The Land of Veil

Veil as a continent has only been a known idea for around three hundred and fifty years, prior to the discovery of the land mass by silk traders, there had been no recordings or existing maps documenting the continent's existence, nor has there been any evidence of prior human habitation before the first colonies were founded at the tip of the Valiant Peninsula. Much has changed on the continent with the newfound human presence, settlements have sprung up all across the exterior of Veil. Farms and other agricultural centers have arisen after the discovery of rich and fertile soil, and precious metals are being found deeper into the interior. Much of the wildlife of the land are passive herbivores, unused to most forms of predators, and easy prey for a newfound class of hunters who have taken to the vast forests and jungles of the east. It is said that pelts originating from Veil are of the finest quality in the world, and are adored by the old elite across the sea. Many have called Veil a jewel waiting to be excavated, but few know of the dangers lurking beyond established civilization, and fewer still know why there have been no successful settlements beyond the Distant Valley.
