Welcome To The Lorelay Ranch

The Pasture

The lush grassy pastures of the Lorelay Ranch are located on the upper right side of the property behind the main house and are where our trained ranch hands and animal trainers take our various livestock breeds to exercise, graze and play peacefully far from any of our guests and equipment. Sitting in the shadow of a vast mountain range, the low plants and abundant grass are loved by our many herbivores while the open space gives our larger breeds ample space to roam and stretch their legs.

The free-range nature of the Lorelay Ranch means that for at least part of the day the animals can roam freely outdoors along the pasture, rather than being confined in an enclosure for the entirety of each day offering the opportunity for our animals to have extensive locomotion and sunlight that they wouldn’t be allowed in lesser indoor farming systems.

The Monster Pens

The bread and butter of the Lorelay Ranch, all located in front of the main house spread neatly across the bottom right side of the ranch, are the various pens that make up the housing for the various breeds housed on the ranch. This includes the stables, the coops and other homes for the several different creatures on the ranch. Our pens vary in height and shape to accommodate different sized beasts but most of our non-aquatic species can be found in one pen or another.

Here the different breeds sleep and relax after a hard day as well as being fed by our specially trained ranch hands. It is also here that they are able to be viewed by potential buyers and inspected, though only under professional supervision as our animals can react unpredictably to unfamiliar stimuli.

The Barns

Where the magic happens so to speak. Several barns lay scattered across the bottom left side of the ranch in front of the main house. Some barns are for the storage of farming equipment, but others serve as extraction or breeding barns, where our trained ranch hands and breeders go about breeding and cross breeding our various species to sell as well as acquiring the rare animal byproduct and various materials needed for sale across the region or to the distinguished patron.

These areas are off limits to the public due to the sometimes-dangerous work that goes on inside as a result of the nature of livestock breeding. Our masterful breeders work tirelessly to ensure our livestock supply is kept at peak occupancy so we have as many animals on site as possible and can be found her often working to find new and interesting pairings to cross breed with to make better and more interesting species and byproduct.

The Fields

Where the organic in organic farming comes from! Our fields are where the crops that become the food for many of our staff and animals are grown. Fresh from farm to table, our produce, tended to by the many farmers and field hands on the ranch our fields sit towards the back of the ranch and near the pasture and as such often need extra vigilant care to keep any free roaming livestock from getting into the crops.

Our vegetable yields are often sold to major food establishments across the region, ending up in various eateries such as Borger Town or other various cafés, as well as sold at the local farmers markets regularly.

The Farmhouses

Below the main house, down the hill are several smaller farmhouses that serves as the primary quarters of those ranchers, farm hands or field hands who would rather live onsite as opposed to commute to the ranch for work. All employees are offered the option of room and board on the ranch and some find the sparsely filled but charming homes a nice place to relax when not on the job.

In the past the Lorelay family was much larger and needed these extra homes to accommodate the various family members, but overtime as the family shrank in size the homes were later repurposed and turned into employee living, offering all the necessities and even some of the comforts of home, though paling in comparison to the main house where the owner of the ranch resides.

The Lake

Lorelay Lake, the immense freshwater lake sits to the eastern side of the main house and is the home of several of the ranches aquatic creatures that cannot be properly cared for on land. The lake also helps provide proper irrigation to the rest of the farm and crops and a stable water source for our thirsty animals.

Fishing and fun water activities make this a must stop for the ranch goers and its convenient placement near the barns makes it easy for the sea life to be worked with by our talented breeders.
