SECRET is known to be cunning and manipulative, as he is capable of creating an army of Plague Doctors for his plans and also attempts to distract and sway the witnesses off the path during the journey. Despite the characteristics, SECRET also seems to get enraged quite easily. Dude has a lot of anger issues. 100 years prior to the events of the things that happened in Misty Forest, The Dark Heart was sealed away after making a deal with Lockelan. While it allowed the forest to live on in peace for the next century, it allowed the Dark Heart to possess Lockelan's body. After their imprisonment wears off, The Dark Heart returns in the form of SECRET and begins spreading malice in its wake.

100 years prior to the events of the Misty Forest, the Forest Surveillance Team detects large energy readings coming from Misty Forest. Lockelan and his childhood friend Keye take part in an expedition to find the source of these readings.
After narrowing the source of the readings down to an old ruins site, the team begins excavating into its center. They find the Dark Heart, which was buried underneath the earth. Finally free and activated, it begins vaporizing all crew members. Lockelan and Keye are the only two able to escape alive.
Sometime later, Lockelan and Keye are separated. It is assumed that Lockelan battled the Dark Heart and sealed it away after making a deal with it. While the terms of the deal are unclear, it guaranteed 100 years of peace but caused Lockelan to disappear.

100 years prior to the events of the Misty Forest, Keye was a new member of the Forest Surveillance Team who was convinced to join by his childhood friend, Lockelan. He took part in an expedition to Misty Forest to locate the source of abnormal energy readings.
After narrowing the source of the readings down to an old ruins site, the team begins excavating into its center. They find the Dark Heart, which was buried underneath the earth. Finally free and activated, it begins vaporizing all crew members. Keye and Lockelan are the only two able to escape alive.
Sometime later, Keye is separated from Lockelan. Keye takes on a new life as "The Gatekeeper" after losing most of his memories and forgetting his name.

Hallie is curious about her surroundings and expresses a great concern for the forest and its nature. Because of this, she shows incredible resolve when it comes to fighting the darkness and saving her home. Additionally, she does not appear knowledgeable about technology or culture in the outside world. This leads to some confusion or naivety when faced with these foreign elements.
Hallie was originally a plant that was given life and sentience by the magic of Misty Forest. She has lived in the forest her entire life and was present when the century-old battle between the Hero and the Darkness took place. With the darkness returning once more, Hallie seeks to investigate and stop the source to save her home.
It is also confirmed that every other species of Hallie is dead, including her family, and she is the last one left. Best avoid making salad or dead parents jokes around her because THOSE are very, VERY serious issues for Hallie.
