the sandstorms had finally subsided. at last, the clones were beginning to gain some ground against the battle droids. ortega's master, master kelon, lead the charge. ortega had decided it was best not to get in his master's way. he was encamped at a nearby cave. the drawings inside of the cave seems to have prophesied this battle. the geonosians, against an "army of light". ortega slowly begins taking his lightsaber apart
A strong gust of wind and sand rushed across the battlefield, as if to signal the arrival of the ominous drop ship. The door opens as a tall, mysterious looking trooper steps onto the battle torn ground. "Command, do you read?" The trooper called out over his comms. "Copy Tango. Loud and clear. Stand by for orders." The trooper checked his weapons and gear before the comms lit up again. "Tango, your assignment is the Jedi master Kelon. We believe him to be a traitor to the Republic and he needs to be silenced. Make it look as though he has fallen in battle, we do not want to damage moral." Tango picked up his blaster rifle and began to move up the ridge to get a good view of the battle below.
Ortega was getting restless. He never liked staying in one place. His master had given him strict orders to stay here. "Train in the force" his master had told him. His master had always been a devout follower of the republic. Slowly, ortega stands, looking at his now-complete saber, its metal shining in the dawning sun. The battle would begin at dawn, ortega thought to himself. He had a bad feeling about this. He walks out of the cave, accompanied by his droid. Hk-32. Hk or hawk, as ortega called him as a kid, had been with him for many years. The droid had never once been memory-wiped
Tango set up a good position not far from a separatist command post that was set in a key position. If the Jedi had any hope of a victory here, he would have to take this position quickly once the real fighting broke out. Gazing over the area with his suits built in optics, Tango quickly spoted two scout droids carrying snipers advancing to his position. "Hmm. How convenient." He mumbled to himself. When the droids reached his position to likely set up their own post, they were quickly torn apart. Both droids comms were then wired to transmit signals back to their hq so no one would knkw their fate. Tango familiarized himself with the droid sniper and set up with s good vantage point and view of the direction the clone assault would be coming from. Now, itnwas a waiting game. His shot had to be timed perfectly or the Jedi would sense it coming
"alright men tonight we fight for glory no regrets for the empire!!"
Ortega steps out of the cave, his droid following him. He grabs the dc15 blaster on the ground and gives it to the droid. He walks to the edge of the cliff base, looking down. The clones were arranged in squares, with at-tes scattered through. The army was preparing themselves for the battle. He looks in the other direction. Far off, he swears he can see what looks like droid heads over the horizon. Maybe this battle just has him on edge. He cannot see his master in the crowd below.
Tango watches his clone bretheren preparing for the assault. After his termination mission he was to find the padawan of his target and accompany him through the battle. He too was force sensitive, and was quite skilled in its use, though he did not share the Jedi way of thinking. He was pulled from his thoughts when he heard the first sounds of droid blaster fire open up as the clones moved in. He glassed the battle carefully lookin for his target, and his opportunity.
Ortega finally sees his master, a burly man in grey jedi robes. Ortega also hears the first shot, bored from far away. Ortega guesses that the droids may have fired from a tank, due to the size of the blast. The battle had begun. Soon, the field was ablaze in red and blue bolts of light flying every which way. The at-tes focus their guns on the other side of the battle, firing deadly plasma bolts
His optics read a positive scan of his target. The jedi was just out of range and not moving forward very quickly with the droids fighting hard to hold the line. As Tango settled in and readied his aim for when his moment came, a vision hit him. He saw a younger jedi turning to the darkside, killing his master, the very master he was tasked with killing. When the vision finally ceased, Tango stood up. He threw the droid rifle down the embankment near him and picked his own rifle back up. He closed his eyes under his visor and reached out eith the force, looking for this padawan, the same padawan he was to accompany in battle. The force was speaking to Tango, and he was listening. He found his quarry on the opposite end of the battle field. His comms found a frequency to try and reach his new objective. "Come in Ortega. This is spec ops trooper Tango. Do you read?"
Ortega picks up his radio, a gift given to him by his master, before the battle had begun. "Uh, yeah. This is ortega..." he says, looking out over the battlefield. He could not see the trooper who was making the transmission. He had no idea of where tango really was. "
