Hi gang!!!
Excited to be here and share my progress and maybe even find people to buddy up with!
I play Beat Saber and Synth Riders, and am also looking forward to the full release of the SideQuest game 'Hitstream' (it's a boxing inspired game that makes use of the 360 degree rotation in VR).
I try to be smart about my exercise while playing to avoid injuring myself. I absolutely take days off when needed, or cut my play time short if my glucose starts to tank. When I started exercising, I went from nothing to a very ambitious goal of 60 minutes a day of being on my feet, not sitting down. I made the very conscious decision to not set weight loss goals, or anything other than "Just don't be sitting for at least 60 minutes a day", as I'm prone to disordered behavior otherwise. And it worked out great! Until the heat hit.
Now I realize that 30 minutes a day is much more achievable and, at the intensity I play at, also more than good enough to meet most healthy exercise standards that are good for the body. I avoid feeling bad on days I can't exercise or need a break because I know it's temporary and I will be back to exercising as soon as I can. And it's a nice feeling!!
So, with the story shared, I wanted to see if anyone is interested in buddying up and playing with me? Cause multiplayer exercise sessions are freaking amazing and I want more of them!! (Remember, Beat Saber is limited to the Oculus platform, whereas Synth Riders is cross-platform compatible.) I'm 100% okay with playing at any intensity level other than Expert+ in BS or Master in SR! Though my workouts are typically done at about these levels:
Beat Saber workout section I did on June 10th.
A Hitstream workout section I did end of May.
Synth Riders custom song I did today in my workout.
I've noticed that my stamina has improved a lot and a lot of my exercise is getting significantly easier, making me want to set new intensity goals. I'm super duper loving it and have no intention of quitting anytime soon!!

The tl;dr:
Started weight lifting with my physical therapist a month before COVID hit, had to quit. I worked with him because of my chronic back issues making injuries very likely so I needed supervision and adjusted exercises. Also got diagnosed with ADHD the same year, leading to the realization that I need to 'hack' exercise to be able to stick with it.
Discovered that the Quest headset is a standalone device and has exercise games on it, bought in in April this year, and I managed to hold on to a routine for 2 solid months straight!! WHOO!! Turns out gamifying exercise so it doesn't feel like exercise is THE KEY for me to keep doing it.

Unfortunately I don't have a VR headset, I just wanted to say I'm super duper proud of you for doing right by you.
