confusion. Wide eyed as she peers out through the window, the woman stares at Jade for several moments before nodding and disappearing back into the dark interior of the pod.

Shortly the pod begins to shift, slowly and clunkily before grinding to a halt then resuming it's original shape. It goes through this process twice more before finally following through the entire process. With a loud clunk the access hatch finally unlocks, though the woman doesn't immediately attempt to exit.
Fushio simply lets Jade work. She was having far better luck with the radio and ship systems anyway.

She remains quiet, and hangs back as she changes course and brings the ship around to the second VIP pod, and latches it on to it with the hook.

She watches the pods shift and interface, catching a fleeting glance of the new arrival through the window. Not enough to make out any details... Her gaze moves over the new pod, considering the damage to it... the mechanical issues with the transition. Probably some of the ship’s debris likely struck it during the launch.

The second eventually opens... revealing no one. At least not immediately. The Sul cocks her head toward the opening, listening for it’s occupant.
Jade waited for her to say something, but when it seemed clear she wasn't, the girl began to help her out. The woman might still be in shock. She was no doctor, she only knew basic first aid and herbal medicine.

"Its okay. We've got you..."

She assisted the girl as she left her damaged pod, moving them towards the others.

"She might be in shock. " she says. The statement mainly directed towards fushio. She didn't know how to help much with this, but there was much else she could help with.
