The festival had ended days before yet clean up was still in progress in the main plaza. People and iron saints working to disassemble and clean up the various stages.
Above the plaza perched on a rooftop, legs dangling over the edge sat Mollie. She had been there practically since the end of the festival. With a small tablet and pen in hand she watched the work, scribbling lyrical ideas and singing them in various tones.
Mollie finally came to the conclusion that she needed a new sound, a new voice. Something to both compliment and contrast her own deeper voice. But where to find such a singer?

Mollie finally came to the conclusion that she needed a new sound, a new voice. Something to both compliment and contrast her own deeper voice. But where to find such a singer?
Then, there it was. A voice. A few rooftops closer and moving. Or was it merely one of the sounds of the city. Slowly it was fading but it was there, so very close. A harmony of higher pitch floating on the breeze. So very close. But if she wanted it, she'd have to follow it.
At first she almost didn't catch the voice, a fleeting sound amidst the cacophony of the city. But Mollie had sharp ears and her head snapped around to try and follow the voice.
It was moving and even as she tucked her tablet away so was Mollie. With a pair of short hops she was airborne over the rooftops, great wings carrying her in search of that beautiful voice.

The source took a left, then up a building. Mollie was getting closer. And closer. And closer. Till she'd catch a glimpse of red hair, blue cloth, and brass. A young woman bearing the insignia of the arterius city courier company
Mollie followed the voice through every change in direction. Considering the speed and going over buildings, Mollie wondered if she was chasing another ruca. But finally she caught up enough to catch a glimpse of the one she sought. It was a human courier? A small but amusing surprise!
"Oi Missy! Hold up! Please wait!" Mollie shouted. She wasn't sure if she could be heard or not but she had to try to get the woman's attention. Without much thought Mollie entered a dive, hoping to quickly close the gap between them.

She had been dropping down to a lower rooftop when she heard the shout. It made her jump. And fuck up her landing a but as she didn't quite get the tuck and roll. She would feel that in the morning. But she had bigger problems. "What the hell do ya want!? Ya could have killed me! Courier work is dangerous and hard!" She was more irritated than angry
Finally she had caught up to the woman. Just in time to see the botched landing up close. Flaring her wing to stop her dive, Mollie starts to raise a helping hand and apologize when the woman began tearing into her...and rightfully so.
Rubbing the back of her head with her hand Mollie sheepishly answers as to her business with the woman "Suppose ah deserve that. Ah humbly beg your forgiveness. Are you ok?"
Still rubbing the back of her head Mollie turns around in a small circle to give herself a little time to calm herself before actually answer the question "Well ah heard your singin' and....wished to know if you'd like to sing with Paradise Blue? It's mah band." This was not how she had intended for this to go.

"Yeah I'm find. I can take a rough fall or two just great.. wait." She locked up. Had people likely heard her sing before? Yes. But had it been traced back to her? Nope. "Y-ya heard that? I." She'd always sang for herself. She liked singing. Really liked it but she also had that image she kept up as the tough head honcho for the courier service.. it was a tempting offer. Meet me at my den later today and we can talk about that. Just uh. Don't tell anyone. I have a few more deliveries to make but I'll be there this evening." She gave mollie some instructions for how to get to her personal residence.

Mollie nodded slowly, glad the woman was alright. In regards to her singing, Mollie nodded eagerly as she listened and then received the directions. Speaking slowly with care Mollie gives a smile as she back toward the edge of the roof "I shall be there and not a soul shall know. I'm sorry for holding you up. Until then!" And like that she tipped over the edge and was gone with the wind.
