Daniel sniffed the early morning air. It was cold and damp with only small smells of wild life nothing dangerous. He moved headed down to the river and started washing the sleep away from his eyes and washing his hair a bit. he yawned and looked over the light fog over the river for any signs of life awake.
A green ball of light flew about in the woods, flying above a river. The nude form of a young boy flew by before looking down at the one washing up in the river. "Hmm... I wonder if he's friendly." He said quietly to himself. The boy descended downward and would let up both of his arms before reaching the distance where the other could see him.
Daniel's ears went straight up as he gazed at the green light, he backed away a few steps and growled a bit. "Who's there?" He listened in all directions to make sure it wasn't a trap. The cold morning breeze stung his wet face and hands but his body felt hot with adrenalin.
Myn held out his hands. "Don't worry, I'm friendly." He said as the light around his body began to fade away and he slowly flew toward him. "I won't hurt you, well, I couldn't even if I wanted to, I'm too small for that." He said with a nervous laugh.
Like a dog he sniffed the little pixie, "I've never seen a pixie before that wasn't in a book. You guys are tiny." He smiled and his tail wagged a bit. "It's early, the sun hasn't woke up yet, what are you doing up?" He started washing his arms and hair again in the river.
The young boy smiled as the canine seemed to warm up a bit to him. "You are right yes." He said with a giggle. "I awoke because a squirrel tried to eat me, life's not easy for a pixie out here." He said with a scratch of his head. "I guess it wasn't very wise for me to travel out alone." He said before attempting to sit upon the canine's shoulder.
"I know what you mean, being small and alone is dangerous." He shook a bit like a dog to get the water off. "Thats why I bath at this time only, everything that usually would try to eat me is asleep.I'm Daniel, do pixies have names?"
Myn folded his arms and nodded his head. "Bathing isn't easy for me, I have to do it in places that are high up so that nothing can get me, because if something attacks me while I"m bathing, my wings will be too wet for me to fly away." He'd look to Daniel and smile. "We sure do, my name's Myn!" He said holding his tiny hand out for a handshake.
Daniel smiled and held out his finger. "Myn. So do you have a pack? do pixies stay in packs?" Daniel undid the cloth around his eye revealing that his eye was gone and a large scar covered it. He washed his being careful not to get any water in the empty socket.
Myn shook his head. "Well, we don't normally travel in packs, I was travelling with my sister, but we lost contact with eachother recently, I'm trying to find her, but I'm not having much luck." He said before shaking his head. He'd notice his new friend was missing an eye and was about to gasp, but remembered that was rude and stopped himself. "So what brings you around these parts, Daniel."
"I live in a cave up on the mountains, this is the only water around the mountains unless you go up. But there are sabers up in the snow caps and they don't like the smell of wolf, so I stay down near the floor." He covered his eye again and then washed his hand. "So your sister got separated? that's to bad. If you want I don't mind helping you look. if you have something of hers I could smell her out." He smiled happily and wagged his tail.
"Must go faster, must go faster, must go faster- GAAH!"
A small hobbit leaped away from a velociraptor, quickly scuttling up the tree nearest to him with a frightened squeak. He scrambled as high up the tree as he could go, watching the raptor snap and snarl and jump at him below.
At least he was able to catch his breath now... It was then that he realized that his companion was missing.
"Crysor? CRYSOR?!"
Oh dear.
Crysor was hiding with his back pressed against a tree, silent as a mouse as he listened to a raptor pad past him, unaware of his presence since he was behind the tree. He quietly nocked an arrow to his bow and continued to listen, trying to pinpoint his little friend's direction. He liked the little hobbit despite the fact that he could be annoying sometimes, and sincerely hoped he wasn't getting disembowled by a raptor while he thought.
That would be bad, to say the least.
