Group Members

  • In the group, there are many different ranks. Ranks are representative of a character's skill as a warrior, as well as deeds, personality, and time spent with the group. Most new members are not awarded any special position until they prove themselves capable and trustworthy in the eyes of the jarl.

    To advance in ranks, all we require is that you roleplay with the group, and enjoy doing so. There is no ooc differences and ranks between players. And long time members may even prefer or chose to remain a lower rank, depending on their character. There should never be any ooc competition for ranks (but we encourage IC competition), as that is not what ranks are about. They are moreso to give a title to a character's job within the group.
  • Jarl
    This is the big daddy of the group. The leader, the chieftain and the dictator. What he says goes, and there is little to no hesitation when he asks for something. He has men bound by oath to protect and die for him, and is not a force to be trifled with.

    Thegns
    These are the prestigious members of the group who have won a personal place at the jarl's side. The trusted few who act as second in commands, and often act on behalf of the jarl and the group as a whole. Often working as lawbringers. The Thegns are the leaders of the group.

    Hirthguard / Huskarls
    The elite members of the group. This is the household guard of the jarl and the group as a whole. The front and center of any shield wall and fight, and the members that have demonstrated exceptional ability as a warrior, and shown their dedication to the group. A high honour, this rank is.

    Carls
    From elite warriors who have not been given a fancy rank, to wives, women and children. This is the main body of the group. Although there are no special titles here, every member is just as crucial to the group as those with distinctions.

    Slaves
    During their period, Vikings were some of the best known slavers in the world. Human cargo was extremely profitable, and slaves made lives a whole lot easier. In general, Viking slaves were treated well.
