CLASSES OF WARCRAFT - LEGENDS FORGED IN BATTLE
Azeroth’s greatest heroes are defined by their class, a calling that shapes their abilities, combat style, and role in the world. Whether wielding steel, spellcraft, or spiritual power, each class carries a unique legacy, drawing from ancient traditions, cosmic forces, and personal trials.
Warrior – The Indomitable Champions of War
From the dawn of history, warriors have stood at the heart of every battle. Trained in the art of combat, they wield weapons with precision and brute strength, relying on their armor, tactics, and unyielding will to dominate the battlefield. Some serve as noble knights, others as savage berserkers, but all share a singular purpose: to master the art of war.
Strengths: Masters of melee combat, physical endurance, and sheer battlefield prowess.
Famous Warriors: Varian Wrynn, Grommash Hellscream, Anduin Lothar.
Paladin – Holy Warriors of Light and Judgment
Born from an era of war and faith, paladins are the champions of the Light, wielding divine power alongside steel. They stand as beacons of hope, shielding their allies, striking down evil, and mending the wounded. Whether serving as protectors of the weak or ruthless enforcers of justice, paladins walk a path of unwavering conviction.
Strengths: Holy magic, healing, defensive power, and righteous judgment.
Famous Paladins: Uther the Lightbringer, Tirion Fordring, Lady Liadrin.
Rogue – Shadows that Strike from the Dark
Silent as the night and deadly as a serpent’s bite, rogues are masters of stealth, assassination, and deception. From street thieves to noble spies, they excel in striking when least expected, evading attacks, poisoning their foes, and vanishing without a trace. No kingdom is without its shadows, and no war is without those who fight in secret.
Strengths: Stealth, speed, poison, and ambush tactics.
Famous Rogues: Garona Halforcen, Valeera Sanguinar, Mathias Shaw.
Hunter – Masters of the Wild and Unbreakable Bonds
From the frozen wastes of Northrend to the dense jungles of Stranglethorn, hunters roam the wild places of Azeroth. They are masters of ranged combat and beast companionship, forging unbreakable bonds with creatures of the land. Whether tracking prey or stalking their foes, hunters strike with precision, patience, and primal instinct.
Strengths: Bow mastery, animal companions, tracking, and survival.
Famous Hunters: Sylvanas Windrunner, Rexxar, Hemet Nesingwary.
Mage – Arcane Scholars of Infinite Knowledge
Mages wield the raw forces of creation, bending fire, frost, and arcane energy to their will. From the towering halls of Dalaran to the secretive spires of the Kirin Tor, their power is limitless—but dangerous. A true mage balances wisdom and ambition, for magic is as destructive as it is wondrous.
Strengths: High-damage spells, teleportation, and arcane mastery.
Famous Mages: Jaina Proudmoore, Khadgar, Medivh.
Warlock – Corruptors and Lords of the Fel
Where others fear the demonic, warlocks embrace it. Once shunned as heretics, they have mastered fel magic, summoning demonic minions, draining life, and unleashing hellfire upon their enemies. Though often distrusted, warlocks possess a power few dare to claim.
Strengths: Summoning demons, destructive magic, soul leeching.
Famous Warlocks: Gul’dan, Kanrethad Ebonlocke, Wilfred Fizzlebang (kind of).
Shaman – Callers of the Elements and Spirit Guides
Shamans walk between the mortal world and the spirit realm, calling upon fire, air, water, and earth to shape destiny. They are storm-callers, healers, and warriors, acting as the bridge between Azeroth’s elemental forces. When balance is broken, the shaman’s duty is to restore it—no matter the cost.
Strengths: Elemental spells, totem-based magic, and ancestral guidance.
Famous Shamans: Thrall, Rehgar Earthfury, Nobundo.
Druid – Keepers of the Wild and Shapeshifting Guardians
Druids are nature’s chosen protectors, wielding the magic of the Emerald Dream and shapeshifting into mighty beasts. From the towering bear tanks to the swift cat hunters, from the moon-casting owls to the healing treants, druids embody the balance of nature itself.
Strengths: Shapeshifting, nature-based magic, and ultimate versatility.
Famous Druids: Malfurion Stormrage, Hamuul Runetotem, Broll Bearmantle.
Death Knight – The Fallen Reborn in Darkness
Once noble warriors, death knights were twisted into instruments of war by the Lich King. Wielding necromantic power and cursed steel, they are undead champions of frost, plague, and blood magic. Though many have reclaimed their free will, their souls remain forever scarred by the horrors of undeath.
Strengths: Necromantic resilience, blood-fueled strikes, and unholy magic.
Famous Death Knights: Arthas Menethil, Darion Mograine, Thassarian.
Monk – Masters of Martial Arts and Inner Balance
Trained in ancient disciplines, monks wield their bodies as weapons, striking with lightning-fast blows and fluid movement. Drawing from spiritual energy, they channel chi to mend wounds, stagger enemy attacks, or unleash devastating fury. Some follow a path of harmony, others of unrelenting combat, but all seek perfection of mind and body.
Strengths: Martial arts, chi energy, healing, and agility.
Famous Monks: Chen Stormstout, Taran Zhu, Yulon’s Disciples.
Demon Hunter – Cursed Slayers of the Legion
Few are willing to sacrifice everything to fight the darkness—demon hunters have. Once noble elves, they embraced fel energy, transforming into living weapons against the Burning Legion. With blinded eyes that see demons, burning wings, and unholy agility, they fight with the power of the monsters they swore to destroy.
Strengths: Fel-infused combat, high-speed attacks, and demonic resilience.
Famous Demon Hunters: Illidan Stormrage, Kayn Sunfury, Altruis the Sufferer.
NOTE: It is possible to use aspects of at least two classes mentioned above to make a "hybrid"
NOTABLE HYBRIDS:
Kolach: Warrior/Mage
Malik: Paladin/Priest
Ragthar: Warrior/Rogue
Dalnai: Warrior/Demon Hunter
To make it simple, I'll let you know what would not work.
Lighforged Draenei warlocks
Void elf lightwielders
Undead paladins
Etc.
I'll add more here if I see more combos that doesn't work. If unsure, please don't forget to dm me your idea.
