Okay, I have never done a forum-based RP... not in a very long time. I don't really know if it would work out, but I kind of want to try, because this idea would be quite casual and mainly just involve interpersonal drama or conversations.
But, anyway! since all the members who have introduced themselves so far have two things in common (LGBT and enjoy early 20th-late 19th Century RP) I had an idea to create a group RP here.
The idea: In that time period, a special kind of social gathering called the literary salon was quite popular. Many of these parties were held by prominent female artists and writers, and some of them were specifically held for the gay and lesbian members of the art world, a place where they could interact and discuss politics, art, culture, etc. with like-minded people. Many of the attendees were aristocratic, while some were self-made artists who came from lower society.
Basically, we can have a fancy gay garden party together in 19th Century Europe.
Is anyone interested in this? We could make it happen here!

That could be interesting! I’ve only ever RP’d one-on-one through PMs, so a group forum-based RP, as the complete opposite, sounds like a fun challenge. The premise also sounds great. Anything from crime to romance could potentially happen.

Cool, so at least 3 of us are in! I'd be happy to manage this RP and play as the host character.
My idea is to make a strong, motherly type character to play the host, (somewhat loosely based on Natalie Clifford Barney), and also to play as her brother, who will be more of a brooding type who sits on the edge of the party, for contrast. If anyone wants to pitch characters, you can do that here or in a PM to me, whatever your preference is.
I'm thinking starting in France in 1910, on the cusp of the Great War. If the group is tight enough, we could continue on through the War and see how it affects the lives of the characters. But that's up to the group to decide, so let me know if you have a different time/place. I recommend looking at the article I linked to above for some good information about the literary salon!

That sounds great! Maybe I should also make a new character, a writer or a painter... Either way, let me know when you're ready to start this RP!
I've created a character for this RP, Maria Proserpina Mazetti. I'll probably get around to working on her appearance tomorrow. Can't wait to play her!

She seems utterly perfect. The Madame host will probably fall in love with her at first sight.
