((OOC Note: These are the logs for the sermon event during the winter blizzard. If your character would have been there, feel free to use any information from these logs in your roleplays while your character recalls the event.))
Mauricio - The temple was slowly filling up as servants lit scented candles along the walls in honour of the titans. Behind the altar the Inquisitor already stood, he was dressed in more priestly robes now, the colourful multi-coloured attire that honoured all titans. To remind people of his actual station he still wore the wide-brimmed hat of a grand inquisitor, if the inquisitive looks he gave every attendant didn't remind them enough.
Nar'eth Malmind's less than inconspicuous form pushed it's way through the temple door while the candles were being lit. This was, in truth, the first time he'd set foot within the Temple, and it failed to live up to his expectations. As a Drow, extravagance and very 'in-your-face' decor was generally percieved to be the norm.. This place seemed much more subdued and.. Respectful. As insulting as it was, he bit his tounge and made his way to an empty seat near the back, pulling back his hood and brushing the snow from his shoulders. Damnible blizzard.. It blocked out the sun, as he had prayed for, but it made both day and night impossible to work in.. So, he'd spent most of his time in the inn, drinking, feasting and generally trying to ignore the goings-on of the world around him. Now, however, he felt it was about time he showed his face at one of these sermons. He didn't much like the idea of being suspected as a heathen- wether he is or not.
Arak Mazanai- And the General walks in, without fanfare but making an impression nonetheless, closing the door with a slam to keep the dire weather outside where it belongs. A thick fur rests upon Arak's shoulders, and it is covered in snow - that, together with the armor and helmet, make the general a rather bulky and imposing figure to behold. Arak is silent, and stands near the back of the building, behind everyone else. The General doesn't seem to want to draw much attention today.
Mauricio - With the door close and the hour having approached Mauricio raised his hands, drowning the muttering and talk from the people within the temple. He came from behind his altar, walking in precise and silent steps as he usually did, almost as if he glided over the floor like a phantom. "We have gathered here today to pay our respect and honour the titans. To those that do not know me, my name is Mauricio and I am the Grand Inquisitor of this village." The inquisitor's voice was stern, precise and self assured without even the slightest hint of hesitation and carried through the silent room, being nearly as clear to those in the back as to those in front. He stopped in front of the stone slab and looked over the crowd, to the dark skinned human to the side, to the general in the back, it lingered a moment longer on the drow but not so long that it became too odd.
Mauricio raises a clawed finger to draw people's attention as he begins "The titans have not been kind on us the past week and many of you have wondered why, asked the simple question of 'why'." Lowering his finger and relaxing his pose the inquisitor pauses for a moment to look over the crowd again, in part to see their reaction, in part to let his words sink in for a moment.
Arak Mazanai back there, the general listens as intently as a person wearing a helmet can possibly listen to something. Arms now crossed, Arak is still an imposing presence in the building... but all eyes are turned to the Inquisitor, as it should be.
Nar'eth Malmind was, in a way, thankful for the blizzard. It had, after all, reduced the sun to a mere dull glow behind obscured, glorious black clouds. Still. The chill was too much. Give Nar'eth a cave or a warm, starry night any time. At any rate, he remained outwardly respectful- eyes forward on the inquisitor, not giving anything away of his true alliegance to Skiasca. She would forgive this minor transgression- providing he takes a few more lives in her name. Perhaps he'd approach the inquisitor later and offer his services...
Mauricio continues, his tone shifting into a friendly and pleasant sounding tone, eerily uncommon for the inquisitor. "In your desperate search for an answer you have pointed an accusing finger onto the coming of the empire, pointed the finger to those who have brought law, and order, and the will of the titans to this town." His voice was becoming more reprimanding and his eyes narrowed.
Mauricio - "When I came to this temple it was abandoned and empty, it was little more than a ruin, a long forgotten testament to the titans that created and rule this realm!" The inquisitor pauses again to lower his voice, he now takes on a more gentle tone again, as if telling a story. "Now with the coming of the empire this has changed. No longer are the titans forgotten, no longer is this temple a ruin." He stabs a finger towards the door, behind which the fierce blizzard still rages "What you see there is a winter of the titans. The winter is a time of purging, when the trees lose their protection, lose their disguises so that those trees that are rotten die and make way for those trees that are healthy and strong." The man paused for a moment. "There are still those in this town who are unfaithful, who do not believe in the strength and the justice of the titans. Who would lead you, good trees, good folk into their own rotten darkness and perversion."
Mauricio - "But you must not follow them! Weed them out, reveal them, make that those who were given the power to protect you can destroy them! For when all is well, and only the good is left, then the winter will end and there will be a time for rebirth, a time for everything to grow and prosper again, more beautiful and more pure than what was before." The ermine pauses again, this time longer than before to let his words and his message sink in.
Quincy Bird - Right then, at that, someone near the back- a farmer, by the looks of it, starving and cold- stood and shouted, "It's the vampire!" Immediately, there were murmurs of agreement, nods and grimaces. "We must bring down the vampire!"
Nar'eth Malmind quirked a brow as he turned to inspect the man talking about a 'vampire'. He'd only ever heard rumors and legends of such things, but they could not exist. Still. Commoners could not know this. Nar'eth could use this to his advantage.. A way to 'prove his dedication', so to speak, while inwardly giving praise to the Mistress of Night.. Yes.. To kill is to bask in her very essence.";

Arak Mazanai's arms are uncrossed, and the general takes a single step forward, before looking at the Grand Inquisitor. One of the two is going to have to deal with that little man; the general wonders if Mauricio will do it himself, or if Arak will have to remove the farmer from the temple. A little eager, aren't we?
Seres D'eitre peered carefully through a small gap in the infirmary door as she noticed an unusual amount of noise erupting from the temple; it wasn't the Inquisitor shouting at this point, she'd gotten fairly used to his droning at all hours in the day, to be able to distinguish that much. The faintly muffled mention of 'vampires' also interested her; medically speaking, it was impossible for undead creatures, such as vampires, to exist, and so she had disregarded their existance. She hadn't even considered the 'most obvious' suspect of being a vampire because of her complete disregard for the race, and yet, the majority of the townsfolk seemed so adamant on the presence of vampires that they dared to mention it during a sermon. Through the small, silent gap in the door, Seres would attempt to satisy her curiousity without disturbing the atmosphere.
Mauricio - The question drew the inquisitor's blue gaze to the farmer, for only a moment the look was stern and inquiring though. "Your concern is noted, by your service to the titans and this church I bless you." The inquisitor pauses for a moment as he looks across the crowd and towards Arak, he quickly raises a hand to indicate the general should hold back for now.. "Vampires." The ermine speaks loudly. "They are unliving creatures, monsters that prey on the lifeblood of other creatures, even those faithful to the titans. That is how they are known?" He looks around, getting agreeful nods from the crowd. "However! All creatures know sin! Humans, elves. Some creatures know more sin than others." His eyes travel to Nar'leth "Drow! Vampires, to simply name a few. Certainly they are worthy of mistrust, but know that the titans themselves do not condemn their existance..." He pauses for a moment. "So neither should we."
Arak Mazanai nods and takes a step back, arms once again being crossed.
Nar'eth Malmind looked back to the Inquisitor when he answered the call of 'vampires' with a declaration that they are no more deserving of the Titan's condemnation than the other races. When Elves and Drow were mentioned seperately- as though Drow were not a form of Elf- Nar got the distinct impression that he was going to have to be very careful around the Inquisition. He was never outwardly religious, anyway, but he'd have to be even more reserved with the watchful eye of the Inquisitor on him. At any rate, he didn't allow any of these thoughts and concerns to manifest in his expression- which remained set in it's respectful yet careful gaze.
Mauricio - "I assure you that the vampire that you speak off has been investigated. I can assure you that he is faithful to the titans and wishes to be nothing more than an ally to our town. I ask you not to trust him, I ask you not to accept him! To do so blindly would be foolish and a step closer to the path of darkness." Then Mauricio lays a hand on his chest, and his eyes return to Arak. "And I promise you now that if the vampire does stray of the righteous path and breaks his pledge to this town, the justice of the titans will find him, and it shall have no mercy."
Quincy Bird - There were still some concerned expressions, but some- including the dark-skinned woman near the infirmary door- had a face of acceptance, nodding. The farmer who'd outcried before seemed ashamed, albeit still worried (and still hungry).
Mauricio - After a long pause the inquisitor turns around and steps back towards the grand altar, once there he raises his hands. "Now this mass is concluded, but before you venture back to your homes and fields I tell you this." Mauricio takes a deep breath and then begins, in a hopeful and assuring tone of voice. "Do not ignore the titans that will aid you most in this time of need. Honour the Water by drinking it carefully, and thank it for its presence. Honour the fire by hudding around it and sharing its warmth with your fellows, and thank it for its presence. Honour the earth that keeps your house firm on the ground, that supports you no matter what may happen, and thank it for its presence. Pray to the titans, to each titan. Pray silently or pray loud, the titans will always hear you for they are always around you..." He lowers his head a bit, his voice turning grim. "And report anyone with a heretical thought. If the titans see your devotion, they shall reward you, this I promise. You are dismissed." The inquisitor then says conclusively. Before everyone goes though he mutters a slight and silent prayer in the strange language of the titan's themselves.
Arak Mazanai- From under the General's helmet comes a whisper that's probably a prayer as well - and then, out the door the General goes, to brave the snowstorm once more.
