I am SO PROUD of the work of the last few weeks. I wanted to give you sense of where we are in the various projects that make up Operation Terra Incognita.
You may remember seeing these as the original goals of Operation Terra Incognita:
After a huge recent push on the map editor, I have a strong start on the first three parts, name: Style Guide for Artists, Map Editor, and the Avatar Designer.
However, the shine of playing with them wears off pretty quickly, because there's just not that many assets to USE on those maps and avatars. So after a couple more days of tying up loose ends on maps, I plan to transition to the "Custom Map Asset Creator" and "Custom Avatar Asset Creator" part of the projects for a bit.
My plan is to create more official assets for launch using these tools as they develop, so that I have a good idea of what it's like to work with them myself and make certain they do, indeed, integrate with the map and avatar builders as intended.
You may remember seeing these as the original goals of Operation Terra Incognita:
- Style Guide for Artists
A handbook for how official assets will be created, so that we can start making an official library, and artists who want to create their own custom pieces can get started.
- Map Editor
Allows users to create their own environments.
- Avatar Designer
Allows users to create representative avatars for each of their characters.
- Map Usage UX
Once you have a map, you'll need to be able to connect it to a forum topic or inbox conversation, so that it can be used by everyone in the RP in concert with the chat.
- Custom Avatar Asset Creator
A tool for artists to set up their artwork so that it will work correctly on various avatar bases. Hopefully will also handle a lot of recolors for you.
- Custom Map Asset Creator
For creating new tiles, objects, and FX.
- Asset Marketplace
For artists to share and/or sell their custom assets.

- I, for one, am VERY excited to dive into the custom asset creators ASAP! OwO
