HI KIM!
This is probably WILDLY too early to be thinking about this but I can't help myself and wanted to pick your brain. Do you have any idea on how uploading custom (non-default) files will look with the new Map system? For example, would uploading a "tree" be as simple as 'Dimensions 100x500, File Size Limit 100kb, etc' (literally just making up numbers, don't mind me), and then having that as an 'asset' that can be placed similar to a default one? Are there any limits your foresee to that early on, i.e. only '10 custom assets per map / user' or anything like that?
Ultra excited for the next step for RPR and champing endlessly at the bit to get my hands on this once it's ready for us to jump into.
For the rest of us yahoos here percolating on the options, what are some Map assets you would LOVE to see in use? I am personally partial to medieval / period pieces of all kinds, something I think will fit in well with what I assume will be the nature-y defaults from the links shared in the preview posts.
I strongly suspect anything I say here will end up proved wrong when I actually get to designing the thing. But yes, something like you said -- I think there will also be a "place boundary" step of some kind to indicate where characters can't walk, ie maybe they can go behind the trunk but will slam into the base of the trunk instead of just passing through it and popping out the front.
