Setting: Medieval Fantasy - Though the city itself has some modern and maybe even "future" tech in it though completely made with magic.
Athellion by all examples is that city on a hill. Living standards are good - the best actually in all of the land.
Created by genius gnomes who harnessed magictech crystals and other technology they have made the city the place to live.
Many of their current brightest stars work at the Church (a) a research and development facility that constantly moves the city forward.
Athellion is broken into 5 districts.
Woolcrown - Named by the residents because of the large sky touching and beautiful pristine white buildings that occupy this district. Only the wealthy and elite live here. It encompasses most of the north side of the Grand Spire where the Judge resides and rules over the city
Docks District - A simple district of mostly warehouses and trading places. There are a few homes here.
Noblehart - Named for the brave and the brilliant. These are where most of the middle ranking citizens and well to do businesses reside. A lot of the city guard come from this district. This is also where the Adventurer's guild issues out missions on the city's behalf. There are also a few laboratories here but none as grand as the Church.
Cattlearch - An assortment of farms and ranches - this district feeds the city
Longforge - Engineering, metallurgical, and other mechanical workshops are located here. Usually these workshops build whatever inventions the Church or other labs come up with. There is also a few labs here doing research and working hand in hand with the craftsman to make that next breakthrough.
Athellion is a gnome first society. If you aren't a gnome, you are a second class citizen. Unless through merit and talent prove otherwise you won't get very far in the upper echelons of society. This city has a reputation to uphold after all.
The city has various technologies you might consider modern or science fiction. These are accomplished through magical means, or in some cases more practical means. This city is thousands of years ahead of any of its contemporaries and truly is the city of tomorrow.
