Le Salon is my first group RP. So far we have three players, but everyone in the Group is invited!
In the time between the 18th and 20th Centuries, a special kind of social gathering called the literary salon was quite popular. Many of these parties were held by prominent female artists and writers, and some of them were specifically held for the gay and lesbian members of the art world, a place where they could interact and discuss politics, art, culture, etc. with like-minded people. Many of the attendees were aristocratic, while some were self-made artists who came from lower society.
Our party is to be hosted by Robin, a Canadian woman who now lives in France. It takes place in Paris in 1910, on the cusp of the Great War. If the group is tight enough, we could continue on through the War and see how it affects the lives of the characters.
Writers, artists, philosophers, all are welcome, male, female, or anything in between, gay or straight, white or black. Our hostess demands that every guest respect the others! If not, she'll have you hauled off and barred from the party for life.
Let's get fancy!
The Winslow Siblings (Our host and her younger brother)
Maria Proserpina Mazetti (An Italian painter)
Marie Claude Darche (A singer)
Phillipe Alexander (A German actor)
Troupe Treppenwitz (A Vaudeville duo)
Ralph Earl Howard (A Professor and writer)
Regarding the passage of time: The salon is held once a month in Robin's garden (or indoors during winter). Each party will end after several in-game hours (days or weeks out of game), enough time for plenty of socializing. After it ends, you will have a chance to discuss OOC, and decide what your character does in between. Does she work on a new painting to show? Or perhaps meet up with some of the other characters for luncheons, or even dates? Thus, time will pass, and relationships will develop. My hope is that we can go into the War, and see how that shapes their lives.

So I've decided to save space, I'm going to make both of my characters on the same profile. π

Here's my first character! I have yet to fill in about her but at least it's better than nothing.

She's lovely! I'll add her to the lists.
All the rules and explanations are in place now! People can still join at any time, the guest list is open indefinitely. I'll be writing a starter soon, and I may even put up pictures of the garden and townhouse to help everyone imagine the space.
Actually I have a question for you guys, right now it says "if someone takes more than 3 days to respond without warning, or letting me/the group know they will be late, their turn will be skipped."
Is 3 days good or should I make it one week?

In my opinion, 3 days is a bit short. People might get caught up in some stuff or get sick or something among those lines and forget to tell us they'll be late with their reply. A week, however, seems a bit long. That could potentially draw a single salon out to months (of course, this is exaggeration, but you get my gist). 4 or 5 days seems fine to me.
Okay, changing it now.
Cool, let me know when there's enough info and I'll add them!

I updated with the three new characters and I figured I would just have Robin slide a quick hello to each new person who comes in
I would just like to apologize in advance if any of my replies to the RP come with a delay, as I have started college today and it's all very new for me. I've been given quite a few assignments already, and the deadlines are pretty strict, so school has, for the moment, become a clear priority. I'll still be active on here, just not as much as I was up until now.
Sorry I've been absent all week, I had several doctors appointments that basically left me not wanting to talk to anyone. But I guess no one posted while I was gone either so I feel a bit better about it
I hope you're feeling better!
By the way, should I be skipping to my character since it has been a week? π

Personally, Iβm all for the next person taking their turn. Itβs been more than a week.
Seeing as there's been no reply from TalonHammer for almost a month now, should we continue with the next person?
