Xylar peered out of the old windows of this mountainside fortress, abandoned by the government after the wars, watching the forest below and silently reminiscing on events of the past: he, Kelsy, and Lilith had done a lot in their time, before they were divided. Retribution had led him to the path of truth, one which he’d never noticed, which led to him turning against his former friends. He regretted it somewhat, but he believed his path was the only one that would save the powered people, though with the death of those who would pose a potential threat.
He continued to gaze outward, lifting his eyes to the great tower in the distance, one he had associated with his old flame, though she undoubtedly despised him now, if she hadn’t forgotten him. Why she refused his offer was beyond him, but he could still hope she’d see the truth of his cause. Speaking of which, he was confused at the lack of noise from the areas below, usually filled with the voices of those he had recruited. He wandered down to a former lab, which resembled the one Retribution, an old friend, had shown him so long ago: it was meant to convert powered people to the cause of extermination should others rebel. It had been converted to a living space, but it was void of any person at this time. Perhaps they were busy with their own schemes?

Maximillian lets out a low sigh as he stood in front of the entrance to their hideout, his head tilted to the side in contemplation of how he'd landed himself in such a situation. Working with some of the greatest villains to ever exist. He had never imagined that his life would come to this. And now that it had. He felt...
POSITIVELY ECSTATIC!
The Freedom. Oh, god the freedom he felt as he walked into their building as he was doing just now. He couldn't imagine a better life. Sure it sucked having your face known almost around the entire country, but the camaraderie he shared with the others more than made up for it. Being surrounded by those who themselves once felt trapped in a glass box, talking and laughing with like-minded fellows. Maximillian sighs. There was no better feeling.
He enters the facility and makes a beeline to the area that they had converted into a living space with a grin plastered on his face. His eyes then widen once he saw the man standing by the room. Now growing a smile, Maximillian approaches the man with a wave "Hey, boss man!"

He looked over when he heard his fellow villain enter the room, getting past the thoughts of torment that had plagued him for years. “Ah, Diabolos,” he greeted, “I was wondering where you had gone: do you know where the others are, by chance? It is almost time for me to unveil our plan to ensure the rightful rule of the powered people, to prevent the powerless from toppling our existence and crush them underfoot.”
He wasn’t sure how Retribution would feel about his actions, but he was certain the Hero Hunter would have been proud. Last he’d heard of his old friend, he was trapped by a blizzard at an old hotel in the mountains, a veritable fortress from the reports. He wasn’t dead: Xylar would have known if he was, but he had been more distant than before, the communications fewer and fewer until nonexistent. Perhaps he’d send a message tonight...

Grunting in annoyance at the use of his surname, the young villain sighs "Just call me Max, seriously" he says while using his telekinetic ability to remove his jacket as he walked towards one of the couches in the room. "No idea where the others are, I was just out making sure my parents were doing OK," he explains while floating a magazine towards his person. He hums as he listened to the boss talk about the plan. "You really haven't given us much to go on, about your plan I mean." he hums while flipping a page of the magazine.
“I find it to be more...interesting if I leave out the details initially,” he explained, sitting on an armchair he’d claimed as his own, “but make no mistake: this will put those who are powerless in their place, and will allow us to become their masters. They may be more numerous, but they are weak, hiding behind their policies and the ones who sympathize with their weakness. It won’t matter, not when we have control. When the others arrive, I will reveal all. In any case, I hope your family is well, Max: any powerless in your bloodline will be absolved of our reign, of course, and will be treated as equals.”
