Yo! I wanted to establish a thread for general chatting. Feel free to talk about whatever the heck you want: your wordcount, funny passages, inspirational music, bouncing ideas for plot points, etc.
So, how far along is everyone? I started at midnight and actually did more than I thought I'd be able to, because I was tired--I'm sitting on 4.3k right now. It's a good start, especially because I won't be able to work on it at all this weekend AND next weekend due to work/cons.
But I'll be able to rack up some words tonight and tomorrow night, then maybe a bit next week. But I probably won't be able to kick into high gear until like the 13th. Blorrrrggghhh.

Im moving slower today than I was last night, but I'm going to be picking away at it all day today. I got 5k down last night and am at 7k now. I usually write way more in the evenings than I do during the day.

Got about 2400 so far, but I'm being a nano rebel and writing alongside someone else and we've already realized we need to rejig our collaboration structure. Tonight we're hosting a write in, so we'll see if we get much more done or if it's going to be all socializing!
I'm a bit nervous for this year, as I'll be working full-time, along with a part-time job on the side, and going to family/friend events and babysitting.

@Zhi: Oh man. The past 3 days I have had horrible pains in my neck. I think it's how I've been sleeping. But it's been a really horrible. And trying to work with it is a nightmare. So I know how you feeeeeeel

Ending the day with 5k! Double shift of work today (basically working a 12 hr shift, because I work my 1st and 2nd job today), so I don't think I'll have the chance to write more. Pleased though, that's got me two days ahead!
hit 10k, taking a break for maybe an hour then going to try to chug on until 15k if I can.
We want 50k each, but if we get 50k together I think we'll be happy. We both work and are not prolific writers but we really love our shared story so far. One of my RPR characters is from it and I'd like to upload one or two more after nano is over.
I got you! That makes sense. Ultimately NaNo is about setting personal goals. The 50k mark just feels like a good middle ground.

I remember back in my eeeearly forum RP days I was reading someone's post, and she had meant to type "The fairy laughed and shot lightning bolts into the sky"
Buuuut of course it turned into "The fairy laughed and shit lightning bolts into the sky"
And 20 years later I still giggle whenever I remember it
My early pre furc RP days were on Neverwinter Nights, and this guy who's character was some buff white dude named 'Anubis' (eyeroll) was really mad at some other guy and he breaks character briefly to just yell "IM GOING TO GO IN THERE AND LICK HIS ASS" rather than KICK. We never let him live it down. He was 'Anubis the Ass Licker' for the rest of the time that server existed.
