Seven falls asleep

Thirteen sighs sits down in a chair next to seven and falls asleep
She sits down and hums softly
Thirteen slowly woke up and looked around, she rubbed her eye before standing up.
She had fallen asleep leaning on thirteen and biting her own hand
Asa Mitaka sat on a weathered park bench, arms crossed, her eyes drifting over the scene before her. The sun hung high in the sky, its warmth soaking into the earth, casting golden light over the swaying trees and winding paths. Laughter filled the air—children chasing each other through the grass, couples sitting on picnic blankets, a stray dog barking excitedly at a flock of birds. It was the kind of peaceful afternoon most people would cherish.

Asa didn’t.

She shifted uncomfortably, fingers gripping her sleeves as she stared at the ground, her mind too loud despite the quiet around her.

"You’re wasting time," a voice cut through her thoughts, sharp and unimpressed. "Sitting here like some useless bystander. You should be working toward something."

Asa’s fingers twitched, but her face remained blank. She had long since stopped reacting to Yoru’s words in public. To anyone else, she was just a girl sitting alone in the park—no one could hear the voice in her head, no one could see the War Devil that had taken up residence inside her.

Sometimes, she could almost pretend she was normal. But she wasn’t. Not anymore.

She had died once—ripped apart and left to bleed out, only to be revived by Yoru, the War Devil, who now occupied half of her brain. In exchange for her life, Asa had been forced into an unwilling partnership, one where her body was no longer entirely her own. With a single touch, she could turn anything into a weapon, a power Yoru was all too eager to exploit.

But Asa didn’t want to fight.

That was the cruel part, wasn’t it? She had been given this terrible, violent gift, and yet all she had ever wanted was to be left alone. To live quietly, unnoticed. To not be a pawn in some Devil’s endless war.

"You’re thinking too much again," Yoru muttered, bored. "Either do something or stop sulking."

Asa exhaled through her nose, her grip on her sleeves tightening. Maybe she should just go home. Being here wasn’t making her feel any less disconnected. But… she hesitated, her gaze flickering across the park once more. Maybe, just this once, she’d stay a little longer. Just to see if something would happen.
She walks by playing her flute happily
Asa paused mid-step as the sound of a flute filled the air. Her eyes flicked toward the girl playing happily as she walked by—carefree, lighthearted.

"Pointless," Yoru scoffed in her mind.

Asa said nothing, lingering for a moment longer than she meant to. Must be nice.
She looks up and notices them and waves, "Hi!"
Asa tensed slightly, caught off guard as the girl looked up and waved. She hesitated before offering a small, awkward nod in return.

"Ignore her," Yoru muttered.

Asa ignored Yoru instead. "...Hi," she mumbled, barely above a whisper.
She walks over to them and smiles, "Hi I'm Wolfie, Wolfie the Bard! What's your name?"
Asa smiled a bit "my name..is Asa."
Her tail wags happily, "What brings you to town Asa?"
Asa blinked, her eyes flickering down to her feet as she shifted uncomfortably. She wasn’t used to being noticed like this, let alone asked about her presence.

"Just... walking around," she replied quietly, glancing at the park and then back at the girl. "Needed some air."

She didn't elaborate further, unsure how to explain the strange pull she felt toward the quiet of the park.
She nods seeming to except that, "Ah a wanderer. I see"
Asa offered a small, almost imperceptible shrug, unsure how to respond. The word "wanderer" felt too fitting, but she didn't want to dive into that.

"Something like that," she mumbled, her gaze flickering away again. She felt oddly self-conscious under the other girl’s attention.

She forced a soft smile, though it didn’t quite reach her eyes.
She tilts her head, "Are you ok?"
Asa stiffened at the question, her heart skipping a beat. She wasn’t used to being asked that, let alone by someone she’d just met.

"I’m fine," she replied quickly, too quickly. "Just tired."

The words felt hollow, but she couldn’t bring herself to say more. She forced her gaze downward, fidgeting with the edge of her sleeve.
She sits down next to her, "you don't seem fine. Are you sick?" She puts a hand on Asa's to see if she's running a fever
Asa flinched at the sudden touch, her body tensing as the hand landed on hers. Her heart raced, and she quickly pulled her hand away, her eyes wide with surprise.

"I’m not sick," she murmured, trying to hide the discomfort in her voice. "Just... not feeling great today."

She shifted uncomfortably on the bench, avoiding the girl's gaze. The sudden kindness felt like too much—too close.
