Omegaverse is a AU(alternate universe) in which omega males can get pregnant and alpha females can impregnate. In this world, there are three main roles: Alpha, Beta, and Omega.
How do you know which you are?
Upon birth doctors will have a strong inkling as to what you are. While their judgment can be wrong, this is very rare. There are tests you can buy for confirmation that are viable to use after the start of puberty, though the only true way to know is for when physical signs fully manifest between 12-24.
In a way, this world has two main genders.
Male and female, though non-binary exists, and Alpha/Omega, though Betas exist.
What about these roles?
Alphas are dominant. They lead the society. Alphas generally are more aggressive, assertive, and their pheromones are the strongest.
Omegas are the lowest rank, often being the weakest and smallest. They go through heat cycles with trigger the instinct to breed in alphas.
Betas are the closest to the average person. They are less in tune to pheromones and therefore aren't so effected by them. They have a harder time having children, and for some it is impossible. They are said to not have a fated mate as that is between an alpha and an omega.
What are these pheromones and heat cycles about? Or other terms?
A pheromones is a biological signal. Alphas can use these to intimidate other alphas, and at times it may even make a beta feel meek and suffocated. Omegas may give off a pheromone to calm their child, ect. Some are more sensitive to these than others, and some produce stronger pheromones than others. A well bred alpha is said to be able to control the will of those around him with his pheromones. For this, employers like trusted alphas and betas, who are less likely to be manipulated.
A heat cycles occurres when an omega is most fertile. Whether or not they want to be, their body becomes extremely aroused and desperate to reproduce. This need can be painful when ignored and it can drive an omega to behave without an awareness of their actions. For this, employers often see hiring omegas as a risk.
Fated mates are said to exist only between an alpha and an omega. They are your true love, and rejection from your fated mate can lead to 'broken heart' syndrome. In this syndrome, the individual will begin to produce an insufficient amount of hormones, which leads to depression and a weakened heart which can easily give out. Some will avoid finding their fated mate, as their body will then never be able to go through the subtle chemical changes that, while healthy, can lead to this syndrome.
What are the laws in a society like this?
Those laws carry from district to distract and alphas will often form pacts to defend there w district and their ideals. Some districts claim that you can not rape an omega, because an omega exists for being bred, while others worship omegas for being the vision of purity.
